  1. Don't hate on the Bronco. At one time that was a very publicized vehicle. Mainly because of OJ, but still
  2. I guess I would prefer that people learn to cope with stress like any other adult. Maybe you're work is way cooler than mine, but when we're stressed with deadlines, we aren't told to go color or play with puppies and kittens. I guess my issue is treating adults like children, rather and expecting them to act like adults. There is wide spectrum of ways to handle stress that lie between acting like grade-schoolers and encouraging excessive drinking.
  3. Also, a whole lot of new material for the Football Look A Like threads!
  4. If you didn't invest in a Roku for the NCHC app .... invest in a Roku now. I'd assume with this move, games will be on the ESPN app for football and basketball. Great way to watch UND sports, and much easier and better quality than having to hook up a laptop.
  5. Seem split. Some love the Big Sky, and not being in the same league as NDSU. I personally love it. I look forward to more rivalry type games in football and basketball. I also love that with the MVFC and Summit, comes more exposure through ESPN3, which makes watching football and basketball far easier, as I can just flip on my Roku app. I'll miss some of the Big Sky matchups, but we'll get plenty of good ones in the MVFC and Summit too. Should be consistently in the mix to win some Summit League basketball titles. We're in the mix right now for a Big Sky one. Would be fun to see UND in March Madness periodically.
  6. How about Women's Studies? That would rile up a certain crowd and a certain English professor (If she is still there). Anyone recall the gal that ripped into the ROTC group.
  7. I know UND used to do something similar like a "De-Stress" room during finals week. Play dough and coloring books. Puppies and Kittens. That kind of garbage. Not sure if it was a one time thing, or if they still do it. It is was made me wonder if they did something like this after the election.
  8. How much are we spending on cry rooms for insensitive children? Seriously ... did UND spend money on any of this sort of nonsense? If so, I have larger budget questions than strictly sports. http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/11/16/lawmakers-suck-it-buttercup-bill-targets-campuses-trump-hysteria
  9. Northeastern and Wisconsin aren't great teams either, but that didn't stop them from beating the Gophers. Even you're smart enough to know goofy things happen in college hockey. As for winning convincingly; statement wins may help confidence, but do nothing in terms of deciding whether a team should be in or not. This is not FCS football where a convincing win can adjust a committees thinking. Even if it was, a convincing win, over what you call a team that isn't even halfway decent, really wouldn't be much of a statement. But bravo for setting yourself up to come back an troll either way. Sweep, and its something we should have done over a garbage team, and it isn't impressive. Get swept, or split, and we're garbage for that to. Love those damned if you do, damned if you don't scenarios.
  10. I think a lot of the frustrations have to do with coming off of a Nat'l Championship season, with a team that was pretty much dominant across the board. It'll even out. Personally, I just don't want to see the team miss the tourney. They haven't missed since I have cheered for them, so it would be a major bummer to not get to watch them compete (postseason is such valuable experience for the younger guys). Also, if you make the tourney, anything can happen. After that, the hope is we don't lose too much, so we can compete hard again next season.
  11. Not giving up on Peski myself. He had had some tough games, but could end up doin just fine. Haven't really seen enough of him to know what to expect long terms. Speed and quickness are valuable (ex. Stecher), but for a lot of these guys, what has been lacking this year is the "smarts". Positioning, back checking, Passing. This past weekend, everyone was guilty of poor passes. We started just turning and throwing the puck, without ever actually passing it to someone. Need those tape to tape passes to set up plays and create some flow.
  12. Pretty pumped for this game. This team has been a lot of fun to watch. Too bad they couldn't get the W against MT. I know we're not there yet, but I really hope this team is rolling when they head to Reno!
  13. It is what will make the end of this season interesting. IF UND can put together more complete games, like they did against Omaha, we could still see a very good run. Of course, if this team can get into the tourney and make a run, we will all be looking back at this weekend and having a good laugh. How UND responds against CC will speak volumes about the character of this team.
  14. I could see Poolman turning into a solid player. Casey Johnson is another one, who I would expect to show significant improvement between this year and next year.
  15. ok, I was pretty hard on the team in most of my posts this past weekend. That being said, I think pretty much any criticism given was deserved. The young players looked inexperience and outmatched. Cam looked way off, granted he had no defensive help. Gage looked slow and lost. Shaw was terrible, 2 assists on Sat.... for Duluth. All around, we looked like Omaha did against us. Guys were just standing around. Credit to Duluth, they kept UND in check and gave us no room to operate. They pretty much won every puck battle. Looking forward, the team needs to forget about this past weekend, and focus on improving. The last time we almost missed the tourney was the 13-14 season. We had some ugly stretches during that season as well. I believe at about the same point in the season the team was sitting at (12-8-2) we are currently (13-9-3). Now we snuck into the tourney that year, but also made a run to the Frozen Four and even though we lost to the Goofs, we were playing Championship caliber hockey. If UND can get back on track this weekend, they have some very winnable series coming up. Won't be a year we are fighting for a #1 seed, though that doesn't matter as quite as much, as we would be in Fargo, which is a pretty nice advantage. Need to start playing complete games and hit the NCHC tourney hot. That tourney hasn't been to kind to UND, but maybe that changes this year. Obviously, it would be nice to be in a position to get an at large bid without having to worry much; but I would definitely like to see us finally win that tourney and get the auto bid.
  16. Agreed, but playoffs are a whole different beast. Holy Cross didn't want anything to do with the Gophers. They're have been plenty of other scenarios where the big upset has happened. UND is always dangerous as a low seed, because the talent and potential is always there. Just like when we snuck into the tourney a few years ago. This is why the NCAA tourney is so awesome, literally any team can win it.
  17. Defensive recruits are making me a little nervous right now, especially with how porous our current group seems to be. I know we were pampered last year, but it would be nice to get the group to somewhere between where we are now, and where we were last year. Hopefully they guys are learning a lot this year, and step up next season.
  18. I don't think there has been anything official yet. Speculation has been that if Arnell didn't receive one, Clive almost definitely won't. Never know with the NC$$ though.
  19. Glad to hear Adeoti committed, and the new still sounds positive on Ott, though I'll feel better on signing day. A little nervous that we haven't heard from any of the OL yet. Obviously Bull is a long shot, as he was committed to Fresno State, but he still took a visit this weekend, which had to mean there was an outside chance. Rousemiller is a bit curious, as UND seems to be his only offer, other than a PWO at MN. I wonder if we'll hear something today or tomorrow. Maybe they kid just wanted to digest his visit and talk with his family. Getting this one would make me feel a little better though.
  20. Wouldn't blame him. They play like champs. We would have lost to huntsville the way we played.
  21. Maybe this is the year where a team dominates us, then we beat them in terms conference or national tourney. Maybe?
  22. Agree so much. Cam didn't deserve the start or the record. Tomek or Rink would have been smarter. Cam needs a break for a while. Also thought cole should be.
