I thought LaPoint would be the next Lee. It started out that way but things cooled down quite a bit after a while. I don't know much about Mattson. He isn't a huge point getter at the NTDP is he? And I agree with you about Lee. He never really panned out despite doing pretty darn good offensively. A victim of hype and draft position.

What does a football player that shot himself in the leg (dear lord) have to do with this? Bruess would certainly have paid for it if fighting were allowed, but we were playing so tenuously despite the PP advantage that I'm grateful no one did throw down.

I always was envious of that because if the Sioux faithful invested the time and effort to do that at the REA, they'd be kicked out or forced to sit down.

TH is usually all over the cheap plays in very homeristic manner. He did not say a word when it happened. I'm inclined to think it wasn't dirty, just unfortunate.

Don't worry. Irwin will get, at most, 1 game suspension if anything at all. Maybe Jutting will try the "talking to" method and see what happens. I would. I'm impressed with our team discipline. However, overall, this game was ugly and we were lucky we won this game. The first period after LaPoint's injury and pretty much the entire 3rd period was ALL MSUM. I hate to say this, but... I don't think we'd have gotten a W if it wasn't for all those trips to the penalty box. And I'm with mikejm. This week should be spent mostly on PP. 2 for 10 and a shortie. Seriously. MSUM has 5 shorties against us this season alone... They've played us what... 4 games this year? That is PATHETIC.

When he's taken off on a stretcher, he won't be back. That usually means the hospital and that's not a short ordeal with that injury. I'd suspect he's headed eventually to the Operating Room. I hope he does it, if it is called for, ASAP.

An interesting substitution for sure. I just don't know why though. Is it because Hak is under pressure from the DU friendly league front office to "stow the goon?" I think this works in favor of two conspiracies: 1. Benefits the Mavs because they won't have an instigator getting them in trouble on the ice. 2. Benefits the Sioux indirectly because, if a fight does start, it won't be because of our "goon." And, no, I don't believe Hextall is a goon. Just two wild hare ideas that are probably both WAY OFF.

That's why (in my own mind anyways) the Canadian anthem is sung first in US vs Can competition. Take the song they know how to sing correctly first. I wish I could boo, but that would be taken entirely the wrong way.

Call me stunned. I thought Huet was good for at least 3 goals. Well, it was one of his better games I guess.

Uhh.. maybe, but what are we doing giving up a 2 on 1 when that involves 50% of their skaters on the ice at that time? Shorthanded chances happen from time to time, but shorthanded goals should be pretty uncommon. Short handed odd man rushes should be scarce. And short handed breakaways should be unbelievably rare. Yeah, I love when UND scores shorthanded, but I don't see that as much a PK unit playing well as a PP unit just sitting out there with thumbs up their breezers. Not BE's fault, but seriously... I'm glad we were up 3-0 before the goal. If that was the tying or go ahead goal, I'd be pretty deflated.

I support all the programs the NA people get at UND even though that isn't going to solve the NA problem with their society and the fact that it is ethnic favoritism. If the nickname changes, I'll still support them. I just won't be in favor of increasing the funding to them. If the tribes want to take a more active control in NA life at UND, they should step up financially too. Whats that? They don't have the money? Well, then, that's fine. The programs won't go away. In fact, I'd suggest they not spend money on UND. Instead, spend money on their tribal elementary, middle, and high schools to get more than 48-55% of their student population to go to school, do well in school, and graduate. I found somewhat more up to date stats and noticed that only the Latino population, a known transient community, has a lower graduation rate in ND. I think the rest of the ethnicities average around 85-88%.

I have a replica myself. A Nike. The fabric is different than the Nike ones they wore before Rbk took over (I think they make them now). The only thing I really wish I could have on my jersey was the WCHA patch the real jerseys had on them. Maybe you can find them now, but I couldn't find them when I bought the jersey. Heck, maybe AZ will hook me up with one. AZ rocks.

I'd say more than that. I'd say that's true dedication. First off, basketball sucks. Secondly, it's UMN basketball. Tubby or not, it hasn't been all that great for a very long time. If that's not dedication, I don't know what is.
