I'm sure you're aware of this, but Wilson had a serious eye injury at midseason last year & missed most of the second half. However, he recovered fine & is, I think, a consistent 3rd/4th liner. Fox Sports Arizona isn't televising many games so far this year--I think they'll pick up coverage once the football season ends. But yes, he is playing consistently & plays solidly. Many fans here rallied around him last year when the eye injury occurred. Don't know why he isn't scoring more, though, as he still has a rocket shot...

What the...?! I paid him a special tribute for nothing?!

Wow, way to go Edward!! He's one of the Sioux players who, had he stuck around longer than a year, probably would have won us at least another championship. Anyhow, no use crying over spilled milk. Congratulations...

As much as I dislike the Gophers, kudos goes to Jeff Taffe who put in a strong game last night in the Coyotes' win over the Blues (1 goal). Many here don't understand why he's not a regular in the lineup & that it's only a matter of time before he is. The Coyotes' beat writer gave a thumbs down to former BCer Kris Kolanos who conciously avoided responsibility in the 5-4 win. Kolanos also had a concussion early in the 2002-03 season, refused to play & missed a bunch of games even after the team dr. had cleared him...

Agreed on that point. A good example of a coach doing this is Bill Parcells when he started with the Cowboys this season. He stated that his first goal was to find out who all the negative, badmouthing, rumorspreading, non-producing, overweight guys were in the lockerroom & cut them. Maybe Blais isn't doing all these things, but you get my point. Having disenfranchised guys in the lineup is like a slow-spreading disease that affects team morale & should not be tolerated. I think benching certain players who fall into this category in favor of hungry freshmen is a necessity. There's no excuse why a talented upperclassman should play & take up scholarship space if he's going to loaf around & not give it a 100% game in & game out. Each & every Sioux player needs to give it all he's got if we're going to have any chance of bringing home an 8th NCAA championship this season...

Thx, I was too lazy to scroll over a few inches

I know what you're saying. It seems to me they had him listed at 6'1" or 2 when he first arrived at UND. I checked the archives at USCHO, though, & they had him listed at 6'0", 215 for all 3 years he's been here. Who knows, maybe we're both hallucinating

Speaking of which, there was a Mapletoft sighting at a local mall a couple days ago. He was signing his new book titled: Redwing, The Man who Made Me Famous at a School I've Never Heard of Before

Nice article--I was kinda hoping to see the words "weenie", "loser", "panzy", though My question: I thought Redwing 77 was going to write this but it has Jason Loos' name as the author of the article--presumably the same poster as jloos in this very thread. Just wondering, did you write this Redwing & is jloos another username of yours? No big deal, just curious...

"North Dakota. No one forfeits wins for being dumb."--INCH. That's pretty brazen, calling the Sioux players dumb...

I'm so not into the Bison I didn't even know they had a message board until a month ago. Don't know why any Sioux fan would want to go there in the first place unless to ruffle some feathers during the football season. They're an afterthought (for me) if they don't have a D1 hockey program...

Just wondering, but perhaps the Sioux players should bring condoms with them on this road trip & give them to the Denver players--they're probably going to have Pioneers riding their a$$es all weekend long. It'll be interesting & somewhat funny listening to TH complain about all the muggings that will happen this weekend. After all, I think it's a fairly safe bet that Denver will will do a lot of this, what with their depleted defense & all. Now all the Sioux have to do is rise to the occasion & convert on the pp if the refs are gonna call it tight...

I hope he wasn't wearing his skates when you were standing next to him; if he was in skates, that would put him at around 5'8"-5'9", which is Bina's size

If true, my day just got a little brighter--not because they are subject to getting fired, but that they review tapes & are critiqued. Does anyone know in recent times of a WCHA official getting the pink slip for poor job performance?
-
Careful there, Tony's empire may someday gain control of Siouxsports & who knows what he'd do then
-
Welcome aboard! Let's hope you're right. 3/4 points in Denver isn't asking too much but they will have to bust their heinies & bring their A game. The high altitude shouldn't be that big a factor considering their excellent conditioning...

Aaaah, how classic. Never seen a moderator of a message board get power rushes in his ability to delete posts & ban subscribers. I think we have a little tyrant on the loose in Fargo, a virtual Mini-me... Just kiddin', Tony, keep up the great work

Any predictions for this game? Less than 2 days to go!

Excellent point. I mentioned this a couple weeks ago & it only makes sense to me that they review game tapes in order to improve their officiating. Regardless if an official is good or not, it only makes sense to review tapes so you're not considered a buffoon & a disgrace to your profession. Where do they get some of these knuckleheads anyway? I mentioned my displeasure re: WCHA officiating on USCHO last year & some other poster there who happens to be a ref got miffed because he thought I was challenging his integrity & profession. GEEZ...

Yooooooohooooooo, Redwing, we need your help! Put down your Mapletoft research project for awhile & help us out on this flu conspiracy Fylling's abscence will be tough. Now's not exactly a good time for him to be gettin' sick on us; we need his grittiness & speed in these road games. Get well soon, buddy! Thanks, Pat, great job as always!!

One of the players I've always admired is Greg Johnson. The guy is total class & usually puts in a good plug for UND when he's interviewed on ESPN... BTW, Rick, I was wondering how you know so much about the behind-the-scenes happenings in Sioux hockey. Just wondering...

It would be appreciated if you could. He might not like to be bothered in his personal time, but if he's cool like you say, why not? Then, when you're finished talking with him, slip him a couple Franklins with "Sioux" written on them & thank him for his time

1) Remove from closet. 2) Stand in doorway. 3) Open door. 4) Open umbrella by clicking button. 5) Close door & have a nice walk in the rain. Sorry, I'm bored & need my nightly fix of PCM's recap of The Coach's Show. BTW, is someone going to call Blaiser tonight & offer what we've discussed here?
