If Blake leaves after this season, he'll be an ECHL lifer at best.

I don't agree. he would be given a few years in the AHL. If he wasn't able to cut it in AHL his best move at that point would to be go overseas. Not alot of room in the ECHL for finesse.

That said, I think he has elite skill and will figure it out.

Gaber wasn't leading as a captain this weekend and the team followed suit

Did he play this weekend? Didn't really notice. I guess that is better than getting noticed for the wrong reasons like Blake and Johannes.

SDSU scores to go up 23-12 and decided to go for 2. In what world (other than Bubba world) does that make any sense?  Kicking the extra point would make Villanova have to score two touchdowns.

Yep. I think they must have grabbed our chart.

The last few games (that I’ve watched) Blake is holding onto pucks way too long. He extremely skilled, but he’s turning over pucks constantly. With his vision he should be moving pucks quickly. He does have decent possession skills, but he walks the line so much that he misses multiple plays each sequence. He won’t make the next level if he doesn’t move pucks quicker.

Biggest bonehead play of the game was that HJ penalty when we were a man up. That can never happen. He should get pulled off the pp for a game or two after that one.

He may have set a single game record for turnovers and giveaways last night. he got picked at least 8-9 times and just drop passed a puck to no one or tried to force an impossible pass another 10-11 times.

  5. Did anyone happen to watch the SIU coaching staff piss away their game at Idaho on Saturday?

Announcers referenced the fact that SIU coaching staff made their kicker earn his job the week leading up to the game because he had been terrible all season. 2-7 on FG's coming into the game.

Idaho ties game with over 4 minutes left.

SIU gets the ball with 4:17 left, 3 timeouts and ball on 25 yard line.

They move the ball down the field picking up 3-4 first downs. They have ball at Idaho 38 with 40+ seconds left and still with 3 timeouts.

They move the ball to th 25 with all their timeouts remaining and still have around 20 seconds left after they run the ball for 3 yards to the 22. They decide to let the clock run down from 17 seconds and call timeout with 5 seconds left and start to send the kicking team out but then decide they should move the ball off the left hash mark and more towards the middle of the field so they snap it again and the QB runs to his right and takes a knee back at the 24 and call timeout with 2 seconds left to have their kicker who they don't trust try and convert what would be his longest field goal of the season to win it.

Missed it and then lose in overtime.

We have offered her. She isn’t coming to UND. She will go to a P5 team. Already has offers from Louisville, Oklahoma, TCU, Purdue, Wisconsin, and other high major teams.

Her teammate Fricke would be a good get as well.

the biggest issue with NIL is that it is not being used as it was intended to.

It's supposed to be that the athletes are able to market themselves- go out and find opportunities to make money themselves. Instead, it has turned into schools putting together collectives and giving money away because Coach X said they need to in order to get them here.

You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube...and the NCAA has allowed the tube to be totally squeezed out.

And the focus shifted from the NCAA and The Universities should be paying the athletes to now they can just let the Boosters pay the athletes money "legally" instead of duffle bags of cash left in the back of the Range Rover they bought for the athlete's parents on the down low. Win/win for the Universities and NCAA as they can still make a ton of money from their athletic programs and athletes without having to dip into their profits to pay them directly....the potential unintended consequence down the road is the boosters and alumni are now paying athletes which could affect their contributions/donations to the University in general and to the University Athletic programs. The Universities now need more money from State legislatures and are given the finger which leads to fights between Athletic Departments and the Academic Communities at Universities over the raising of and disbursement of "student fees".  We are quite a ways past the "O'Bannon vs. NCAA case.

I have been kicking myself for not pursuing NIL money back in the late 70’s in intramural basketball and softball

As someone who was on championship Intramural Softball teams at UND(multiple), NDSU, and Moorhead State despite only attending one of these schools it seems I should have had a better "Family Advisor" to look out for my financial interests and opportunities. :whistling:

Just wanted to make a quick appreciation post for the pairwise. I hate selection committees for both divisions of football.

    Florida State just got SCREWED.

An arguement could be made for Florida State when deciding the final 4 teams.

If we were going to the 12 team field this season and you had the top 11 and Liberty in the field and you are comparing more teams and resumes for consideration I would put the Seminoles 8th behind Georgia, Ohio State, and Oregon....pretty sure Vegas would agree as well.

So the NCAA can make billions off the kids, but then the kids can’t be paid because they aren’t “professionals”??? That makes literally 0 sense.

And best part for the NCAA and Schools is they still aren't paying athletes to make them money.

Isn't St Thomas non-scholly? Also not playoff eligible? I suppose if they have a grad program he wants then it might be a good fit, but if you can get some of that paid for, I'd be looking elsewhere.  Though maybe money isn't in the equation. Certainly a good program and good school.

Depends on if you care if the money for school is called an athletic scholarship or something else. Private schools have many ways of handling that.

My youngest brother went to Concordia and he ended up getting about 65-70% of his school paid for.

The body posture of the responders after 20 minutes of trying had me suspecting such but I was wishing for better.

    Requiescat in pace.

I saw the responders flying up the stairs. They had not come down when I left but did see them as I was getting in my vehicle in the MW lot and saw they did not have a stretcher with them when they left so was hoping for the best but knew having been up there that long that it probably wasn't good.

Had not heard Bohl turning down SMU before? Why would he do that and then end up at Wyoming? Seems like a bad miscalculation if true.

Not disagreeing with what you said, just pointing out that coaches leaving NDSU every 5 years to bigger things (shockingly) isn't accurate at all.

Bohl likes coaching. He didn't want to go to SMU with a 4-5 year contract and possibly get fired after a couple years and be stuck in limbo getting paid but not coaching.

Bohl coached them through the transition so he was their coach at FCS level for what? 6 years?

Klieman was their head coach for 5 years and Entz has been there for 5 years as head coach.

i know this is next level stuff but..........does flores say before the dj moore pass..."if a bear is past  the ____ yd line running free....let them score the td"

take your chances down 7 or 8 with over a minute and few to's left instead of a chip shot fg as time expires.....

I am glad he didn't as I needed Vikings to lose by less than 3 or win to hit the pay window to cap off a 6 game teaser. Got a little worried when the Vikings ran the old pitchy pitchy woo woo play at the end as those often times end up in the wrong end zone.

    Except that isn't true:
Bohl was at NDSU for 11 seasons.
Klieman was there for 8 season, 5 as head coach.
Entz has been there 10 seasons, in his 5th as head coach.

True. But they were on radar and getting offers.

    Bohl turned down SMU

I know UND contacted Klieman when he was still DC and before Bohl took Wyoming job.

Entz's name has come up in job searches as well.
