  1. Ok, I'm putting this in this thread. It doesn't belong in any of the existing threads really and I don't want to create a thread for it so... UMN got their replacement goaltender for Frazee yesterday by signing Kent Patterson. Not at all surprising. He was among one of the better uncommitted goaltending prospects in the USHL. He'll be a good backup for Kangas. In other news, August Aiken was once recruited by UND. He committed to UAA recently.
  2. If by "terrible hockey team" you mean "hockey team actually capable of winning the Stanley Cup" then guilty as charged!
  3. We leave most of it up to the Gentiles. Though we do have a surprising number of baseballers, boxers (most notably to me is Max Baer), and a decent number of football players too. Interestingly enough, 3 of four major leagues (MLB, NBA, and NHL) have Jewish commissioners. Here's a small list: Past and Present Jewish baseball players: Sam Fuld (Cubs) Steve Stone Hank Greenberg Rod Carew (he converted) Kevin Youkilis Shawn Green Sandy Koufax Ryan Braun (MIL) Gabe Kapler (MIL) Jason Marquis (Cubs) Brad Ausmus (Houston?) Scott Schoenweiss Bud Selig (proving that not all Jews in sports are great people) Basketball: Not going to list all, but there are a few notables (not to mention 9 hall of famers): Red Auerbach David Stern (see Bud Selig) Jeff and Steve Van Gundy Doug Gotlieb Football: Lyle Alzado Sid Luckman Al Davis (see again Bud Selig) Jay Fiedler Robbie Gould Marv Levy Sage Rosenfels NHL: Gary Bettman (the only Jew I've ever wished to see fired actively. I know us brothers have to stick together, but dude, you're ruining it for Jews in sports!) Former Wolverines: Michael Cammalleri and Eric Nystrom Former NCAA hockey player: Jeff Halpern Mathieu Schneider Sam Pollock (Montreal's GM in the '70s during their dominant era) Former hockey player, former Sioux, Aaron Vicker Racing: Kenny Bernstein (Drag racing fame) Paul Newman Professional Wrestlers: Bill Goldberg Scott Levy - aka "Raven" Sid Eudy - aka "Sid Vicious" Rory Singer is a UFC Fighter... not a good one though. Here's a full list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Jewis...erican_athletes
  4. Wait a minute.... Greek Life... doing something stupid... something racist... That NEVER happens! Sorry guys, but it seems like this issue, despite my getting the date wrong, seems to point to GREEK LIFE rather than to UND itself. Then again, I've never been a strong proponent of UND doing anything even halfway in support of Greek Life. It's not coincidence that a good percentage of the stupidist, most racist, most shocking events that occur on a college campus happen in Greek houses or by members of the Greek community... Follow the trend, boys.
  5. A few things: 1. I'll repeat myself again: fourwindsboy cannot be a racist. He's not white. Any anti-white statements he makes or has made is just his lashing out rightfully at the harsh oppressors of his ancestors. I find that laughable because I'm technically first generation American so my ancestors never knew Native Americans even existed while back in the Old Country of Eastern Europe. 2. Siouxfan in Denver - Are you arguing against fourwindsboy? If yes, then, yes, you are a racist. 3. Chewey is right. When life holds me, Jews, or Christians down, we pick ourselves up and try to right the ship. If we were wronged along the way, we correct the wrong by attacking the person or company that performed the wrong. We have to look at things rationally. Perhaps there is something we did to provoke it. Why did I lose my job? Was it because I'm Jewish? I have lost jobs in my past, but in no way was it because I was Jewish. I somehow doubt many who are a minority would see a white guy firing them as not a racist move. I have been told to my face that I am going to Hell because I'm Jewish. I have been told that I (not the Jewish people) killed Jesus Christ. I have been told to my face that the Holocaust never happened. I've heard people say the phrase, "Don't Jew me, pal." Well, so what? Those people were idiots. I will not hold an entire ethnicity, nationality, or religious organization accountable for the actions of those idiots. The Native American activists can't seem to handle that idea. We do not hold an entire race or country accountable for the actions of one company or the actions of a few representative of a country who are A) no longer in power and B) long since dead. For example, I do not plan on attacking blond haired German nationals over the Holocaust. Racism is perpetuated by the victims of it. They cannot see that the actions of a select few are just that, the actions of a select few. They hold the entire race responsible. They hide behind their perceived oppression to the point where people who may be distantly related to those who were oppressed feel themselves having been oppressed. How many black people alive today know slavery? The truth is, they don't. Their great-grandparents or great-great-grandparents might if they are still alive, but they don't. A great example of this attitude in black culture is this R&B/Hip Hop singer Rhianna (I think her name is) who claims Gangsta rap doesn't exist and wears an ak-47 necklace to represent the Black Panther movement's violent tendencies. I can find more direct quotes if you want, but there is NO WAY IN HELL she was alive for even a portion of what the true Black Panthers went through. I never owned a slave. I did not participate in driving Native Americans from their homes. I have never chanted any derogatory remarks towards any Native American or minority persons, yet I'm lumped in with the entire ethnicity because I'm Caucasian. Well, so be it. Better to be a racist for false pretenses than a holier than thou bigot who cannot see his or her own flaws despite him or herself.
  6. They already know about me. I have a pre-emptive ban there.
  7. Oh! Right. Porter's trying a new upper body conditioning exercise.
  8. I suppose so, but I'm not surprised by that. Isn't it amazing how Colorado is doing against the Wings? Oh.... Gosh. Um.... heh.
  9. Only if you are drunker than a skunk.
  10. No. I'm banned on most putt-putt golf courses thanks to two broken windows, a maintenance teenager with a golf-ball sized welt on his hand, one broken windmill, and three broken putters. mikeypat, Goon... either of you two able to get to Fargo this summer for a round? I could perhaps get up to Grand Forks. if it is the right time. I wanna play a sport I supremely suck at... wow.
  11. Probably because he got hurt in some area of his body that requires that he be on crutches?
  12. Not at all. Remember, any minority acting anti-white is just voicing pent up aggression towards the oppressors, the whites. It is perfectly acceptable to be Anti-White. However, if White People were to argue against these statements, THAT would be racism. It's how things go. I'd even go as far as to say that the Reservations could hang a sign saying "All White people are racist pigs deserving nothing more than the slop pigs live on" and there's nothing we can do. If the City of Fargo or somewhere posted a sign saying "We don't want any more poor people. Move here and get a job or don't come here at all" they'd get blasted. It's why I laugh every time I hear Jesse Jackson talk about racial equality. It's a pipedream. There can not be racial equality as long as race is an issue with either side. I don't see African-Americans laying down the race card any time soon. I don't see the Native Americans laying down the victim card any time soon either. I'm 99.9% positive I'll never see racial equality in my lifetime. I'm pretty sure none of our children will either.
  13. The way I see this issue is this: You have Side A and Side B. Both are mutually exclusive. Despite this, a majority are respectful of the opposite side. However, there are some who act in such a manner that makes their respective side look foolish, pigheaded, or just ignorant. Both sides of this debate has seen that. GrahamKracker spewed hate towards the pro-nickname crowd. 30+ years ago, NDSU students printed some retarded T-shirts and UND students acted in a very forgettable manner towards NA people during a parade. But that was 30+ years ago. Times have changed. People have changed. Idiots still exist but they don't represent the whole. GrahamKracker doesn't represent the whole of NA people either. "Fourwindsboy," you aren't being met with such hostility because you are anti-nickname. You are being met with hostility because that's the way you handle the opposition. You don't present any new information. You don't present even the old information with any respect to the perspectives of the other side. You are vindictive. You seem to have targeted Sioux-cia for some reason and, whether she is right or wrong, you have decided to act rather childish in pointing it out. She admitted that the statement you cited was wrong and she stated she corrected her mistake but you neglect to care about the fact that she did so. This is yet another problem with the "victim" society. They see injustice and forget the rest. It doesn't matter if the wrongdoers were punished. Those hecklers at that UND parade 30+ years ago could have been strung up by their feet, hung upside down, and shot with a shotgun for all it mattered, the "atrocity" would still exist. When is a criminal act just a criminal act? It's as stupid an argument as "Guns should be banned because they kill people." Or perhaps "UND students were caught drinking while underage. Therefore, UND endorses underage drinking." Seriously! Next thing you know they'll be attributing irrelevant acts of stupidity on something like this... oh wait... the anti-semitism thing on campus has already been blamed on the nickname. Present your side of the story fourwindsboy. I don't care. But if you can't do it in a respectful manner, one that is respectful to those who don't agree with you, then take the high road and simply don't state it. Sioux-cia has placed you on ignore and I'm not certain I blame her. She's tired of the "eye for an eye" approach previous anti-nicknamers have taken on this board and so am I. Start speaking respectfully and stop attacking other people's opinions in an argumentative fashion and you'll be treated far better. Otherwise, you'll just get summarily ignored or worse. Go in peace, pal.
  14. I am Jewish and I think it would be hilarious. Actually, I'm more for the Litigating Levites actually. Perhaps the Marauding Maccabees? The Rebellious Rabbis? Then we can yell phrases like "Knock them on their tuchis!" And "Beat the goys!" God forbid any Gentile player cheap shots a Fighting Jew! OY VEY! Such litigation!
  15. Huh... Well, you never know I guess. He had an outstanding junior and international career coming into the U. He's got to right the ship fast if he's going to succeed. Or at least save up his signing bonus. He'll need it to get the remainder of his degree paid off.
  16. Huh... Well, you never know I guess. He had an outstanding junior and international career coming into the U. He's got to right the ship fast if he's going to succeed. Or at least save up his signing bonus. He'll need it to get the remainder of his degree paid off.
  17. Pretty sure he's a 3rd or 4th round pick. Risky to take a goaltender in the first two rounds. Think Dan Blackburn with the Rangers.
  18. He played hockey. That's all the credentials you need to know. Since he played hockey, it's automatic.
  19. I also hear Sid the Kid will be taking a year off of the NHL to play for the Sioux!
  20. 61st. I editted my post to show that. I don't think Ness is any better than Goli was coming into college. I don't think Ness will be drafted as low, but I would definitely not be surprised if he did drop into the second round somewhere.
  21. I dunno. I'm curious about Ness' size and defensive abilities and how they'll translate to the NHL game. No question he's a great player, but so was Chorney and he got drafted in the second round. Goligoski was a second round pick. Ness reminds me of Goligoski a lot. I think he'll go either late first round or more likely early second round.
  22. That's funny. I am dreaming of hitting the ball anywhere close to the green. I am dreaming of getting the ball into the hole in less than 4 putts. I am dreaming of a time when jackets aren't necessary. I am a Red Wings and Devils fan who is gaining appreciation for the Blackhawks and who ever is playing the Wild, Twins, Vikings, whichever network that is willing to preempt basketball or NASCAR for ANYTHING ELSE! And Vikings fans should be proud. They only effed up once (the FSU DT) in the draft.
  23. The victim card is as much a part of the NA culture as the race card is a part of the African American culture. The rez stands for more than a NA-dominant residential area. It stands for the man. The NA people can end this by simply moving or relocating or overhauling the place or getting rid of all things that the man of old did to them. They are no longer confined to the rez. They can go and do whatever they want. They can't and won't because to go out and get what you deserve without it being handed to you removes the title of "victim" from you and therefore, if failure occurs, it's their own responsibility. The absence of someone other than themselves to blame is terrifying. I'm happily still kicking after my people (6 million of them) were wiped out. Funny.... I don't have a vendetta against the Germans. Countless other Jews were killed by the Russians... Funny.... I don't have a vendetta against the Russians either. I guess I don't play the role of the victim pretty well. Then again... I haven't had 100 years go by to let the victim card burn its ugly self into my society. I'm not helpless and I don't want other people to think I am. That's not the attitude the NA want us to believe. Their mantra seems to be "We're helpless because you made us. You must give us everything because we're too oppressed to save ourselves." It's blatantly untrue, but whatever makes them motivated to get out of bed in the morning.... Yeah, I'm racist. Whatever. People in the United States are only oppressed if they truly allow themselves to be. Hate your job? Get a new one. No jobs you like? Get an education and get a better one! See a problem? FIX IT to the best your abilities! Take responsibility for yourself including your successes and failures! If you get fired, it's probably something you did or did not do. If not, then get an explanation! I'm so damn tired of this victim mentality. It's ruining their entire society and they're clinging to it like a stubborn toddler who doesn't want to give up his bottle for solid food.
  24. Good for you! I'm happy for you.
  25. What was the point of this? The case was documented. Why would she lie about her experience? OH! Because it isn't flattering to "the rez." Gotcha. This comment falls under the auspices of "Non-rez people who criticize rez life/decisions/etc. are racists and bs-artists. Only rez-residents (rezidents?) can criticize "the rez." Sioux-cia's bad experience was stated plain as day and cited a similar experience by someone unrelated to her along the way. It's not an isolated incident. Even if it was, I'm positive Sioux-cia would have treated it as such, shrugging her shoulders and walking away. What happened to her isn't indicative of just Native Americans. White Americans also go looking for prescription narcotics under false pretenses. However, the wording of the Native American socialist health care system makes it almost impossible to stop such a trend because her, a non-NA, denying it from them can constitute denial of service. Since her side of the story WAS NOT PRESENTED at the tribal council meeting that resulted in her banishment, how could you POSSIBLY claim that we're not hearing the full story? If not hearing the full story was good enough for the tribal council, then it is good enough for here too. If that's not good enough for you, then I suggest you just go ahead and head over to "the rez" and live the rest of your life with a paper sack over your head and a "woe is me" sign around your neck like the image you try to portray your people.
