  1. Game Day! Time to take control of 2 place Go UND!
  2. I'm not a Bo Pellini fan, but he is certainly a solid coach. You are correct though, he is no Jim Tressel.
  3. Agreed. The business building was garbage when I was there 10 years ago. There were some nice rooms within the building, usually sponsored by different companies, but the building as a whole needs a major overhaul. When I hit that Powerball on Saturday, I'll be happy to make a nice contribution
  4. I guess I though the reason UND was making the move was because NDSU couldn't get it done it football this year. So they want a new school that can Just a joke as well!
  5. good find. I'm sure if he is a good enough player, the coaches will have some eyes on him. Kind of a bummer to watch Nick last night; one because he could still be in a UND jersey, two because he help beat my MN Wild, in what turned out to be a UND Alumni game. Parise, Toews, Schmaltz all with goals. Pretty sure Toews had a couple assists too.
  6. Watching MN vs IA right now. Fran Mcaffrey is so obnoxios. Makes me feel slightly better about some of Jones's antics.
  7. It really is a nice facility though.
  8. Hope it'll give the team a spark. I've said it numerous times, we have seen what this team can do when they play to their potential. Just hope they live up to the potential by tourney time.
  9. I do think we are actually in a similar, slightly better position to make the tournament than we were 3 years ago, when we barely made the tourney. That year turned into a Frozen Four team. Just have to make the tourney at this point. Then anything can happen.
  10. Yep, agreed. Sweeping WMU will be not easy task though. I'm hoping Jost is back and ready to go and him and Boeser lead the charge. Need to win, but also need to play more complete games. Correct, we don't play CC. Should have been Miami. A team that I consider similar to Omaha; more talented than their record. Hate having off weekends with no hockey.
  11. Correct, my bad. Not sure why I was thinking we played CC.
  12. Makes sense to me. A sweep against WMU would allow a little room for error against CC, but losing another to CC could definitely hurt us. Hoping we get Jost back against Western to add a little energy and motivation. Maybe Hak can call the boys and give a little motivation for a late season run
  13. Makes sense. It really is more about the pairwise than the conference. BUT it would be good to get home ice for the NCHC playoffs. winning some playoff games would definitely help us. Wins at W. Michigan would be Huge. (Sweep would be HUGE) Losses against CC would be devastating. Omaha will be very interesting, as we smoked them in Omaha. We have struggled at the Ralph, and they will likely want a little revenge.
  14. So we just need to win out and do well in the NCHC tourney and we wrap up a number 1 seed in Fargo .... possibly with a little help .... easy peasy.
  15. Would definitely help us to see a split between Western and Omaha this weekend. It would prevent Omaha from jumping us in the standings, and keep Western within reach when we play them. Fortunately, we play both Western and Omaha in the next few weeks, so there is a strong chance to solidify the #3 spot in the league heading into the NCHC playoffs. Although, I don't think there is a single team in the NCHC this year, including CC, that I am overly confident playing in the first round (hopefully at home). This league is so deep, and even the bad teams have had some really good showings.
  16. Won't NDSU be leading the charge in the SEC by 2020?
  17. I think Jones was going to do anything to try to keep his job, regardless of who he played or redshirted or sat. We'll see what happens next season, but right now, I'm having a lot of fun watching this season. That loss to NAU still hurts though.
  18. Totally agree. I meant more, if Cam were to go on a hot streak .... well we've been on the flip side of those games. A hot goaltender in the playoffs or the national tournament can do a lot for you. But you are correct, scoring is a huge issue right now. I love Gornall's first goal (well actually both of them), drive to the net, be physical and finish. Getting sick of these bad angle, low percentage, perimeter shots. Unless you are luke johnson, you gotta get some better shots from the top of the circle and in the slot.
  19. haha, so true! Can't say I've never been guilty of it. Its frustrating when you see your team struggle. It even more frustrating after watching the team be unbelievably dominant the year before. We were some lucky fans last season.
  20. Agreed. If this team can just maintain their positioning in the standings. Then get the right pieces back at the right time, we will be okay. Would love to see Cam hit his stride heading into the playoffs.
  21. Can't help but wonder where it is coming from. After last season, I was hoping to see more of the play making and scoring, rather than the careless penalty type stuff. I don't mind taking some tough guy penalties, but draw the other guy into taking one too.
  22. Major bummer, I just realized the boys are off next weekend. No hockey weekends suck.
  23. Agreed. Also expect Yon to make a huge jump in production next season. Kid has shown so much potential, just needs to finish and hit the point sheet more. A lot of young talent. Would love to see Jost stick around, but we'll have to wait and see. Obviously the kid passed up major juniors because he wanted to do the college route, hopefully he is committed to developing at least one more year here. I know we all expected Brock to leave after 2 years, but I'm sure Brock had higher expectations for his play this season. Granted, he had an injury and a drop off in the talent around him from last season, but I still think if he came back for one more year, he would be ready to make the jump to the NHL. Bottom line, there isn't a person on this team who is playing like they are ready to make the jump to the AHL or NHL. (Maybe Brock, but he would probably be playing in the AHL for a year). Makes it interesting to see what happens with Cam now. Looking far more human this season, without the super deep D corps. He is looking like he could play another season. What does that mean for Tomek? Does he stay? Not sure but does Peter Thome come in next season? Looks like Karki is no longer coming either. So what is UND's goalie situation in the next 2-3 years. Personally, I'm hoping for a Cam/Tomek split next season. With Tomek taking the reigns full time the following year.
  24. Before UND scored that 1st goal on Saturday, we actually saw a flurry of scoring chances. That is the time of consistent drive to the net that we have been missing. If the team is struggling, just get the puck to the net and look for the rebounds. Pretty entertaining game, after what has been a few weeks of pretty boring hockey. Really hoping this sparks something for the boys heading to Kalamazoo. A split would be big, a sweep would be huge in terms of the pairwise. Though Cam played well overall, but that first goal was pretty atrocious. Still has room to play better and needs to own that crease. We have all see what can happen when a goalie gets hot, so I'm hoping Cam is getting ready to hit a late season stride. Gornall and Smith should be be regulars in the lineup until their play dictates that they be benched. Those two out work half the team. Would rather see them than Wilkie, Simo or Olson. I can't say I'm overly confident on this team based on their play, but I am very hopeful based on their potential. Hope to see it all start clicking in time.
