My sincerest apologies for not quoting the exact timing of the score correctly. The point I was making was that in the late stages of the game it appeared as if it would be heading to overtime.
-
I'd hate to see what would happen if UND played BC....we'd get schooled.
-
Believe it or not, the game was quite competitive. It was tied with about 3 minutes left in the game.
-
1-1, Northeastern just tied it up on BC in the Beanpot championship!
-
CC played sloppy. Poor execution on their five minute pp with 5 minutes to play in the game. Duluth won 2-1.
-
Now there's an idea! I never thought of that. That could make the shoot out more exciting and interesting!
-
I agree-I found tonight's shoot out between CC and Duluth anti-climatic and not just because CC lost. I don't like how players come to practically a slow crawl when they shoot.
-
What's up with Miami?!?! They've got to be a disappointment to their fans this season.
-
A co-worker of mine-and SCSU alum- told me that there are a few key players out due to suspension. He said a few weeks ago that he was throwing in the towel on St. Cloud...I didn't believe him, I thought-and still think-he was sand bagging.

CC and Duluth tied, 2-2. Duluth won the shoot out. Thorimbert for CC made 50 saves, was named player of the game.
-
CC's woes continue...After a good first period, they sleep walk through the second. Down 2-1 after two...got out-shot 20-2 that period. Thorimbert is standing on his head for CC.
-
1-1, in the second period between CC and Duluth. First time at Amsoil Arena, nice place to watch a game. Like the open air concourse.
-
Not sure I'd want BC....wow, they're loaded.
-
1-0, BC. PP goal. Four minutes into the game.
-
BC and BU coming up next. Don't know who we as UND fans should be pulling for, pairwise, but I wouldn't mind seeing BU knock BC off personally.
-
Anyone watching game one of the Beanpot right now? Northeastern is up 5-0 midway through the 3rd. Witt for NU is an amazing goalie! .943 save percentage is tops in the country.
-
Yah, I feel as if UND makes the tourney, they'll be playing with house money; that the pressure will be off them, particularly if they have to face a team like BC or the Gophers.
-
That's not entirely true. While it is true that the student section is rather small, CC regularly has one of college hockey's highest attendance as many local people from Colorado Springs support the program. To CC's defense, the enrollment is only 2,000 students plus the arena is very far away from campus. That said, the fan support isn't nearly as rabid as UND.
-
For as well as CC does attendance wise (student support notwithstanding), they only travel well at DU. When I'm at the NCHC tourney, I'll probably have to join that one other CC fan from Mpls in order to generate a cheering section.

Thank You!!!

Any more talk of doing a best of three at the higher seeds' home rinks for the opening round? That would certainly fill the barns plus reward the higher seeds which, I thought the powers that be would want to try to get the top seeds into the FF.
-
Remember all those years when regionals would be on campus? I believe in the late 90's, both DU and CC were number 1 seeds and their rewards were to play Michigan at Yost. I think UND was a 1 seed in '98 and had to play Michigan at Yost as well.

I saw the Sioux play at Northeastern-Matthews Arena-about five years ago. That place had an awesome atmosphere! The student section is directly behind and above the visiting goalie and they are very vocal and they have some hilarious cheers, particularly when they play BU, BC, and Harvard! They keep it clean though with their chants, which IMO takes much more talent and creativity than the typical cheers A/K/A, "Insert goalie name here three times followed by YOU SUCK $&@&!!!" All in all, just a really cool old arena (the original Boston Garden and the oldest hockey arena in the world they claim).

You're absolutely right! As disappointing as it was last spring losing to Yale, it gives me hope that almost any team can win it all given the right chemistry, timing, effort, and skill.
