I like how I have a few posters up in arms about Walski. It was purely sarcastic and I don't care what you think my perspective is on Walski. Those who see me "talking down" on Walski typically don't care for what I have to say anyways about him even when I'm not talking down to him. Walski is our 3rd stringer. He will be our 3rd stringer next season barring injury to Phil or Anthony. He will be the 3rd stringer (again barring injury) when he graduates. Period, the end, have a nice day. It's not a reflection of how "bad" Walski is. It's a reflection of how good Grieco and Phil are. I love the rationale though. We should be more willing to give Walski a shot because of his past and where he's from but we shouldn't give Grieco a shot because he lost two to UAA and gave up too many goals to Mankato (even though we won both games and that very few of those goals were given up 5 on 5 and even though our Team D was atrocious). Sorry folks, if you "Talk nice to Walski" posters only were reciprocating towards Grieco (read Lives to play's posts on Grieco and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about) I wouldn't really care so much. Phil Anthony Aaron That's your 1, 2, and 3. Aaron might get a little time somewhere, but don't expect it. If Phil takes a rest, I'd expect Anthony.

I didn't argue that point, AZ.
-
If only he could dump that sock puppet with a wig that he shares the booth with, he'd be much better.

Throw him down the river! When Hakstol wants to rest Phil, play Walski. After all, he did make about 70 saves in some High School game within the last 5 years or something like that. Oops! Forgot that he's from North Dakota, which autmatically makes him better than Grieco. Sorry for the omission. So far, Grieco can't beat UAA but he can beat MSUM and SCSU. So, I think Grieco should play only against SCSU and MSUM, leave UAA to Phil, and perhaps get a few more odd starts here and there during the season.

This assumes Ottawa can't contain their speed. I watched some of Buffalo's playoffs thus far and every time their speed has been contained, they've looked rather awful. I hate to say this, but I wonder if Ottawa would employ the trap against Buffalo. It would effectively nullify their speed, slow down the game, and put everyone to sleep. However, it may be the only way to stop them right now.

I still remember the draft when Zajac was drafted. Bettman announces that the Devils have traded up in the draft and immediately the broadcasters say "It's gotta be Zajac." (one just said "Zajac"). Awesome.
-
There's no doubt that Ottawa is the team to beat, but... I would love to know how they'd fair against the Sabres because the Sabres, in my opinion, is the fastest team remaining in the playoffs. Gosh I want the Wings to win, but I couldn't believe they won yesterday! In the first period (the part I watched anyways) it was all San Jose.

I don't know. It works for the Cubs.

With NJ needing cap space and scoring depth, I thought the trade idea I had that would send Toews to NJ in a package deal for Elias would be great! Of course, it still means Toews wouldn't be returning to UND, but at least he'd be jumping to go to a team that's worth a damn.
-
More like realistic. No way would CHicago release Toews if they sign him. He'll be too busy in the NHL. Hey, I know this isn't a good "return on the investment" but... Elias is a playoff bust for the Devils and they're so tight against the salary cap.... How about Lamoriello working some magic and sending Elias and a 2nd round pick to the Hawks for the rights to Toews and a 1st round pick?

Duh. They have the #1 recruiting class so Cogliano thought Michigan didn't need him anymore. That's why he went pro.

I think the lecturing about the lecturing on the lecturing about UW is getting old too. In other news, it's UW trying to get the heave ho, which is new from the perrenial eviction contenders of MTU and MSUM.
-
No. It's just the stiffie the media seems to have for Ehn. He's a good player, for sure, but one player doesn't make a team great, Sioux or otherwise.
-
The only thing I would add to that is: If you are going to correct someone on spelling, make sure you don't misspell any words in doing so.

Can Triouxper STAY committed to it? Anyone have Vegas odds on how long the commitment will last?

I hope PCM isn't the one at the bottom. It's a very hostile and abusive costume.

Not arguing that point. I'm saying that I'm not sure players attend Shattuck to be noticed by UND or to better their chances at playing at UND. A lot of great players have come from the BCHL and from the USHL or from high school hockey other than Shattuck. It seems ludicrous to me to say "He's going to Shattuck so he'll be on UND's radar."
-
Yeah, but will they make a good solution or will they pull a Matt Millen/Kevin McHale?
-
I think Tippett is a lot like Andy Murray in that even if Dallas fired him, he'd be back in the saddle eventually.

Ah, no. Daigle wasn't a bust in the NHL. He just wasn't an impact player. And, no, I'm not calling Lee a bust either. In fact, I think he's quite good. Not the best, but quite good. Of course, you're so wrapped up in the hype and NHL draft position (which is really something college recruiters look heavily into when trying to decide how good college players will be. Which is why Jason Herter was the best player ever for the Sioux while Duncan and Belfour were the worst ) you don't see it. Brian Lee isn't going to be Niklas Lidstrom or Scott Stevens or Chris Pronger or whatever standard you use to define "the best modern NHL defenseman." At least, we don't know yet. But he's not a bust. Whatever though, keep on hatin'. It's what you seem to do best.

Is it me or does that large cylindrical object strongly resemble those wire waste paper baskets? Do they plan to call it "The Can?"
-
I guess I'm not sure how merely playing at Shattuck makes anyone in the least bit interested in UND. UND does a lot of recruiting of Shattuck players, but I don't think Shattuck is the place players go to be noticed by UND.

No, stars in the NHL like Alexandre Daigle

I played on the same line as Zach Parise during his freshman year! (oh.. wait... that's my College Hockey Video Game roster )

I don't know.... If the Sabres play like they did today in regulation, I'm thinking the Rangers will advance. Their passing was atrocious for most of the third period. Their powerplay was even worse up until the goal. Then again, with how crappy the Sabres were playing on the power play, I was equally unimpressed that the Rangers didn't try to go for a shortie given that they could basically do whatever they wanted with the puck in their defensive zone and most of the neutral zone. Que Sera Sera. I hope the Sabres finish up the Rangers (sorry PCM), but they won't do it if they play like they did in the third period.
