  1. I agree. Travis Zajac should have been rated higher than No. 1 last year and Brady Murray should have been ranked higher than No. 1 in 2003. When will North Dakota's hockey program get the respect it deserves?

Besides that, INCH likes to take shots at Grand Forks any time it gets a chance. They have also had some feature articles that have been nothing but a complete joke. Remember the one about the goalies a couple years ago that basically said Karl Goehring never won a big game for the Sioux??

  2. Having 4 forwards on that list is pretty impressive for the Sioux, but let's face it, if Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Bobby Orr all were 18 again and coming to the Sioux, INCH would still list them well down on that chart.

  3. That's really great to hear!  Thanks for the update, mike.

That is very good news, it has me fired up just reading it.

If any of you haven't met or heard Mr. Buning speak, he is a very animated person who is really fun to talk with.

  4. Defense looked great.  Didn't do anything too special.  Didn't really sack the QB or blitz a ton, just maintained pressure.

They didn't do anything special? How many interceptions? A returned INT for a TD. They gave the offense great field position numerous times. After reading your post, you make it sound like we almost lost that game or something.

  5. It may be addictive to some people, but I'm apparently immune to it. I find caffiene to be much more addictive in my personal experiences. Like I stated previously, I think almost anything in life can be addictive. TV, the internet, biting your finger nails, sex... and the list goes on. I just don't get why non-smokers have this idea that smoking is so much more addictive than anything else in life. Have you ever smoked? Have you ever tried to quit? In my experience it was incredibly easy to quit. I would not be able to give up caffiene or the internet as easily as I gave up smoking. I wouldn't even be able to allow myself to indulge once every two or three months like I do with smoking. I need caffiene and the internet each and every day of my life.

It might have been easy for you, but it is a very very tough struggle for people who are addicted to quit. Even Big Tobacco admits nicotine is addictive, but for some reason, you don't think it is that big of a problem.

  6. To say it is addictive is just silly. I used to smoke from the time I was in high school till I was in my mid '20s. Then one day about 10 years ago I decided it was costing me too much money so I abruptly quit. Ever since that day I have considered it a guilty pleasure that I indulge in only on the rare occassions that I go out drinking with friends.

Do you work for big Tobacco?

    Nicotine isn't addictive?

  7. I do hope you're right.  He did look great in spots last year.  However, Strouth had his moments against Weschester....

I know they played Central Washington and West Chester? Did they play someone else also? lol

  8. It was interesting to follow the city of Grand Forks and their discussions about the smoking ban. At the beginning, the city council talked about restrictions that would be tougher than the state law, but as time passed and the actual law came before the city council, they ended up passing a law that was just about the same as the state smoking ban.

I would have liked to see an across the board ban as well.

  9. CRR made a good point about the small town places that are now affected.  My snowmobile club has been contacted by many small town bars that there will be no more -21 people allowed this winter.  Ever since I've been running snowmobiles (lots of years folks), kids warming up and having a burger or pop alongside adults has been the norm in "small-town bars" across the countryside.  It appears that this year they'll be staying home... or packing a sack lunch.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

There are so many examples of this in small towns that it makes me sick.

  10. I agree with you MafiaMan. I'm not trying to say that I think we should fight the tribes over this and drag everything and everyone in the mud, I just get frustrated by your point that his country seems to cater to the minority more and more.

  11.   I just don't want UND fighting for freedom of speech if the tribes, as a whole, are against the use of the name.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I couldn't disagree more. How come it is all right for a minority group to play the "freedom of speech" card for whatever they feel like, even when they are in the clear minority, but when the majority talks about using it, now we must step back and ask ourselves "is it the right thing to do?"

  12. Interesting to note that it has already caused Bonzer's to apply for a different liquor license. They will now be a 21 and older bar/sandwich pub, Therefore you can still smoke in there, but you have to be 21 to go in. This law has really hurt some small town supper clubs that are the only place in town to get a good meal for a family. A lot of them have just changed to restricing anyone under 21 from coming in, so they can continue to allow smoking.
