Stats bumps us to #17 Neither Weber or USD get into the top 25 Stony Brook at #22 MT at #16 Poly at #14 EWU at #3 Somehow Montana St. has more votes than Northern Arizona. Figure that one out.

Any chance, Fox College Sports, Fox Sports North or Fox Sport North Plus picks up this series? A No.1 vs No.2 series, I would think that would be worth of TV.
-
I know there are some West Fargo bars. Spitfire Bar and Grill is owned by a UND guy and the games are on there. Great food too.

Poor Finley! Been years since he left and he still take it on the chin ... in the clip and on this board. haha
-
Brian looks like a pre-schooler when his helmet would fall off and he played the part to. I think that kids was just terrified he might take a fist to the face. Rest of the team would be brawlin and he would just lock up with a guy and skate backwards. Finley, was just too slow. I remember him getting torched against Denver. Not that you can expect a guy that big be very fast. For as big as he was, I think it was presumed he would have been a little more of an enforcer. He just like to grab guys by the should pads and try to shake them to the ground. Kind of funny in retrospect, but i suppose if he had ever thrown a punch he may have killed someone.

NCHC just tweeted back to me that the Roku app is still on track for early Nov (11/4 and 11/5) Probably not an issue for many, as those games against the gophers will be on TV, but should be good to go for the DU series. Hopefully without too many hiccups.

Really nice article on HERO. Brian has been giving UND quite a bit of exposure this season which is great to see. Stating the coaching staff is putting together easily one of the top FCS recruiting classes in the nation. Those are pretty hefty compliments of what Bubba and crew are doing. Also liked what Ott and Seguin had to say. I think we've all heard how good Ott can be, but Seguin looks like he could be a total beast! http://herosports.com/news/north-dakota-recruiting-adds-next-stars-fcs-college-football

Got it, I wasn't on the threads much this weekend. Thought a lot of this was from 1 comment I had on Peski. Oh well. On to Duluth!!! Maybe a repeat of last season!

I'm not ready to go all North Dakota State Agricultural Community College on the bit yet. Its not a matter of who needs whom, but how important are rivalries, and what do fans like. Do we NEED them on the schedule, no, but it does make for a fun game for fan who have loved the rivalry for years; on both sides of the fan base. It'll definitely be a money maker. Mariucci will be sold out ... with plenty of Green in the stands. Its the same reason Bubba agreed to go to Fargo twice to play the Bison. I guess, I'm not bothered by the fact that we go there first, as they come right back up next season, and I'm really pumped for the Vegas game. I wouldn't say the Bison NEED us, they have done just fine; but the rivalry games certainly add another element to the season. Gopher are their own worst enemy. They have plenty of talent, but don't have a coach that can put it together anymore. Lucia has a great record over the year, but I think they need to pull a Wisconsin and clean house. Wisconsin needed to move on from Eaves 4 or 5 years ago.

Nobody has been calling out freshman repeatedly ... there hasn't even been time for that. Stating what you see in a game isn't calling someone out as a whipping boy. A player makes a mistake, A fan notices it .... this is a flippin message board, we're here to talk about the team and the games. Calling out some turnovers or mistakes is a far cry from starting a Fire Hak, Boo Berry, or similar thread against a specific player. I don't recall reading anywhere that were were only supposed to post compliments and warm fuzzies on here. You're taking a few simple statements and turning it into people completely bashing freshman. What wrong with discussing the ups AND DOWNS that we saw over the weekend? When someone starts a "Bench Peski" thread or something to that effect, especially after a few games, I'll totally agree with you, but we haven't seen anything even remotely close to that on here.
-
I completely agree. As I said before, I am hoping he learned from some of those mistake, as the competition will ramp up and the better team will look for these situations to take advantage of them. I don't think anyone has said anything to write the kid off a few games into the year. Acknowledging that mistakes were made in the game is far different from condemning the team or individual players. Obviously Peski wasn't the only person with mistakes or struggles. There was quite a bit of sloppy play this weekend. UND looked brilliant at times, and abysmal at times. Important thing is we get the non conference wins and then LEARN as we go into next week.
-
Don't be ridiculous. The women play in Ridder arena, and draw way more fans.
-
I was just stating a few plays that stood out to me. Those plays involved Peski. Not sure why this is getting jumped on. I didn't say Peski was the only guys that made any mistakes.

^This! I'm hoping the close game in Idaho is a blessing in disguise, we didn't earn any style points, but hopefully it lights a fire under the guys. Particularly under the offensive line. I was surprise how quickly ISU was able to penetrate the light. It seem like Oliveira and Norberg were just lunging to try to get anything. Regardless, I just hope it put the season in perspective for these guys. Easy to lose a bit of a competitive edge after a long win streak. Hopefully this bring them back to earth a little but. So pumped for Weber, hope we can win this one with some style points

Big time game. Weber has not had the toughest schedule yet. They have wins against the bottom 4 teams in the conference and 5 of the bottom 6. We have beat 4 of the bottome 6 teams, with our other win against Cal Poly. We beat USD, they almost beat USD. This game could come down to team matchups. Could be close, could be a blowout. I'll be interested to see how our injuries look over the next few days. Having Reyes back would be huge! Hopefully Cieslak is ok too. Absolutely have to get the running game going early this week. We've seen just how much it opens up our passing game. Studs just needs to keep doing what he is doing. He has played very nicely.
-
ok lets be clear guys, I was not trying to turn peski into a whipping boy after 5 games. I was just saying that he, as a freshman, made a few rookie mistakes. Point being, I hope he learned from them, as our competition will get better and will continue to capitalize on those kinds of mistakes. I'm not saying he was the only one to make mistakes, just saying that a few of his plays stood out, and I noticed his name was call when those mistakes happened. Tough part for him and other freshman, is that mistakes tend to be glaring after watching such a dominant D core just a season ago. I have total faith in these guys and the coaches to train up the D throughout the season. Next few weeks will be a big time challenge, and hopefully a great learning opportunity. Just hoping small mistakes don't cost us games.

They earned their lashings.

For those questioning the prices to the Gopher/Sioux hockey game. Just look at this picture that was tweeted out by Chirps to Gophers this weekend. They have to be taking a hit, and are I'm sure trying to recoup some of their revenue. This is going to be an extremely hostile environment ..... for the Goofs. I'll be there Saturday night, not sure about Friday yet, but I'm expect this to be similar to when UND goes to Denver. Hope we can get the first goal because it'll get loud in there. Wish they served beer in the arena.
-
Hey, I'm not saying Peski will be bad. BUT he has been the source of some pretty bad turnovers in his own end, 1 or 2 which led directly to the other team scoring. I'm sure the kid will be fine, and is just taking a little time to adjust. I did mention that I attribute some of our inconsistency and vulnerability to youth and that I'm sure it will be cleaned up throughout the season. BUT I hope these guys don't make too many of those kinds of mistakes over the next few weeks, given our schedule. I'm thrilled we are 5-0 and haven't dropped any bad games yet, but that won't be the case against Duluth, MN and Denver. That's a scary few weeks and a ton of talent.
-
My stream worked great this weekend. Hope whatever they did is fixed for the season.
-
MT may be a bit overrated this year, though they would still give us a hell of a game, especially with their heavy pass offense. EWU has completely earned their ranking. They have dominated almost everyone, taken the defending 5 time Nat'l champ to OT, and looked the part of a champion. Yes, their D could be much better, but their offense makes up for it.
-
Hey, as long as the lights are on for the start of the game we can all just be happy that it is college hockey season. Yes, UND has played well against Duluth for the most part over the last year or so, minus last spring. BUT UND has not looked tremendous yet this year. We have shown flashes, but have lacked consistency, which I will attribute to youth .... for now. Definitely some defensive vulnerability ... ahem, Peski! I am sure these guys will gel and play better by the end of the season, but UMD will be a solid test early in the season. I hope we play well, because then it is on to MN, who I hope we destroy, especially Sat. night when I am there. Then onto DU. Needless to say, it'll be a tough stretch. Hope our team wins, grows and develops. I'll take ugly wins, just win. Thanks for stoppin by Biddco

I'll share in the blame. Or my wife will. I told her to put my son in his und shirt this morning, as he has worn it the last several weekends. She didn't. She had already lined it up for next Saturday
