Obviously you have no knowledge of the discord between Iowa and ISU. During the hiatus I heard ALL of the same excuses. This is nothing more than a replay except for how the NDSU and UND series stopped. Choose your beverage wisely as it looks like Faison has finally realized he has no bargaining power. He pretty much indicated so in the article saying he would agree to the two games in Fargo to get the series going again. Just think if he would have scheduled the game along time ago. We wouldnt be having this conversation. We would be talking about the up coming game between NDSU and UND.

Money Concessions were made by Iowas State due to the fact that their seating capacity was not comeparable to Iowas when they were trying to restart the rivalry.. When they increased their seating they renegotiated the agreement. Iowa vs Iowa State didnt happen for many many years. 40?

After reading this thread something very interesting is going on. Theres alot of excuses for not playing NDSU. Play the two games in Fargo. Get the ball rolling. You keep demanding and setting terms like Faison did the results will be the same. If Faison hadnt demanded the game be played every year the game would have been played a couple of times or more already.

Faison could of had the same deal years ago and the game would have been played several time by now. But he insisted the game be played every year.

You seriously cant be serious. Nobody who is anybody cares whether he scheduled you. Do you think that was a talking point during he Iowa interview? His legacy may be tarnished in your eyes because he didnt schedule you guys but nobody else cares.

The new governance is going to be a catalyst for other schools to seperate themselves from some of the bottom feeders in their conferences. That will cause some movement. IMO. The have nots may have to join up with other have nots if they want to keep playing and be competitive. I also wouldnt be surprised to see some of the stronger teams in one conference join with their peers in another to form a new conferece to move up. OR Everyone can just say pizz on the big boys and go about their business. I think eveyone is waiting to see who makes a move first.

Why would it be dying? Smaller schools have done well for years before they were used as a punching bag for the big pay day. They got in trouble when the started to rely on those pay days. They will just have to change their model and start promoting their product and working on their fan base. The sky is falling is an illusion. Just like the MAC and MWC conferences thinking they were in with the big boys. When the split happens there will be no more illusions on whos who and whos what.

Depending on the schools involved you are correct. The Penn State move was hugely academic for both parties concerned. Maryland and Rutgers was all about expanding thier footprint. Any other rhetoric is BS.

Anybody CFB fan worth their salt knows national Championships are hard to come by. NDSU caught lightening in a bottle. Championships run in cycles. Look at TX, LA , AL, and FL. Look at the runs they made. And at that time THEIR fans thought it would go on forever but it never does. Some programs have peaks and valleys. NDSU is more like ups and downs with no valleys. NDSU has only had 3 losing seasons in 50 years. Why do you have to keep bemoaning that we wont be on top forever? We know that. But we also know that it is unlikely the Bison will go in the toilet. Keep hanging your hat on that 3-8 season. Its doesnt happen often.
