  1. I long for those days when dining services once controlled the concessions............. NOT
  2. what a curse Jon Casey, Ed Belfour, Karl Goehring What a curse
  3. ok boys, time to start playing nice or you'll have to each spend time standing in the corner.
  4. They did have to draw a line somewhere and limit the amount of student season tickets sold. We don't need the situation we had a couple of years ago, with those good ol rush seats.
  5. The Sicatoka I really agree with your statment. Why shouldn't a person pay more to see game that has more appeal and more demand than other games? The Herald and others make it seem that UND is the first school ever to do this. If people don't want to pay it, don't. No one is forcing anyone to hand over 27 dollars.
  6. airmail I felt exactly the same way you did about it. When we win some games in the season, INCH will still want to be talking about the goaltenders.
  7. One of these days, they are going to take a chance on Karl and it will pay off.
  8. I thought the editorial was not researched very well either. He failed to mention that hockey charges different prices for different opponents. The Herald editorial staff still hates the nickname, so they will continually hold a grudge against the university and especially against their athletic teams
  9. The tailgating issue in Fargo is really a joke. NDSU alumni, supporters, and students ( over the age of 21 of course) really need to let their voice be heard. The Forum had some funny quotes in today's paper regarding people's frustrations over the tailgating issue. Why would they make tailgating an issue now? Especially when NDSU needs their supporters behind them in every way.
  10. http://insidecollegehockey.com/7Archives/N...s/wcha_0204.htm Any comments?
  11. Great to see the coverage on Travis. Can't wait to watch him play for the Wild!!!
  12. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforkshe...ion/6863903.htm Two editorials in one week ripping Sioux Football. What is up with this?
  13. "Here's another recent example. The much-celebrated inaugural issue of "Fighting Sioux Illustrated" features prominently a comic list of "Top 10 Reasons to Read" the publication. The top reason, understandably, pokes fun at our rivals to the south: "Because there is already a Bison Illustrated. It's called the Farmer's Almanac" If that above quote isn't comical, I don't know what is. They are so pissed off at the name issue that they have to bring our new magazine into the discussion. What a joke, I read the blurb in the Herald and almost fell over laughing.
  14. I was told the ones that choose to be are on a waiting list and they will have to fend for tickets now just like the other students. Is this true?
  15. My question is this, what will UND and The Ralph do down the road (hopefully way down the road) when the sioux might suffer a losing season or two and season tickets fall way off. Are people going to pay 27.50 to watch a losing team play? Yes, the die hard and true fans will, but that might only take up a third of the building.
  16. I contacted DirecTV and they said that Victory is a startup-regional sports channel and there had been no decision to add it to its lineup at this time.
  17. sprig My fault, the deal is with Victory Sports One. "Victory Sports has secured a 10 year agreement to carry Twins Baseball. In addition to 100-plus Twins games, Victory will carry the following exclusive sports telecasts beginning in October of this year: 20 University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Men's Basketball games 3-4 University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Football games beginning in 2004 More than 30 Big Ten Basketball games which will feature the Univ. of Iowa 9 times and the Univ. of Wisconsin 12 times More than 20 St. Cloud State and Minnesota State- Mankato Hockey games 2 High School Basketball and Hockey (boys and girls) games per week ESPNews 14 NCAA football games Variety of outdoor programming" As you can see, there will be some St. Cloud and Mankato hockey games. Sorry about the confusion I caused.
  18. I hear Sicily has a powerhouse team this year.
  19. sprig - I get emails from the Twins, regarding tickets and other special events. I just got an email from them two days ago talking about the new tv contract that they and also the gophers signed to broadcast games over the next couple of years. It also listed numbers and email addresses for television companies across Minnesota, Nodak, and Sodak. And yes, the Fighting Sioux sports network are still broadcasting home games on the Midco station. CSTV is going to carry a national game of the week for college hockey, and it would be fun to be able to watch other teams play.
  20. redwing77 The Sioux are not playing in Fargo. We are not going to debate where they should play, because it is not going to happen. Obviously a screw up in the SI article. The first post actually sounded serious so I thought I would have some fun with it. Yeah, like we are going to say, "lets not play in our beautiful arena this weekend, how about we load everything up and go to Fargo and play in one of their rinks." lol
  21. The Sicatoka - What an interesting article. The quote from the Duke Associate AD is very intriguing to say the least. This could get very exciting to watch over the next couple of years.
  22. At the risk of sounding petty and self-interested, why is it that SDSU is more worried about what UND is doing and how bad DII's future looks to them, than focusing on their own big move. So much hostility in your posts tony. I would think you would be very happy and celebrating your jump up to DI.
  23. I just found out that because of the bad ice in direct result to the severe sloping of the ground where the rink is set up by Centennial, that the game will be played only on the north half of the ice. Rules and other details are still being ironed out at this moment.
  24. So let me get this straight, SDSU is making the move to D 1, and since we are from UND, we can't comment? It is their choice, they are leaving, but just because we comment on it, doesn't mean you have to "question our motivation". It seems to me that there is a lot more opposition to the move at SDSU than at NDSU, and if we want to talk about it here, we can.
  25. Yeah, we are going down and playing on their outdoor rink by Centennial School in South Fargo. The game has also been changed to the afternoon, because there are no lights. Hopefully, the beer gardens will be heated.
