Kett was completing a lot but they were all short passes, never really tried to stretch the field when he was in. The passing game didn't come alive until Zimm started attacking downfield. Makes me wonder if everything short was a product of play-calling or if Kett only wanted to go short.

The REA is one of the top facilities and they continually work to upgrade and keep it at that level, you saying others are comparable leads me to believe you pretty much just hate anything UND.

It wasn't so much he lost a step as teams knew how to scheme against the UND run game, they were keying on Santiago to stop those big runs.

I'd take that offense over most everyone we have on roster right now.

UND offensive coaches should be looking at the Oklahoma offense to see how to run from a spread. But that said, every running game starts with the offensive line and this offensive line simply can't run block. It hurts seeing an inside zone play and there's not a single gap to go through.

You start to see the lack of depth on the d-line late in games but the defense performed very well today. I give Schmidt all sorts of credit for his second half adjustments. The lone SHSU td in the 2nd half was pretty much just from the defense being gassed and missing tackles. Schuster did well for this first collegiate action. If he's the guy for next week I'm interested to see how he performs with a week of practice with the 1's. He showed flashes, but his interception was just a bad throw. The offensive line needs to figure out how to run block. We absolutely need to find a running attack and it all starts with the line.

Yes actually because we were in complete control until our offense disappeared and our defense remembered they have no idea how to handle a running QB. Same issues as always which leads to being pissy.

No call on the targeting but late hit is still BS. Maybe the officials can make it up by calling the holding that Sam Houston keeps getting away with on just about every run.

Yeah, that was a BS call from the moment the flag was thrown. Any other player on the field other than the QB and that flag would never have been thrown.

Sadly this is the high end of normal nowadays. Can't fault Bubba for putting in Schuster, this offense is pass first and if he's the best option to throw the ball you have to go with him. Maybe we get lucky, Schuster gets comfortable and he just blossoms. Or he plays like a freshman and we have to rely on the defense to keep the clamp locked down.
