I'm a big whiskey snob- like buying rare bourbons at auction or at the distillery. That said, for the $ there is no better whiskey than Crown... -
Red river done?

Is it pretty even? Go Riders!

So, I'm stuck on a plane friday night- I have CBS sports at home- anybody know if there is an online feed anywhere? -
Danny can definitely skate! I think the issue with Danny and the NHL is finding the right role on the right team. He is not going to win a lot of corner battles at the NHL level unless its a foot race. He is average size and average strength (for an NHL forward). He also probably brings average NHL skill for a potential 5/6 forward. If he projects as a 15-20 goal scorer 35-45 point guy, he needs to bring some other intangibles...hence the work on defensive zone play in the AHL. I think he can make it if he can prove that he can put up 50ish points and play plus hockey in the AHL consistently.

Other interesting Pts/game notables: Duncan .98 (4 years) Rocco .90 (2 years) Travis Zajac .93 (2 years) Stafford .97 (3 years) I

Kristo is putting up solid numbers in the AHL- I wouldn't call it "blowing it up" As for production, the best comparison is points per game. Most of our elite players do not play 4 years. Kristo is at 1.025ppg (4 years) Osh was 1.10ppg (3 years) Toews at 1.12 (2 years) Parise 1.52 (2 years) Panzer 1.373 (4 years) Bucks 1.28 (3 years) Gregoire 0.94 (3 years)

He'll need to get some exposure at the junior level- NoDak prep gets no respect...

There were several thousand Sioux fans at the Frozen Four in St Paul back in 2011...

This week the bracketology is a mess... 3 NCHC teams as #1 seeds, two 2 seeds, and a four seed. The only place you can send SCSU to avoid an intraconference first round matchup is to Mankato. Before thinking about attendance, you'd have: Mankato vs SCSU (why? Only place to send a 4 seed and not get an intraconference matchup) UNO vs BC UMD vs Yale DU vs MN UND vs Robert Morris (why? Because UND as the #2 overall seed gets the #16 when moved) BU vs Quinnipiac MIami vs BGU MTU vs Providence I think you float a whole 1/2 bracket to make it more attractive for attendance swap BU vs Quinnipiac with DU vs MN Southbend Mankato vs SCSU UNO vs BC Manchester UMD vs Yale BU vs Quinnipiac Fargo UND vs Robert Morris DU vs MN Providence MIami vs BGU MTU vs Providence

edit...just the "right" bit mean
-
Matt Jones could definitely keep up. He is one of the best dmen we've had in GF in the last 20 years- he and Greene were almost impossible to play against for opposing forwards...they were good players, strong, and just a little bit mean : )

Merrimack and Vermont skated to a 0-0 tie last night...wow...that must've been a fun one to watch....
-
WMU played a great series- Andy Murray is a great coach. They used their physical presence to stay with us. They kept working and almost stole one from the #1 team in the country. That said, we found a way to leave the zoo with 6 pts and sole possession of first in the NCHC. We've almost secured a #1 seed in the NCAAs. Win 3 games and we win the conference.

Gregoire did not have NHL skating- that's it...he does everything well, but he doesn't do it at NHL speed. I think Drake is a better skater. Agree that Drake is more highlight reel and Gregoire was more quietly effective.

thanks for the info...I didn't know there was a max age
-
I realize it isn't his first eligible year, but i am not aware of a rule preventing a player from being drafted due to old age...
-
Why can't he be drafted?
-
In his initial draft year, Jewels was playing Tier 2 junior in an unheralded league...he will be drafted in the later rounds this year, no doubt about it. Sadly, if he cares about where his pro career is, he'd be better off negotiating a free agent deal with that team than risking being drafted by an undesirable team. That means he'd leave after this year though
-
okay...okay...let's agree to a compromise- 80%...

What was the explanation- I could see waiving that goal off in real-time due to perceived goalie interference or intent to blow the whistle prior to the puck eventually landing on the player's back. In either case I guess they wouldn't go to review...
