I think you have to put the onus on the defensive player. The offensive player with the puck is allowed to use his body to protect the puck- note: Jaromir Jagr. You want that offensive player to be able to create.
leaving ones feet is not a penalty unto itself, it is a smoking gun in determining charging. I don't think it should be a penalty if a guy is trying to slip a check to make a play, even if he jumps.
All that said, I am entirely for more embellishment calls
4-6 months??? Man, he must've mangled it. I'd hate for him to go to NHL camp right out of a rehab stint, and thats what we're talking with that timeline. Given the free agency rules it certainly makes staying seem like the better option all things considered...
It's his back foot in question, which is likely in recovery, which is likely off the ice.
Not to mention the construction of the skate...
he was called offsides, so he's offsides and we lost...this just tortures me more dwelling on it
We have big time Karma for next year...
I find it interesting the boys who didn't go to Winnipeg, given the talk about about some locker room leadership change in tide that others call out
So much parity. I have a super star kiddo, but it sucks in terms of options for college- CHL at least guarantees you a ride for every year you play...
I love the college game- we need more teams!!!
End of the year, I think that DU is the best team. UMD and Harvard are right there. Penn State, Gophers, BU, Notre Dame, Lowell, Western, UND...any given night.

The thing is, if not NHL, then not that much money...this is for non-first rounders:
$140k to sign, after taxes and agent fees nets you about $80k, which is a nice down payment on a slightly above average house...depending on where you live...certainly not above average in the big metro areas.
$70k per isn't garbage, but it won't make life easy- especially with the travel- its less than entry level business consultants make to travel the same.
you do get summers off to some degree.
watch slap shot to get a feel for the minors.
Holy f'ing Christ. Puck looks well across when it is not. Same as Hoff...f'ing identical. If those refs were versed in this, they would not have overturned it- no f'ing way
