I always remember hearing it was really intimidating to play there. With so much less open space, I could see it getting really loud in there. I ran into Dan Woog a few years back and talked hockey with him, he said playing there, it was like the fans were right on top of you. We can hope for some of that environment this weekend. Side note: Dan also said he learned some interesting facts, from the fans, about his mother, family, and why he made the team when he came up to play against the Sioux. Pretty nice guy.

Naturally, hosting in the Ralph would have been tremendous, but it should still be a pretty solid environment in Scheels. I am hoping that with the size of the building, it may actually get louder in there. Can anyone offer a comparison of the size or build of the arena to the old Ralph? I never made it to a game there but I always hear it was a really intimidating environment. Does Scheels compare in size, or was the old Ralph still way bigger?

Can we get a packed house from 11:30 to 3:00, with nothing but the SIV chant going?

Aside from us just needing to win, It wouldn't hurt to see Tech and St Cloud play a high paced, triple OT game either.

I thought I read that the top seed had a preference. I assume coaches wan't to give the guys extra rest time by playing the early game on Friday. And if thats not the actual reason, it is an added benefit.

I have not followed the basketball chatter very closely recently, but I feel like I would have noticed this. Did Jones get fired, or was someone just messing up Wikipedia entries? That being said, if this is indeed false, is Jones expected back next season? Wikipedia Brian Jones is the former head coach for the men's basketball team at the University of North Dakota. Was fired after an abysmal season and a terrible nine years. He is a graduate of University of Northern Iowa. Jones was a longtime assistant on the coaching staffs of Steve Alford. While working with Alford, he participated in the Division I NCAA Tournament 4 times, once with Southwest Missouri St. and 3 times with Iowa. Jones was named the 18th head coach of the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux basketball program on May 25, 2006. Under Jones' tenure at North Dakota, the University won back-to-back Great West Tournament Championships in 2011 and 2012, and he has led UND to three consecutive appearances in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

Agreed, best game I've seen out of LJ in a while, and I didn't even see once of his patented whifs tonight. Had good shots and created good opportunities. The kid could still have a great UND career if he keeps it up; playoff time is a good time to pick up your game. Go Sioux!

Doesn't really matter, Hak will have them playing as hard as they do every other night. I'd say keep on winning as you go into the NCAA tourney, don't want to take a step back now.
