No, tnt, we left because we're upgrading the image of our university.

This is what i think NDSU's schedule might look like: Away: Montana State West IL SDSU UNC Saint Mary's (CA) Cal Davis Home: Cal Poly Mankato State Saint Cloud State Augustana NSIC whipping boy (< pick any team from the NSIC, it'll be a nice home victory) - or - UND (< ?? is there even a chance in hell that this game could sneak on there??)
-
That's why i used "signed" in quotations. They didn't actually sign that many recruits....they just threw them on the list of "recruits coming in".
-
The reason USB "signed" so many kids is because there are alot of walk ons.

It's not like good players can't come from small schools, i've said anything of the sort. All i said is that players from bigger schools are BETTER. Just think of the great small town players on our roster had went to a big program where their was more competition. They would be that much better.
-
Like i said, i was thinking of MN players only when i said this, i guess it doesn't apply as well to other states. Also, the ND AAA POY was Roehl. The POY goes to the best player on the state champion team. That being West Fargo, Roehl was the obvious pick, and NDSU got him.
-
We got who we wanted out of ND, the athletes with the biggest potential to suceed at D1. The other leftovers who were good in high school but don't have the potential, UND got them. As far as comparing Dressler to Roehl, just shows how foolish you are. Roehl was FB who got the ball every now and then (wasn't even the main back in a shotgun spread offense). Bismark on the other hand handed the ball to Dressler everytime and prayed he didn't get hurt. Yeah, great comparison. As for the rest, i was thinking of the MN recruits mainly. NDSU got 3 Big Ten caliber recruits. UND got some kids no one's ever heard of from low classes, Manke from DL (he lead that team to the prep bowl just like his 2 brothers....oh wait...they lost at home in the 1st round), some kid no one's heard from in Hopkins (which is a lowly program), and Yilik who is definately the best recruit UND got this year, easily. He would have got a full ride from the U (that's Minnesota) if they weren't obessed with recruiting 2nd rate players from Ohio.

No, NDSU has bigger fish to fry.
-
LOL! I hate to bring up the classes and divisions once again, but these players amassed their great stats at LOWER DIVISIONS!! I wonder how they would have done at a more competitive, higher division. LOL!
-
The sioux fans are too shocked to believe it, lol i love it!

37-23 at the half! LOL!

I actaully think the Big East would be a great place for Irish football. While they're at it, take Penn State off our hands, they're too far east and are natural rivals w/ Pitt.

Ok i was wrong about that point. But the original point still stands. Why would Carr tell us this if it is impossible to secure a conference before moving up? -

Heh, just because you're not smart enough to make a solid comeback is not my fault. I'll restate my last point. NDSU used the Carr report to see if D1 was possible financially. We disregarded the advice not to move until getting into a conference because we knew this couldn't happen. -

What part don't you understand?? They told us to get a conference 1st, move 2nd. We're moving 1st and getting a conference 2nd because the above scenario is impossible. Why didn't they tell us that? Obviously they didn't know our scenario well enough... I think the main (relative) part of the study was to see if it was FINANCIALLY POSSIBLE to move to D1. The Carr people gave the nod that it was, and Taylor, knowing that we'd never get into a conference without moving first made a solid decision. -

Like i said, they used the relative parts of the study. -

Even though...being from Florida i doubt they fully understood what was going on. -

This basically just proved our point. People from Florida have NO idea of the situation of NDSU. Gene Taylor on the other hand, does, and used parts of the Carr report that seemed relavent in his decision. -

I think he was trying to say that the administration's emotions drove the move to d1 rather than looking only at the Carr report for advice...because everyone knows that you're screwed if you don't do exactly as Carr says. -

Ok...lets say there were 3 companies. The first 2 sucked really bad. Carr only sucked slightly less, but sucked nonetheless. An expert is not a company that sucks. -

The realization that no conference were interested in us until after we moved.
