  1. Not bad for a guy who didn't evidentally deserve to be at the NHL Young Stars game.... instead that Russian nobody went (no, not AO... Radulov I think it was). No offense to Radulov (if that was his name) but if these two were available for my team, I'd choose Statsny and feel much better for it. Well, maybe next year those who select those players will get their heads out of their collected butts and name Statsny to the team to compliment Zajac, Toews, and whomever else rightfully deserve it.
  2. Sometimes its good to be MM! For those of us who actually have to work to pay the bills, on the other hand.... Anyways, this kid is one lucky guy. And I hear Russian players are pretty good stickhandlers. We should send him some info on UND
  3. My thoughts exactly. I was going to ask if Diggler may have peed in his cheerios or something...
  4. My desktop got it to work fine. For some reason my VAIO couldn't get it to download fast enough via wireless. Neat videos. Thinking like a scout, though, is hard. I have no idea what scouts look for in these videos. Did Malone look good even though there were no real highlight material in that video? I do realize that both videos showed how they skate so that at least I could figure out (couldn't tell if it was good or not, just that they were looking at how well they skate). It seems to me that Blood's video showed Ben in a good light. He was skating hard, checking hard, had some good stickhandling and defensive plays. Ok, he did get beat once.
  5. I must have a really slow version of cable internet because I watched half of Malone's video and all it was was still shots and hockey sounds. By the way, why does it list Malone as #15 on the sign to start and the video follows #22 around the ice?
  6. Maybe Garth couldn't figure out a way to sign Okposo for 20 years? (Sorry, couldn't resist the uberstupid move to sign DiPietro for 10 years or whatever that ridiculous amount was).
  7. I agree. At times, the let the Red Wings skate circles around them but never gave much up! It's almost like the coaching strategy was "Ok, boys, let's go out there, look sluggish. Make them look REALLY good but don't give up any goals. Then, when they are tired out, go for the throats!" And it worked! They embarrassed the Red Wings, that's for sure, though I wasnt sure how far they were going to get with all those old guys playing past their bed time and upset about missing bingo. Yeah, they are much younger, but it is still very evident that they are tragically (sometimes) reliant upon guys who are ancient by hockey standards.
  8. Comon! Where would KFAN radio rubes be without the excuses that Minnesota sports teams put out! If Minnesota sent no one to the World Juniors, what would Lucia blame for any adversity the second half of the season? Seriously, let Minnesota have all the hype. I like flying under the radar.
  9. Congrats to the Ducks! Condolences to Ottawa. Maybe next season you'll come ready to play.
  10. Precisely. I never said that I disagreed with SiouxForever on Jones or anyone. He had a valid point on that. But saying "I know a lot about hockey" and so on doesn't mean your word is gospel and that disagreeing with you or disagreeing with how you state it should be approached as anything less favorable than the original post itself. That being said, how nice of SiouxForever to drag my family into his insults on me. True, I questioned your expertise but I don't believe I attacked your character. If I did, I apologize. Truly insulting though. And Truck Monkey - I did overuse the bus thing, true enough, but the criticism of some of these players were really at a minimum for a while and all they were doing was calling for dismissal. Saying that a player didn't play well is one thing. Saying he sucks is another. I'll try to refrain from using that cliche'.
  11. Taking some trivia away, Diggler is right... in a sense. St. John's AHL team relocated to Toronto. They kept the same name.
  12. Like Eddie Shore?
  13. That was indeed a very nice dive. However, Dominic Hasek of years past would say that he could have done the same thing but less overtly and more spectacularly.
  14. That's funny. The Sens are down, and they are out. They look JUST LIKE the Sabres. THey don't shoot the puck nearly enough, they are too worried about the Ducks. They aren't able to counter the Ducks' physical play as well. Here's what I see: Two teams in the Finals: Team #1: TONS of Offensive talent. Good defensive talent. Not very physical. Expects to win every game. Team #2: Not as talented top to bottom as Team #1. Very physical. Comes to the arena (home or away) willing to and ready to do absolutely ANYTHING to win the game. Shoots the puck. Tries things differently. Adjusts well on the fly. Team #2 isn't Ottawa. Do the math. I want the Sens to win it all, but I'd be SHOCKED if they didn't fold in the next game.
  15. First off, I never said Neil didn't have his cheap acts. I like Tomas Holmstrom but I'd be the first to tell you that he does some rather dirty things as well. I'm sure non-UND fans would say the same thing about Mike Prpich. Secondly, every team obstructs to some extent and I don't think Lemaire has any room to speak ill of the trap. He's guilty of using that playing style as much as anyone else. I don't think it would have mattered regarding the Wild anyways. And, the way Buffalo played against Ottawa, it wouldn't have mattered for Lindy either.
  16. In today's USA Today Burke was his usual self and whined that Chris Neil's check on MacDonald was just as cheap and worthy of suspension but MacDonald didn't get injured. Campbell (the NHL Personnel dude) told him to mind his own business. Gosh, Burke-ie-poo, maybe if you weren't such a hall of fame quality whiner he would have given you more credence. Sometimes it sucks to be a whiner. Oh well, it's the Ducks' problem for hiring that guy. What a classic damned if you do damned if you don't scenario. Burke's not a bad GM in terms of assembling teams but he's not going to endear himself very well to fans and, more importantly, the league because of his legendary whining capabilities. An interesting conundrum. Ducks might not be where they are if it wasn't for Burke and they would probably be better respected by the league if they didn't have Burke. Interesting. I stood up for Pronger in the past and now this is the second time this playoffs he's headhunted. I can't defend him anymore. The Ducks have Pronger and Moen as cheap players and the Sens have Neil and MAYBE one other. Neither team is innocent at times, but it seems that the Ducks confuse headhunting with physical play. Nice to see they are the only ones fooling themselves. Go Sens!
  17. I'm assuming you mean after next season's completion. Bina and Radke aren't going anywhere this off season. Finley and Chorney said they'd stay. Lee we're still waiting for I guess.
  18. Won't we be looking for a goaltender in 2009 regardless because Walski would graduate then? Even so, I doubt we'd recruit anyone for a third stringer. We'd probably do the same thing as we did with Sofie and Walski and simply invite them to a tryout for a walk on goaltender.
  19. Lots of talent all around. BTW- When did Brent Solei transfer to Mankato?
  20. BAH. I'll leave the male models to Sioux-cia, Hockeymom, Siouxmama, and RTD.
  21. I didn't state that correctly. Looking back at Trevor Hammer, it is easy to call him a bust. I just don't think we should label any player a bust while he's still playing for the Sioux. Afterwards, well, that's a different story I guess.
  22. I really don't care about what the uni's look like. I'd rather have ugly jerseys and great players (win games) then male models in ultra cool jerseys who can't win s^&t.
  23. Nobody knows. The Islanders want to resign him. Philadelphia and Minnesota are reportedly interested. Sorry Wild fans, but I hope Jason lands somewhere other than Minnesota. Yeah, I'd love to see him closer to home, but I don't see his attitude meshing well with LeMaire and his playing style meshing with the Wild's "system."
