  1. That would be interesting.... if I lived in the past. The world, as they say, has changed a bit since the "white man" roamed the prairie.
  2. What a down offseason for CC.
  3. Interesting... Is the USHL season going on during this tourney? If so.... wow. It's good to be the 3rd string Fargo Force goaltender (assuming Gothberg reports to Fargo).
  4. They might not sleep themselves, but their offensive totals will sleep for sure. Certainly a dumb move by Lou (signing Lemaire)
  5. I love Toto's Africa and i'm not the biggest fan of A Capella but.... WOW Africa by Toto sung by Perpetuum Jazzile Sorry, I haven't figured out how to embed yet. By the way, none of the singers are native English speakers. All from Slovenia.
  6. Well, at least the haters have something to talk about.
  7. Before the Gopher trolls post it, I'm going to go ahead and say it. If Hakstol had control over his players (regardless of the fact they were 21 or older and considered adults), this never would have happened. Yet another proof that Lucia is better than Hakstol and why Hakstol should be fired. I think that should about cover it.
  8. David Hale was traded yesterday to Tampa Bay. With this influx of players, I'm not so sure Smaby has a shot at the NHL next season.... but I could be very wrong. I don't have the numbers on how much D TB has.
  9. Here's a link.
  10. So you're saying he sucks? Should I warm up the bus?
  11. That was stupid. That stuff only works in the movies...if I'm reading into it right. Thanks for the info. I just can't imagine what went on with this kid. If he in fact did have a flight slot, then what he did was threw away an opportunity of a lifetime. Flight slots, from what I've heard, are very hard to come by. The military MIGHT let him polish aircraft windscreens and paint chocks though.
  12. Here's more food for thought: Say Ron loses, the new guy puts it to a vote, and the tribe approves it. Nickname opponents will cite this development as the closest they've gotten to victory since the nickname's adoption and use that to spur them on. I would not hold it to the more extreme of the anti-nickname crowd to try to egg on negative stories and acts to try to renew the push to change the name even hours after we win the right to keep it. I'm not saying that it is the fight not worth fighting, but I think both directions can have distinct advantages. I'd love to keep the nickname. I'd love to drive the tribes out of UND's hair forever. But the one factor will always remain: Even if the nickname goes away, the voices that led this whole thing, those UND employees who spoke out about how awful the nickname was and how horrible it is to work for UND, will just find a new flag to wave against the institution. This kind of power isn't the kind that comes and, upon success, goes away moving towards equality. The taste of it is good to these people and they want more. They equate this power to the fight for equality and not for what it really is: Simply the successful pushing around of the majority for the purposes of supposedly furthering their agenda. The problem isn't the nickname. It's these leaders who traipse about stirring up unrest and creating a sense of inequality instead of empowering the people they lead towards changing their life for the better. The nickname isn't going to better the cause or lessen the plight of the Sioux people, but their anti-nickname leaders believe that it will at least be a step in that direction. News for them is that it won't. It will simply lead to some rough times for Sioux UND students (because lets face it: Like it or not, someone is going to do something incredibly stupid. Alcohol will probably be involved. And I'll cringe when I hear about it) and then fade into obscurity.
  13. You know there's no shot at all when Jim Carey quotes start making appearances.
  14. I just don't see Frazee making the NHL anytime soon. If Ahi Ahonen (an NJ 1st Round Draft Pick) couldn't make the NHL, Frazee sure won't.
  15. I heard image shack is good... http://imageshack.us
  16. Pardon my ignorance but... what is a "NastyGirl"? And what happens to him under an Article 15? I read a little bit about the UCMJ Article 15, but something of this magnitude wouldn't be a minor disciplinary issue...
  17. What's the deal with Finley playing wing? That's not his game at all. I can't imagine Finley ever making the NHL as a wing. His job is a defensive defenseman. I guess it's nice to have that kind of flexibility, but seriously.... wow. Could you imagine what it would have been like if Hakstol put Fins on the left wing?
  18. Interesting take. However, he won't be at UND this year. I had a glib remark on Frazee, but Bina's goal didn't go 5 hole dang it! But this one did!
  19. I agree. He'll be a steal at wherever he'll be drafted. And even if he isn't drafted, he'll be just as prized as Daniel Winnik or Tyler Bozak.
  20. And with him goes objective news media. Period. RIP Walter. The Truth never sounded so good. And the truth was never hard to find when he was the one giving it.
  21. USCHO posters said that it was Bowman who screwed up and Tallon took the fall. It's also been stated there that Tallon wasn't behind the Hossa and Huet signings. Oh well. Tallon will get another job in the NHL. Chicago will be in a world of hurt after this next season. Maybe Kane will be a Red Wing! Doubtful, but still.... I can hope.
  22. I'm RedWing77 and I also approve of this message. Well stated.
  23. Because his actions nearly cost them 6 promising young players and his signings put resigning Toews and Kane in jeopardy. Not to mention Tallon essentially saying Huet was a top rate #1 goaltender...
  24. He was drafted by a Sutter. There's no question why he's playing in the WHL. Too bad Red Deer couldn't get ahold of him.
  25. January? That's one more month of quality officiating than I had. I said end of November.
