  1. My guess is that Miller and Radke will platoon. Radke will be the odd man out. I think Malone's freshman year will go a lot like Vandevelde's freshman year. VERY slow and awkward to start out. Great towards the end.
  2. Well, I couldn't figure out a way to bring in the bus and throwing motions into it, so I guess you're right.
  3. I'll be fair. I don't think LaPoint will start off being the whipping boy. Not with Finley still around. But by mid season, the Lee "haters" will pick up right where they left off. And yeah, those of you are tired of hearing this, but I don't care. We were tired of your "hating" a lot time before I started standing up for Brian.
  4. I think it should be: Chorney LaPoint Finley Bina Jones Genoway
  5. Wow. Couldn't have said it better myself. Good work.
  6. First, Good luck Brian! Second, I think Lee did a lot better than many of us think. We were just too fixated on a certain style of play for our D (like physical D and leave the offense to the forwards, which isn't Lee's gam at all). Third: WHEW!!! Now that Lee's gone, we can focus the bashing on LaPoint, whose play is similar to Lee's. I can't imagine this board if Lee and LaPoint were both Sioux at the same time. Lee and LaPoint would be among the team leaders in points for defensemen and almost every postgame calling one or another to be benched or signed. This will be easier around here now that there's only Finley to bash (LaPoint soon enough). Fourth Seriously, this is a blow to UND. Lee's offensive prowess and vision will be missed. His "haters" won't.
  7. I think Dean is pissed because Blake hogs the bathroom for too long.
  8. Saw that just after I posted it. Hence the edit. Souray is still available to the Wild. Don't think he fits their system though. Too high priced. Too highly talented. Has the "talent to" rather than the "potential to." Things that are big detractors to the Wild GM.
  9. Crisis averted. With a new 4th round pick and a potentially ok nobody from the Bruins, the Wild can continue their wonderfully powerful means of securing a playoff berth and losing to eventual Stanley Cup champions. The question is: Will they actually make it a series? Backstrom did great. I was really impressed with him. But they got jobbed BY BOSTON FOR CHRIST'S SAKE on the Fernandez deal (Seriously, did Doug take advice from Kevin McHale?) so now they have a few more million to go after some real players. Will they? Right now, they are looking at Alexei Yashin, which would be an interesting fit in Minnesota. He's older, most of his high scoring days are behind him, doesn't play especially good defensively...seems like a healthy scratch in LeMaire's system. In any case, around the league: Good work for Blake getting with Toronto. Don't know where that's going to take him, but he will be in a system that wants him to score. I hope he's up to the pressure. The Devils are an interesting dilemma. Their salary woes have pretty much evaporated but they need a center badly. EDIT: Briere didn't last long. NEvermind. This will be interesting.
  10. Something's fishy here..... Toews never played NDSU!
  11. Ok, here's devil's advocate: Should charges have been filed or this case been prosecuted to where it was? Who knows. But, police officers in the field are given a code of reference when it comes to the law. I almost think that they are instructed that it is better to arrest and have charges be dropped than let someone walk who was really guilty of a crime. Sure, the code changes for traffic citations, but that's my guess anyways. Bina opened the door a crack, it wasn't much, but the police officers thought it was enough. This isn't the Duke Lacrosse fiasco. The DA didn't try to nail his ass to the cross. It may have been better if some sort of arrangement could have been made insofar as that it not needing to take the time and money to bring it before a judge, but in any case, what is done is done.
  12. I think so too.
  13. With the exception of the Bourque that went to SCSU, wasn't the last Bourque that went to college rumored to be a poor student and left after a season for Major Juniors? I believe he went to BU.
  14. I'd guess there won't me much for a while. He's touted as a big name free agent and I'd guess he and his agent will want to test the waters for a while to find the right $$$ AND the right team offering the money.
  15. Beat my updating of my post.
  16. I actually mailed a correction to DJ Powers on that. He responded and said he'd forgotten the sixth. He mentioned all of the ranked Sioux recruits were drafted. Bruneteau wasn't ranked at the time of the draft (he was preseason IIRC) so Bruneteau was the missing tally.
  17. I like these lines. I don't know if Oshie and Duncan would get broken up, but if they did, this seems like a good arrangement.
  18. Here are my impressions on our picks in summary: 1. Surprised Malone went so late. I thought he'd be in the second or early third round. 2. Gregoire, Blood, and Frattin went about where I thought they would. 3. Eidsness went nearly a round earlier than I thought he would. 4. Bruneteau's drafting was a shock to me. IIRC, he was ranked by ISS preseason but didn't his stock fall off the map? Next thing you know, he gets drafted in the 4th round! Still surprised with Riley Nash being drafted in the first round.
  19. Things in the first round that I noted: 1. Wisconsin did well in the first round, which was expected. 2. For some reason, I thought Ptriecki and Pacioretty would go higher. 3. Shocked at the fall of Angelo Esposito. 4. Riley Nash in the first round... I didn't see that coming at all.
  20. You'd never know judging from the way some people view players around DI.
  21. I wouldn't mind UND becoming the amateur farm team of the Devils I like the Devils ALMOST as much as I liked the Yzerman-led Red Wings. (forgive me Wings fans, but I don't think they've been the same without Stevie. I like Datsyuk and Zetterberg... but I miss Stevie Y tons).
  22. I'll wager a few guesses: Malone: Late 2nd Round or very early 3rd round. Blood: Mid 3rd round Gregoire: Late 3rd round or early 4th Round Frattin: Mid to late 5th round Eidsness: late 6th round or 7th round (if he's drafted at all)
  23. By whom and which round?
  24. Truly. But why Goon? Maybe they could add Diggler too and then the team could score when Diggler makes the goaltenders cry with his merciless teasing.
