  1. I think the stats show that kids catch it, but they’re at virtually no risk of dying from it.
  2. I’m paying twice for Netflix, because I don’t want to deal with password BS. It’s free with my cable package now, but I had a subscription for years. So to me, I’m happier to piss away $15/mo to not change a password than I am to pay for the herald.
  3. Yeah-we all vote with our wallets. I’m not paying for it, even though it’s irrelevant money.
  4. Ever wonder why there are so many left leaning publications....maybe because people not on the left don’t waste their money buying publications? personally I spend about $10k/year on wine, but I won’t pay the pennies for a subscription to the Herald...nor a few bucks on something like Time...my priorities are definitively in order.
  5. I liked the boat analogy too. Some people are in a leaky row boat, some are in a 400 foot yacht.
  6. So true- it applies to everything. It’s why experience is such a good teacher...the more miles ya got, the more opportunities you’ve had to see different perspectives. It’s also the basis of the core education requirements at a University. Furthermore it applies to sports. Too much specialization Too early in education, training or sport misses this core element of success.
  7. Agree, but it is intriguing that it has worked in some and they’ve seen cytokines storm and kowasaki...autoimmune seems to be an angle on this sumbitch.... the weirdest still remains the AcE2 deal with Arbs...I’m an exec, not a doc, but very interesting...that presser system is interesting
  8. I have nothing to do with KY or Mitch McConnell...I live in California
  9. That stat is a clear function of population and business headquarters. There is a base level of federal contribution. Takes a certain tax basis to cover it.
  10. I just don’t understand when people trade their freedom for a federal government shield....entirely dependent upon a popularity contest... the tax man and bankers invoke serfdom on the masses
  11. Let us not forget that the American revolution was fought over taxes...yes it simplifies it, but taxes were a central player. We will be facing staggering taxes coming out of this...with fewer people paying taxes...35 million unemployed... im sure the thought of bailing out the state economies of NY and CA and IL via federal tax dollars is really appealing to the red state residents. just remember how jacked up CA is....in San Francisco, poverty level is $117k/year...
  12. Orange County has stood strongest of the densely populated CA counties. I’m in Ventura, and we are also more loose than LA, with open beaches etc. props to the OC!
  13. Are you proposing the wet markets be sterilized by 2200 degree fission?
  14. There is political motivation and posturing. The most important thing for Newsome and LA Mayor is to come out of this having virtue signaled and unscathed to their supporters. Their supporters being the elites and the serfs who serve them. it is interesting, the homerun money in CA has skewed a lot of perspective. Free for all in tech and VC money, Lottery winning on houses. Many people got rich not from their salaries and saving, but from stock and real estate. When tons of money comes that way, people lose perspective.
  15. People can be very happy with very little if they have personal freedoms, a job they don’t despise, and a place of their own. Stay off the social media and Reality TV. a few beers at the lake over the weekend, maybe a camping trip with the family or the boys every so often. Local sporting event and a pizza. Dreaming of a new snow mobile or truck. A couple steaks on the grill. the elites mock this life, but the freedom and satisfaction of a simple life well-lived has sustained us for generations.
  16. I’m terrified of the economic devastation now much more than the disease. How will this ever be paid for...there will be copious amounts of personal debt written off, taxes will have to go up to fund the government spending, many low income workers will now be jobless for years, many people will lose their homes (owned and rented). I fear that socialism will fully take hold now and the independent, self-reliant nature that created America will vanish beneath a title wave of need. This lockdown will be remembered as the tipping point that crippled American exceptionalism...welcome to the global society of mediocrity.
  17. I appreciate you and understand that you are living in the hurricane. I am extremely frustrated with a response that isn’t commensurate with the threat. For example, in CA my son is more likely to die in a car accident driving to the rink than of covid, but the politicos have shut it all down. I’ve become more callous when countered with emotion. hang tough-Kiekla- I wouldn’t discount it to your face or any care givers in NYC.
  18. In other news as of this morning: in hardest hit NY, 99.86% of people have not died of covid. in CA 99.992% of people have not died of covid.
  19. Well 10 on the field for baseball and basketball, 12 for hockey, 22 for football...
  20. The irony is it already has. Unless you locked yourself in a New Zealand bunker, you have already Likely been exposed. For whatever reason you were not infected- thank your immune system, especially your skin.
  21. How many people lived passed 75 in 1968...that’s the real tell.
  22. There is no reason why 5-45 year olds should not live normal life...none. don’t visit grandna
  23. As a percentage....viruses don’t know total population or state boundaries
  24. Sorrento labs believe they have an antibody cure. Please no politician speak of this. Accelerate the trials!
  25. Bob Crane is that you? Or David Caradine?
