Fargo mayor had some interesting comments today about the national weather service predictions. Something about being upset that they keep raising it. I wish I had the quote but I was listening to the anchor person on the news. Let us not forget that GF had a 49' prediction in 1997 and that is what we built dikes to. I feel bad for the weather service because it's tough for them to win in this situation.

Anyone have any info for the volume of water? Consider how much wider the river basin between the dikes is now. I wonder what the crest predication would be if we still had the '97 set up.

Why are you so worried about the east side dikes? You do realize that both sides are at the same height and the east side dikes are older. My understanding is that is helpful to 'settle' the dikes. Hell, if the east side dikes go that only helps gf.

I missed the end of the show and they might have mentioned this: Why did they homer Minn and give them a better seed than Sconny? My guess is that they are homers and know nothing about hockey.

Not sure on ND schedule but they used to forgive like every other day. Tougher to build in storm days in MN because of having to start after Labor Day and many schools like to end right around Memorial day. EGF has had the one storm day (now two)and they are already making that first one up at the end of the year.

Looks like Fargo is on their own today, at least as far as the northern valley is concerned. With no school it seems that none of the buses are running. I don't even think the city of GF is sending any from Alerus Center. I know the GF high schools were sending 10 buses. EGF was sending a few but those weren't for sure going to Fargo. Maybe they'll go tomorrow?

I think it's actually better if AFA loses. That means a place is being taken up by a non top 16 team, while if AFA wins it seems they could still end up being top 16 anyway and the Goofers still ahead of them. While I think it would be great if the Goofs don't make it when getting to host (yet again) I'm not afraid to have them in the field. It just would be cool to have the Sioux in "the John" with no Goofer team and lots of cheap tickets.

Cornell beat princeton in double OT. Cornell scored 2 goals in like the last 2 minutes of regulation to tie.

BC is up 1-0 against BU after 2. Winner plays Lowell. I do not want BC to make the tourney. They have been on a tear to end the year.

So why was it a penalty on Finley towards the end for legally checking a player that had the puck and he hit the post and yet when we had the PP VV was checked from behind and railed the post with a no call?

haven't really noticed duluth 5 x 5 but we aren't doing much better. I find it odd that we don't have one blue line shot during a PP. Gotta score ugly on Staloch.

Cornell and Princeton on NHL network right now. The Cornell band played the Canadian anthem (and US). Sounded like a high school band.

They have a tough first game against RLCC who can run. Both teams gave EGF their only losses by I think 1 point in each game. Oddly enough the team that gave Ada their only loss (Eden Valley Watkins) was beat by New London Spicer the first game of the year. EGF is playing New London in their first game at state. For those that don't know, there is no consolation bracket in MN and they don't seed single A and double A.

I was impressed with Tech and really wondering how they only had two WCHA wins. thanks for the explanation.

And I'd like to see BC keep losing. For some reason I don't want them in the NCAA tournament.

Maybe I missed this getting posted, but let us not forget our record before Joe came back and how much better we've been since he's been back. Granted our O has gotten better, but I would like to think that Joe has freed up people to be more offensive.

I hate to say it (always very against it) but the only way for college hockey to survive at this point is for the Big Ten hockey conference. That way there are openings in other conferences for new teams to join. Of course the opposite could be true and schools fold teams. Smaller schools wouldn't be getting home games and large attendance numbers that the Big Ten schools bring.

Martens was on the point for the PP both games. After giving up so many odd man rushes and not being able to hold the zone he didn't play on point on the PP the second half of the game . That's my belief.
