Which is so absurd. If he keeps doing what he is doing, I hope to see him around for another 10-20 years. I think he is a great coach, only thing missing is a National Title, and it will come.

I don't know much about this kid, but based on what I have read this sounds like it would be a good pick up if we can land him.

Its fun to see the Sioux with a #1 next to their name, but this really is meaningless at this point. They should be able to hold the spot through next week with Lake Superior State coming up. After this hot of a start, I am really hoping they can pull off the patented second half run, but the schedule will get much tougher after this weekend.

Not sure how alot of the Juco Transfer process works, or who they have a shot at getting, but the running back from Eden Prairie last year went to Iowa Western and that kid has some size. (Anthony Anderson). Again, not sure if that is a kid that has a shot at FCS or FBS, but I remember watching him tear it up for EP.

Miami vs UND, in football, would be hilarious. I would love to see us get to a level where we are competitive annually; but we have a LONG ways to go.

Well I would have to say 2011. I was actually a huge Gopher fan until I went up to school in Grand Forks in the fall of '03. Grew up with season tickets at Mariucci, then saw the light when I went to college! I'll cheer for the Goofs in football, basketball, wrestling, etc. (As long as we aren't playing them). But I could not dislike that hockey team more.

Ha true, but that was such a fun season, what a great and deep team. Still I think we can do some serious damage this year. Hopefully Mac will be able to bounce back from his wrist injury by January.

For those who were asking about FCS; UND's website posted about a half hour ago that the Saturday game will be on FCS. Here what the website says: GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) announced today that 11 NCHC games have been added to the league’s national television schedule on FOX College Sports (FCS) in 2014-15, including seven involving the University of North Dakota. The five home games, produced in high-definition by Midco Sports Network (MidcoSN), include games against Miami (Nov. 15), Omaha (Nov. 29), Colorado College (Jan. 24), Denver (Feb. 14) and St. Cloud State (Feb. 28). Dan Hammer is his third season as the play-by-play voice for UND Athletics while former UND forward Scott Koberinski returns as color analyst. Veteran broadcaster Katie Hale also returns as the ice-level intermission reporter. UND will also have two road games air nationally on FCS: the Jan. 31 game at Omaha, produced by PBS affiliate Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET1), and the March 7 game at Miami, produced by Time Warner Cable Sports Channel in Ohio. Its already been said, but Miami certainly can have a potent offense when they are clicking. A solid test for our D and Goaltending. Key for UND will be preventing Miami from getting a hot start. It seems like if you let Miami get a little momentum they will capitalize on it and run away with the game. Not a team you want to have to come back on from down a few goals. Here is to a good series.

As bad as UND played on opening night (and they played terrible), I was really surprise at how well Bemidji played. They could definitely push the Mavs this season for the WCHA. Lets hope they get a good start this weekend and knock off the Goofs.

I don't even want to read this thread because it frustrates me so much. The Fighting Sioux name is no longer on the uniforms, but the the city, school, and alumni still identify by it. Stick with University of North Dakota and leave it at that. It would make everyone happy. Unfortunately, Kelly will make them adopt something stupid and politcally correct ... makes you miss Kupchella. I'll have a hard time cheering for the UND Aeros, Force, Spirit, Cavalry, or any other stupid option he throws out there. I would love my kids to go there some day, so long as he isn't there any more. That guy should never have been brough in as President of the school.

Haha, some of them have. Obviously it wouldn't be the typical NDSU vs. FBS game, but if there was an FCS program that could even compete with Bama it would be the Bison. You just can't argue with their success or the program they have built ... it is impressive. I only hope UND can take some strides towards that type of success and competitiveness. Unfortunately, we are now starting over with Bubba, but it was still a move in the right direction. Go Sioux!

I see the game will be on ESPN3, does anyone know if Fox College Sports will pick it up? Is FCS picking up any football games this season, it isn't mentioned on UNDs website?
