I don't think it's so much lack of knowledge by Schmidt but pride. He thinks his base defense should be able to stop anything but it obviously struggles against certain things. Then it's further hubris to not adjust until the last minute.

Schmidt, take Jade Lawrence, step him off the line here, and tell him his only responsibility is containing the QB.

If Rudolph is still the OC next season I think I'm going to stop watching. I have tried to watch every single game for years, I went to every game when I lived in Grand Forks, but this is disgusting football to watch.

This offense is freaking atrocious. The run game is completely down because PSU has no fear of the pass. 3rd and 10 and we ran a 1 yard route.

Another big turnover when PSU was driving yet again! Defense is feasting on the turnovers right now.

PSU could drop back to pass the rest of the game and then let the QB run away from the blitz. We can't seem to contain him at all.

I wasn't blaming the defense for the pathetic game. The offense deserves all the blame, but it wasn't like the defense was playing lights out either. Case in pointer, 3rd and 13 and the QB runs for an easy first down. No one in the middle to stop him.

Defense gets it, we needed that so badly. Maybe that'll give some momentum which we can use, give the defense some swagger and get them looking like the first couple series.

PSU defensive coordinator is having the time of his life calling against this Rudolph offense.

Every time PSU has gotten points it's because they fail to contain the QB. So many times they have been in position to get the QB down and they wiff on a sack or lose containment, QB gets out and gets a first down. March down the field.

I don't think Schmidt has ever heard of a QB spy.

How many times are our outside backers going to take themselves out of the play by crashing down too hard on those QB runs.

I'm fully in the crowd of putting in someone other than Kett. Offense has completely stagnated, inject new blood. Misplay on ST, should have been down at the 1.

Getting 250 yards on the ground is all well and good but if you can't put up points and if you only have 50 passing yards, your offense is still not good.

Can we trade PSU for one of their QB's?

Really at this point lets look at what the other QB's on our roster can do. Kett got lucky not to be picked again. Never looked away from that receiver. Anyone else noticing the PSU defenders doing quite a bit of after tackle pushing and shoving?

Defense needs to adjust to the QB. Need to keep contain.
