It is pretty cool. Not appointment TV or anything

Not enough data to be of use currently. We sweep at home and split on the road the rest of the way and we are around #8 in pairwise. That might be a big ask....Sweep CC, UMD, and Omaha at home, split all road series and WMU at home and we are around 12. The only relevant stat in pairwise currently is the team by team comparison. Many of the comparisons we are losing is due to RPI. Many of the RPI ratings will flip naturally based on who we play the rest of the year and who teams not from the NCHC play the rest of the year. UND just needs to handle their schedule the rest of the season and if they don't then it is on us.

Horrible play by our Captain. Late, unnecessary hit, contact to the head.

The only thing I am happy about is the 4 game parlay on the spreads and over/unders.

Ridder or Mariucci I think

Youngest brother went to Concordia. He ended up getting about 70-75% of his school paid for.

D3 not NAIA

Yeah. That was a head scratcher. You want to be able at least try the pitchy pitchy woo woo.

It was +6 at gametime

Get a little nervous when Hutson is out there and we don't have the puck.

A team will have the occasional sloppy game where they commit 18-20 turnovers....it happens. This team averages 22.5 against D1 teams. 2/1 Assist to turnover rate is a minimum goal. Ours is 1/2.4. At some point it may be advisable to shoot the ball as soon as you cross the half court line and can get a shot on the rim and then have everyone crash the boards.

Talked to a buddy who watches him play quite a bit. Said he is kind of like Brodzinski....shoots the puck a lot but usually gets it on net and scores or creates rebound opportunities....gets a little lost on defense sometimes but has grown and is putting on some muscle/weight and is trending up and getting better and better. Wouldn't mind getting his buddy from the same team who is already a great 200 foot player.

We had already been warned twice for late substitutions, and they were taking too long trying to figure out which d man to use to replace a forward on the power play.

2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
petey23 replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Their RPI is .0008 higher currently. UND will flip quite a few comparisons just based on their schedule the rest of way if they win 10-11 of the games. This is why I don't get too excited about pairwise until about 3-4 weeks from now. As long as UND is winning the comparables in head to head and common opponents the RPI will settle as the season goes on. Unless these teams have an amazing second half, LIU, Clarkson unless they sweep Cornell, UMass unless they beat Cornell and any possible games with BU, Princeton, UConn, Dartmouth, and Mankato will likely all flip to UND as the season goes on. I left out our conference opponents currently ahead of us since those games will take care of themselves. UNH and Lowell are also pretty good possibilities to flip as well. -
Never good to drive away a talented kid. Especially one whose father and mother were standout athletes at UND and I believe his sister is currently playing volleyball here.

We have always done it when we play Manitoba

Timing is everything. My first thought was maybe they will bring Jackson Eck back and then remembered he just left Idaho for New Mexico.

This is accurate. I have a good buddy who I went to High School with. Grew up rooting for UND and NDSU. Loves all sports, was a sportswriter for quite a while. He currently lives in Twin Cities, works for the University of Minnesota. His son went to South Dakota State, his oldest daughter went to UMD and his youngest daughter recently graduated from UND. He has a pecking order for who he cheers for depending on the sport.

Probably going to Washington State with his coach?

Kind of seems the opposite of that. Hence, this thread.

Just pointing out if Sandy was at UND with his record he would not have been the coach long enough to win 1 national title. Missed tournament 16 of 24 years as well. So you are good with UND making tournament once every 3 years as long as they win a title on average every 8 years. So by your math and throwing out 2020(unfortunate because it really was a two team race that season), Berry is good as long as we win a Natty by 2031-32 and he has 2-3 more passes to miss the playoffs over the same time period. For the record, don't get it twisted, I think Berry's seat should be pretty warm right now.

Sandy has finished .500 or below 10 times at UMD. Just saying.

Well, just speculating. He was recruited by the previous staff and Brady Hoke retired and the new coach brought in new staff after what would have been his redshirt season. Not sure how different the offensive philosophy from one coach to the new staff but may be a factor.
