Money spent in this process should be about getting it done right, and making the best decision that appeases the most people. Not creating change, just to say you did something. Lets say that 30 or even 40% of the submissions are for UND? you don't think that should be a final option for voting, because its not change? Or lets say it is one of the final options and 60 or 70% vote for it; you think the committee should override it because money was invested and they want something different? The bottom line is when they retired Fighting Sioux, it stung alot of people (Not UNDs fault I know). If this is going to be a voting setup, and they are taking suggestions, the final options should be the names that people suggest the most (providing that they are acceptable and cannot be deemed offensive by the PC crowd). If 90% of the voters pick the UND Howler Monkeys, its the same logic and the majority should rule; but I don't think you will find an overwhelming percentage that will decide on a single name or mascot over the University of North Dakota. And no, I did not submit the UND Howler Monkeys

If University of North Dakota is not one of the three final options, then this entire process is corrupt (which it probably is). That has been far and away the most suggested option I have heard from alumni and fans, and seen on the posting boards. I know it has been submitted, and I'm sure it has been submitted the most. If it is not one of the final options, then we can thank president dip#$&% (the university one, not the country one). University of North Dakota has served well over the past few years; lets just leave it at that. Great to see, I always wondered why we had such undersized RBs. Always seemed liked we had some pretty short corners too. No doubt he has changed this in his recruiting. I think all, if not most, of our DB recruits this year were around 6'3"-6'4". He really improved the Def. last season and I hope it continues; he has done a really nice job with this team on paper, and hopefuly it continues to transpire on the field.

I saw an interesting comment on twitter: Zane could take a lead, as many of the eastern voters would be split between Vesey and 1 and done Eichel. Not sure if that will actually happen, but it is an interesting twist on what initially looked like was a 1 man race.

Blais probably wouldn't have that record if he was at UND. UND was already established. He has had to recruit and build that program from where it was.

I like Blais, but I just cannot stand Austin Ortega. He goes to the net, but do you ever see him back check? He just coasts in his own zone lazily, and I am so sick of hearing "California Hot Sauce". I hope he gets lit up if we play them. Shut them down, and go get #8.

Haha so far I have managed to waste a good part of the morning reading articles, talking Sioux and Wild hockey, and bulking up my fantasy hockey lineup.

Its is here! One of the top 3 least productive work days of the year! Yesterday was spent setting up my bracket pool, today will be reading all of the NCAA hockey material that is out there and looking forward to the games, with a little work sprinkled in. Haha, well I'm not one of those to blame Hak for anything. He has done a tremendous job over his tenure. Who can blame him for '11. That one will always hurt.

The way Omaha has cooled off and the way Harvard has heated up. I would be surprised to see Omaha do much. Doesn't mean they cant, but the need zombo and massa to play, and a lot of guys to get back to what they were doing. That being said, Harvard wins and Mankato wins the region.

BTW thanks alot Mafia. I remember watching the game against BU that year, and you made me realize it was TEN YEARS AGO!!!! I was getting drunk in a dorm room with buddies; this weekend I'll be watching while trying to get my kids down to bed, then probably going to sleep shortly after the game. Haha, not complaining at all, but where the hell did 10 years go?

Yep, I mentioned the game against BU in my initial post. That was 10 years ago, since then we have struggled out east. Again, not implying that necessarily means anything for this year.Different year, different players, different team. Just saying that playing a tough BU team in there back yard would not be easy. Personally, I think if the guys play Sioux hockey, like they had been prior to last weekend, They will do just fine. Maybe we just ask O'Donnell to get at least one goal in each game
