Played better versus actually being better is kind of where I am going on that one. I left that weekend saying we're as good or better than that team. I've felt that with every team we've played.

I thought Wisconsin was the best team we played this year, not the most skilled but they had a gameplan and stuck to it. We were a little fortunate that night as they did clank iron at least 4 times and they had a crowd in front of the net quite a bit. It was a weird game as I thought we kind of took our foot off the gas and if Bucky had scored I did feel like we could ramp it up again, and while we had a big crowd it was kind of subdued(Bison game hangover)

  2. I think the wildcards UND has this year is that as long as we are playing responsible and good team defense we have a Goalie who can make the big save when needed and if we get in one of those clutch and grab games with the officials whistles in their pocket we have Blake, Gaber, and Perron who are capable of making individual skill plays to get a goal on individual effort and guys like Johannes and James who can grab a puck at our blue line and create offense and chaos going the other way in a hurry with their size and speed.

    From Craig Haley twitter:

    Teams With Multiple #StatsPerformFCSTop25 Wins
    6 – South Dakota State
    4 – Montana, South Dakota
3 – Furman, Idaho, Northern Arizona
2 – UAlbany, Eastern Washington, Elon, Montana State, North Dakota State, Towson, UC Davis, UNI, Villanova, Weber State, Western Carolina

If NAU could have got to 6 wins they probably would have been in playoffs. They lost FBS game at Arizona and had ball at 5 yard line down 31-28 against Sacramento State and got picked off in end zone with about a minute left.

UND and NDSU have met in the playoffs way more than two times. Playoffs were our kryptonite throughout history even in the years when we beat NDSU in the regular season. I said this before but the NDSU dynasty in ND doesn’t fall until we beat them in the playoffs….

No. We met them in the playoffs in 94 and 95. 1-1

I remember that 94 was the first time because their was a huge back and forth as to whether the Nickel Trophy would be on the line in a playoff matchup,

Sometimes on the scramble you need to take a couple of yards on yhw ground rather than looking to extend and throw. Seems like Tommy did that more last year.

When we call a passing play he treats the line of scrimmage like it is an electronic fence and he has a shock collar on.

Tommy is running for his life on a majority of the plays, his skills in eluding the rush are so good it goes unnoticed. If we had a pocket passer it would really be ugly.

He had several chances to pick up 6-8 yards but the line of scrimmage is like an electronic fence. if he took those yards and made teams pay the rush would slow down a bit.

In other news, they were the Duluth broadcast team, not a neutral third party (ala CBSSN).

Next we’ll hear Tim Hennessy may question calls that negatively impact UND. ;)

I thought the Duluth announcers were fan boying UND all weekend.
