  1. Oops....well analytics you know
  2. I have never heard that, nor is it listed as a component in the Pairwise metrics. And it would make sense that a 7-2 win would count more than a 3-2 win but that's not the case either.
  3. There are other players that are not performing at the level they did last year based on the numbers. 28 got his first point in the 9th game of the season. 18 has 2 points. 29 has 2 points. 8 has 8 points (.47 pt/gm vs .62 last year). No that doesn't necessarily mean they won't pick it up in the second half but it has certainly contributed to the team's record to this point. No I'm not in with the blame Berry crowd. It has been a very tough schedule - we are currently #5. A bounce or two our way could be the difference in being under .500 vs a winning record, but what seems to be really leading to losses is bone-headed plays. No look passes that end up on the stick of a player on the other team, losing puck battles, shooting the puck into the shinpads of a player three feet away leading to a breakaway or odd man rush. Poor goaltending is obviously a big part of the problem.
  4. If you look at plus/minus, there were four players that were minus last season (full season stats/not including players no longer on the team) and this year there are eight (not including freshmen/transfers). Gaber -6, Frisch -7 and Kleven -8. Gaber is at least scoring but I don't think there's much question Frisch and Kleven are not playing at the same level they did last season.
  5. I'm afraid I've lost any hope for this season. I would regain some hope if they were to sweep WMU. Bwahahahaha.
  6. Good goaltending can win games for a mediocre team. It seems we have the mediocre team part of the equation.
  7. Yes, they have. Very unusual for so early in the year but they seem to work well together.
  8. IIRC UND was tied or lead about 115 minutes in that series.
  9. Pairwise is 24
  10. #23 North Dakota? I realize they got some votes, but I've never seen a number ranking greater than 20.
  11. I see lots of carts in front of lots of horses. We will know more in a few days. Maybe withhold judgement until the facts are.......nah, never mind.
  12. Isn't there a thread for this topic????
  13. A positive from last weekend was all the goals scored were even strength. The flip side, unfortunately, was no PP goals.
  14. IIRC, Jost leaving after one season at UND was strictly a financial decision. Single mom and not a wealthy family.
  15. A couple of thoughts about the team. They were so bad Saturday that I quit watching when DU scored to make it 5-2. It was painfully obvious that there was no way UND would win that game. It looked like a bunch of 12 year-olds playing. Is DU that good or UND that bad or somewhere in the middle? So I looked at strength of schedule today thinking that we've played three teams in the top five in the current poll. Surely we are number one in SOS. Ah, no. 17. Makes no sense. A home series against Miami is coming at a good time. Sweep and get some swagger back!
  16. And picked up a five and game.....
  17. I thought they played a decent game, although several mistakes that either turned into goals or could have. The third goal was very weak. Denver looks like a better team.
  18. I can't get it
