  1. Lot's of discussion on "agville" about Carlson and the name issue. I thought they had "moved on."
  2. Below are some posts on the Forum's Bison media blog. My stomach hurts for laughing. Enjoy! 1. The Beatles sang:
  3. Don't be surprised if this is UND's breakout game. I'm keeping the faith.
  4. It was mentioned that Sioux football has been in the Alerus for the past ten years. With that said the turf at Memoridal seems to be in good condition. Was it replaced after the move to indoor football? What am I missing? I'm a recent newcomer to the GF area and I must say that old stadium looks to have a lot of character and history within it's walls. I wouldn't mind seeing a game there. I can only imagine what tailgating would be like outside! Go Sioux!
  5. Moscow is located on what is called the Columbia River Plateau. Lots of mountains in the 4500 ft range yet the city itself is around 2600 ft so elevation is a factor that should not affect the Sioux a great deal. I would encourage Sioux fans to make the trip. In addition, Pullman, WA (home of Washington State) is less than 10-miles away. I would also recommend fly fishing at nearby Troy Reservoir. Go Sioux!
  6. Rider: Well stated. I, too, have been following the upgrades of the staduims. In additon Ottawa and Nova Scotia will more than likely be fielding teams in the near future. The CFL is just plain fun to watch and I'm very happy for Weston. I get a kick out of the message board to the south and how they bash the CFL for the simple reason that a former Sioux is a standout in that league. Yet, at the same time, they are all hyped up about some minor league summer basketball program.
  7. On a side note I have been looking at the web pages for all of the CFL teams and, wow, those CFL cheerleaders play second fiddle to no one in the NFL!
  8. Great wallpaper shot of Weston at this link. http://www.riderville.com/page/desktop_wallpapers
  9. I have been here for less than a year but whenever I read a post from this lakes guy the quote that comes to mind is from Forrest Gump: "You can't fix stupid!"
  10. Reading the Fargo Forum blogs this morning and I think our neighbors to the south are longing for the "good old days" when the Forum was running one story after another about the Fighting Sioux nickname. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, what goes around - comes around.
  11. I wonder if that photo will go in the NDSU recruiting handbook?
  12. Get as many recruits as possible to a Sioux hockey game in the Ralph and let them feel that excitement. Excitement they will get at few other schools. Before moving here from Oregon I had never seen a college hockey game. Now I'm completely hooked! My first passion is football but hockey is catching up. Thank you UND and thank you Fighting Sioux for exposing me to that kind of exciting play.
  13. SiouxMD: Nice work. Thank you! Please keep us posted on the teams that are still playing. Texas Tech will be in a bowl game. Thanks again.
  14. Where can I find the start times and does anyone know which games will be televised or webcast? (Thanks)
  15. This is great. Blogs from today's (11-19-2009) Fargo Forum article titled: "Tribal chairman: No quick resolution on Sioux nickname" sldf s. West Fargo, ND 11/19/2009 10:49 AM its finally over. charles murphy wrote an anti nickname letter in 199. NO ONE FROM SUMMIT LEAGUE HAS SAID THEY WOULD TAKE UND? WHY DO YOU KEEP REPORTING THIS?? Darrell S. Cheyenne, WY 11/19/2009 12:19 PM sldf s.:
  16. Jim Shaw of Fox News in Fargo was guest hosting on KFGO this morning. He read a letter, allegedly, from Charles Murphy regarding the Sioux logo and nickname that he supposedly wrote in the late 90's disapproving of the Logo and nickname. Does anyone know if that letter is for real or a hoax?
  17. (Quote from the Fargo Forum) Let's see: Sioux Falls defeated UND, Cal Poly defeated SDSU. UND handed it to Cal Poly. SDSU is undefeated in the Missouri Valley. That means Sioux Falls would own the MVFC! Great job Fighting Sioux!!!
  18. Check out the lastest Massey Ratings: www.masseyratings.com (If this is already in another post then I apologize for the duplication.)
  19. I believe the Sioux Falls game was an aberration. (Taking nothing away from the Cougars; they played well and deserved to win.) However, the Sioux have the talent and experience to rebound. I'm guessing a close game and the Sioux win by a field goal.
  20. When I was a sophomore in high school we were trailing our arch rival in our homecoming game 49-0 with three minutes to play in the 1st quarter. However, we rallied and held them under 100. We took pride in the fact that we kept it even until the National Anthem. Hey, Sioux fans, it can always be worse. Next week is a fresh start. Go Sioux!
  21. Make no mistake, that was/is a very good Sioux Falls team.
  22. Fill me in please. The name "lakesbison" keeps appearing. Who or what is this individual all about? I have read some of his/her posts in the Forum and Herald. Is this some Jr. High student with too much time on his hands in study hall? His/her communication skills reek of an elementary student. Just wondering. If he represents NDSU I would be embarrassed.
  23. Stop it! My stomach hurts from laughing!!!!

My first ever Sioux football game today. I'm really stoked! This will also be my first ever football game in a dome. I grew up an Oregon Ducks fan and the cold and rain of Eugene, at times, was only for the most die hard fans. Can't wait for kickoff!
  25. This may be my last post. I'm 100% German. Remember me with an Oktoberfest brew before it's banned!
