  1. If we lose 1, and Mankato sweeps, that will on its own likely move us to #2. If UMD or DU sweep and we lose 1- either could potentially leap us. Miami and Tech too...
  2. Then you do not understand the PWR and the RPI component
  3. Its dynamic and iterative...the value is impacted by every single game played.
  4. are you stating if no NS then or do you know that NS is out?
  5. I do...the issue there was it was post-commitment...had they paid a visit to their old pal JP and Zach pre-commitment...no biggie
  6. he's banged up- he's missed time in games in the past few series
  7. UND always had a Roseau connection- Broten broke that tradition. Lundbohm and Fabian seem to have reignited it. Warroad was usually split between UND and UMN The rest of section 8 wasn't producing a ton of high end recruits The great Moorhead teams of the early 90's sent guys all over Minnesota D1- Cloud, Duluth, Gophers. We got Vandevelde... This recent crop of Green Wavers is the best that I've ever seen come out of EGF, and we've got the best one coming
  8. This series is a pairwise killer. Nothing good comes out of it... a single loss hurts our #1 overall position Risk of injury is always there I wish we could opt out of the NCHC tourney this year and simply heal up If possible I'd rest everyone and do non-contact special teams work for two weeks... Man a healthy NS, Jewels, and Mac would be welcome come NCAA time
  9. The general might need to perfect "the move" on that Miami player that was in his face 1. Remove helmet and gloves with honor 2. with left hand, grasp your opponent firmly at the shoulder pad where it meets at the sternum. 3. move right arm to 90 degree angle 4. with very swift and violent motion move pull left hand toward you 5. simultaneously swing right elbow or fist across with as much power as you can muster 6. repeat as necessary in order to get your point across
  10. And had Miami swept, I guarantee they would've had zero hesitation of parading the cup around the arena even though it would've technically been shared. Win a title before you say what you would or wouldn't do... I am so impressed with their ONE title in the CCHA...as you can tell by my posting. I thought their team played cheap, their fans are d-bags...I hope they NEVER win F-all....
  11. I think they make sense...I don't think anyone is getting a sandbag job...metro sections are pretty tough
  12. Only if he speaks to and tries to influence the kid directly...anyone can state an opinion...even if they are the color guy on TV. I'm also not sure if Louie is still connected enough to the U for it to be out of bounds...I mean alumni call recruits all the time as hockey family "friends"
  13. they all got excited on every freaking breakout or neutral zone entry...they cried for a penalty on every play... back to our team- Zero chemistry up front other than the Gaarder line. The problem is that Mac and Parks have so much freaking chemistry, you can't just replicate that. Problem is Poolman brings nothing to the offense as a forward, so who do you play with Parks? Then lose Schmaltz to a thigh to the head...and the depth that has made this team great is really compromised. Add to it that Mac plays in all special teams situations, is one of the fastest skaters on the team, and is our best face-off man... All that said- we gutted out a tough win in Miami and get to hang a banner.
  14. miami fan stupidity is pretty much over the top. chant "over rated" when the #5 in the polls splits with #1 in the polls, the night after that #1 team won the conference in their barn...wow! They probably didn't even know the two teams played the night before... what do you expect from a team with no tradition. Make up a term like "the brotherhood"cause you've got nothing... maybe we should call ours the "banner hood" since we have a plethora of them... I hate dumb fans who don't know hockey- Miami fan boy has now trumped minnesota fan boy...at least Minnesota has a tradition and some banners
  15. I've heard the injury piece before, and to me that makes a lot of sense. I'm curious about "peaking" in what regard? Performance in a particular sport? Overall general athleticism? Also I think clarification would be warranted regarding the timing of switching to a single sport- at what age they go to the singular focus probably makes a significant impact. As with all things, generalities are dangerous. For the average d-1 athletic prospect, it probably is just fine to stay at school. If you are really special- like labeled for the NHL- you likely need to prove your metal against higher end talent earlier. Hockey is strange with the draft rules and the drafting at 18.
  16. This team is doing what championship teams do. They sell out for the team and they find ways to win. I thought Miami outplayed us for most of the game, they are fast and skilled and really move the puck well- I pity the team that has to play them in the NCAAs. That said, we did all the little things we needed to do, finished on an odd man opportunity, got a goal out of nothing, and let Zane do his thing. Side note- this had playoff feel- not just NCHC, but NCAA. That's a good takeaway, and while not playing to end someone's season, you can be sure Miami was extra motivated to not let UND clinch the Penrose in their barn. Good win- we found a way,
  17. t The wrong older people...who fail at life...and live vicariously
  18. What are these kid hoping to do when they don't get 250k per and a mil to sign as regular joes coming out of college? Not talking pro athletes here.... If you don't get everything you want, do you quit? Do you file suit? Do you go on the dole? Our society is doomed; just another example
  19. If it was unsafe, both coaches should've talked and pulled both teams off. Petty behavior example...every moment is a teaching moment...
  20. Not trying to predict what they'll do, but rather state what I'd do.
  21. If Mac can't go, I'd stack the first line and go with this: Schmaltz with Jewels and Parks Gaarder with OD and Pogo Pattyn with Poolman and Chyzyk Simonson with St Clair and LJ
  22. very questionable. It isn't figure skating. The contact was incidental with the flow. It didn't interfere with a scoring chance or risk an injury
  23. Great post- Thanks for the memories boys- we fans appreciate the work you put in and the product you deliver. You will go out winners regardless of the outcome tonight or in April.
  24. No issue if they had a beer- issue if they had ten
