i think the main reason the city does this is to attract businesses/high-quality workers... having nice golf courses/softball leagues is definitely a plus to any business looking to relocate.. and judging by fargo's growth this seems to be working OK (however an argument could be made that adding hockey rinks would be beneficial to attracting minnesotans with kids wanting to play hockey... personally i would rather have golf courses)

they funded more football scholarships than any NSIC team last year... their BB team seemed to do OK against UND.. and their track/volleyball/wrestling teams are normally pretty good... the list of NCC-caliber candidates in the region is not very big (if existent at all) so Mary wouldn't be a terrible option if the NCC really wanted to add a team right now

I am not doubting the UND hockey is a cash cow I know it is... but did you read the official report UND gave to the government? in 03 they had total revenues of 6.35M 183k from M BB 179K from WBB 446K from FB 759K from other womens sports total from these sports = 1.567M therefore total revenue 6.35M substract revenue attributed to non men's-hockey sports 1.567M 6.35-1.567= 4.783 or as I said... just under 4.8 million... so in theory UND men's hockey could have made as much as 4.8 million (probably less because other sports do have sources of revenue and booster money cannot all be attributed to UND hockey). Therefore unless UND's athletic department is filing false reports.. they could not have made more than 4.8M off hockey.

NDSU football brought in 1.2 million vs 1.1 in expenses UND football brought in 450K with expenses of 860K All other UND sports including Hockey brought in 855K... hockey has no individual data "cell" as fb and bb do however much of UND's revenue is not allocated by sport (I am assuming alot came from Hockey)

from the 4 games I saw.. (NDSU, UNO, UNA, GVSU) digger... obviously lueck.. an argument could have been made that he won the NDSU and UNA games by setting the tone early O-line... it is difficult to pick out players specifically (other than olson) but their pass protection was unbeleivable and a key to their wins against sdsu, scsu, and ndsu. there are obviously others.. but these are the ones that stand out to me

I am aware of a couple of options.. you could go to free photo-hosting site (ex www.villagephotos.com) and upload your pic there and link it.. another way would be to upload your photo to your profile at siouxsports.. click on your user name.. then on edit my profile.. then click on change my personal photo (under personal profile) browse your computer for the file and then click on update your photo.. the pic will then be uploaded to siouxsports.. right click on the image for its url and you should be good to go.. i have a lot of free time today

just thinking about those bathrooms almost gives me the creeps will the stands be on one side only.. i noticed the visiting stands were removed from selke when i was there for the game this year.. do they plan on using these at the new stadium?

looks like it will be real nice.. the fact that is on campus should help student attendance.. I don't think anybody will miss Selke.. the bathrooms in there were scary.. will the playing surface be grass or some type of turf?

the women's region appears pretty stacked, although I think there may be a drop-off after the top six... do six or eight teams make the regional?

Northern St. and Mary are two schools mentioned by the former NCC commisioner (name?) on radio during halftime of the SDSU-UND football game

My thoughts were that they could sweep augi, mankato, and usd (emphasize could.. although they have beaten MSUM 4 straight years (who hasn't) and USD 2/3), win their OOC games (CSP, Moorhead, and Upper Iowa.. a definite possibility) and "steal" a game against either UNO, UND, or SCSU (a long-shot I know but not completely out of the question.. as they are ramping up scholies and did compete well at the end of last season.)
