Typically, coaches say that you should never take points off the board.

Because I didn't think Northern Illinois was that good. Purdue was a two TD favorite and looked very good last week in Eugene, OR. Just my opinion, but I think that's a big upset. You obviously don't think it was. EDIT: Anytime a MAC team beats a decent Big 10 team, I think it is an upset. Just like the Central Michigan/Michigan State game last week. Purdue and Michigan State were both heavy favorites for both games.

Quentin Castille was a dude for Nebraska last year in the Big 12. He's probably still a dude this year for Northwestern St. He "concerns" me today.

Keep the pressure on, people. That is unacceptable. Call, email, annoy. That's what I'm doing right now, even though I don't live there.

Maybe some local PROPONENTS of the name & logo should show up too then? Any volunteers?

I will be interested to see if the policies and philosophies of Brand will be continued when a new President is named. I hope not, but I tend to think they will. Why have someone who has absolutely zero experience in athletics run an organization that was founded on athletics? I did not know that was the case with Brand until last night.

You have got to be kidding me. How and why would this happen? Do they know Bismarck is in the center of North Dakota? Someone please explain this to me, I'm all ears.

UPDATE FINAL: Montana - 17 UC Davis - 10 Had a chance to watch this game on TV and UC Davis really squandered away many opportunities in this game. They are talented and could have easily won this game. Their QB (Denham) returns again from last year. He threw the ball 65 times tonight. They also have a stud WR in Chris Carter who I believe caught around 16 passes tonight. We are gonna have our hands full with this team in Davis, CA again this year.

Had a chance to listen to the game in the car on the radio last night on our way back from Grand Forks. Can't even begin to express how proud I am of the players and staff on how we competed yesterday. We made a lot mistakes and still were able to put out a great effort against a very talented Big 12 team. I realize Texas Tech also had their fair share of mistakes and penalties as well. Everyone is trying to downgrade Potts and his performance because of the interceptions, but the guy did complete 70% of his passes and threw for over 400 yards with a couple TD's. Not bad. If you would have told me before the game that the final score would be 38-13, I would have been giggling like a little school girl. Congrats to the players, coaches, support staff, marching band and administration on a great week for UND athletics now and in the future. We will benefit greatly from this one for some time to come in many different ways. I was also very happy to hear that President Kelley made the trip. It's nice to have a President who actually cares about athletics again. Can't wait to watch this team in person at The Alerus for homecoming against USD on October 3rd. We need to fill the seats for all the games this year. Great time to be a UND Sioux! On to Natchitoches, Louisiana and then Nacogdoches, Texas!

This is great news. Great job by the athletic department. Now, as others have already stated, it is time to finish it off by marketing the hell out of these games. Marketing has been a major problem in the past and I still don't think it is up to par right now.
-
I did not hear it, but if true, that would be great news. Makes it almost impossible to financially justify a buyout for Montana. And if even if they can justify it, then we get a huge check for not even playing and eventually could turn it around into one, maybe even two great home game opportunities with some other high-profile programs at The Alerus.

Geographically, I think I would would prefer the Summit and the MVFC over the Big Sky. Also, the MVFC is a MUCH better football conference from top to bottom than the BSC. The regional scheduling alliances with certain schools would be the biggest key for me for football. I also would hope that we could have USD along as well. What a great conference for football that would be. The BSC probably has the better overall basketball conference though. Getting into the Summit lends a helping hand to eventually getting into the MVFC, which is what should be our ultimate goal in my opinion.

I really like the new-look Nike uniforms. The only thing I would change is adding a Sioux logo obviously , but we all know why that is absent. As far as the new interlocking "ND" - I think it will just take all of us a little time to get used to. I can understand why UND wants to separate itself in terms of marketing and branding. Like many have already stated, it really isn't all that different.

I would like to see Binns redshirt regardless of talent or need. I realize we all want wins now for recruiting purposes, but we are in the transition and should build for the future when we are playoff eligible. All freshman have a physical and mental learning curve in their first year for football and college life in general. By the time they figure it out on and off the field, the season and first year of college are over. Seems like a waste of a year to me. I don't like taking redshirts off kids unless injury and/or depth concerns prompt the coaching staff to do so.

I have also heard that Sutton has the potential to be a great RB at UND. His credentials coming out of high school in Wisconsin are impressive. I believe he was the Gatorade POY in Wisconsin his senior year.
