  1. You're joking, right? Sounds like you are but I'm not sure...
  2. And we could consult with Crappy & BoobyDoo if we needed any fashion help re: women's apparel...
  3. I was wondering if any of these refs/linesmen have to qualify every so often in order to maintain their positions as officials. Are they like Supreme Court justices where once they're in, they're in? I know they get judged by the Commish every now & then, but that doesn't seem to be making them any better when they're not being watched. Are officials like the "good ol' boy" network in the sense that they keep their jobs regardless unless they really screw up? I'll bitch about them when the Sioux win & bitch about them when we lose-until they institute some kind of stricter policy that includes competency as a prerequisite for officiating. Missing calls, singling out players for no apparent reason, blah, blah, blah...it needs to change...
  4. If it's anything like your posts here, I'm sure we'll all be happy
  5. If anyone has any knowledge of DU's strengths/weaknesses, please feel free to share any & all info. I don't know much about them except that they're rather depleted at defense right now. How about UND's injured players? Are most of them healed & does anyone think Massen will make the trip? A Sioux sweep isn't out of the question but may be a little difficult with Berkhoel (sp) in net...Go Sioux!!
  6. This dreadful PP has a lot to do with the system they're being taught, imo. In other words, what the coaches are teaching them. There's no excuse why much lesser skilled teams like SCSU this year, & MSU-Mankato last year, are so proficient & we're so awful considering the amount of talent we have. They probably practice it a lot but aren't teaching the right things. Another poster made a good point when he observed the d-men not playing the opposite points (making it more difficult to get off quick shots), players not getting into position to support the puck (standing around), too much cute passing & not enough shots & guys in front of the net, etc. Just the little things that add up. The 3 coaches probably have upwards of 100 years of combined experience in the game so you'd think they could remedy this little deficiency...
  7. True. Contrary to what many think, Mike had a lot of refinement & etiquette when it came to pulverizing people...
  8. I feel slighted whenever I walk into a grocery store & see sauerkraut
  9. I've heard of broken arms, legs, collarbones, hearts, etc, but never a broken face. Someone share a pic when they come across one
  10. College hockey has some of the worst top-to-bottom officiating I've seen in any sport at any level. People think Sioux fans b!tch a lot about this, so it's nice to see a Gopher fan who has issues with the reffing
  11. We'd never hear the end of it. The ACLU & ADL would move their headquarters to GF, no doubt.
  12. I thought journalists were supposed to report news, not create it. Wouldn't like to be the reporter who gets mickey-mouse assignments like that. (Editor talking to newbie reporter) "Okay, Billy, being you're fresh out of college & you're the low man on the totem pole, I want you to go to the campus & sensationalize this so we'll have a hot topic for the next month & don't have to drag out the awful beet-smell theme in EGF anymore. Hop to it!"
  13. Considering how fond he is of the Sioux, you think he would have showed his appreciation & stayed all 4 years
  14. I thought (college) players could be in the crease if they're not interfering with the goalie. Aside from this mini-trend of goals going our way, we should be paying attention to the overall officiating. It appears that officials are somewhat clamping down on the clutches & grabs & in particular the slashing calls. Would be nice if Blais reinforced clean hockey to the guys as most of our penalties appear to be of the slashing variety...
  15. Well, he was hangin' out with a Gopher buddy so that should tell you something about his thought processes anyway...
  16. I was not aware people attend UND to learn one-syllable cuss words to sound like idiots at a public event. I can only imagine attending a game where fans sat in their seats the whole time, clapped only at certain times, didn't raise their voices above a certain decibal...kinda like attending an opera...
  17. And he's also coming to UND for academic reasons Welcome to the Sioux family, Rylan! Wonder what other schools were interested in him...looks like we have until the 19th (end of early signing period) to see who else comes aboard. Does anyone know the other times/dates a player is allowed to sign?
  18. How unselfish. Didn't know he was so fond of his alma mater. Way to go, Mike!!
  19. Thx, I hadn't noticed that...
  20. Nice to hear that. I admire people who work hard to improve themselves & push for greater things...
  21. Knowing my luck, this thread will be on the bottom of the page & almost dead when RW77 makes an appearance & resurrects it with some more bologna jk Unless Captain Jim takes control of the situation first & flushes it down the crapper...
  22. Must be pretty slow in Siouxville if this is still an active thread...
  23. I don't think these are very big assumptions. The NHL will probably strike a "last minute" deal & we'll all breathe a sigh of relief when hockey isn't interrupted. Vanek will most likely be adios-he was supposed to stay another year in college to work on his all-around game but we can see that he needs a lot of improvement still with his defensive game...
  24. "Parise is the latest Devils prospect that will soon make Lou Lamoriello look like a genius." "Next season, Vanek will add more punch to Buffalo's growing offensive arsenal up front." Interesting. Would be nice if they made their comments a little longer so readers could gain a better perspective on the various players...
