I think being in fcs you only want your coach there 5 years and spring board to fbs like bison coaches
ten years here too long
I said it a while back. If the A.D. asks potential coach where he sees himself in 6-7 years and the answer is right here, that should be a disqualifier.

This is a water under the bridge question…
if DeBoer had been hired 10 years ago as UND’s head coach, how many here believe he would still be here? What would the ceiling have been?
As an example, if his typical good season was 7 wins, would he still be here 10 years later or would he have been asked to find another gig?
On the other hand, from looking at his records at Fresno and Washington, would UND have made deep runs into the playoffs and then DeBoer move on (like, dare I mention, Bohl and Klieman) leaving the program in the hands of his protege or entirely new blood?
Just frustrating that Bubba is being given 10 years to rinse, repeat…
Have said this before, and believe it to be even more true after the way the Hawks finished the season, post NDSU. Freund is not the answer. The whole staff needs a re-tooling.

A little bit chicken/egg argument as to if it's coaching or talent - a bit of both with the understanding that coaches recruit talent. But we sure aren't getting the best out of the talent we have. After the SU game I thought wow - Bubba finally turned the corner. Wrong. The regression from that game was stunning. What kind of staff can't build off of that victory? Looking back the Dancing Bubba video almost seems like a cruel joke.
I love CJ Seigel and I know he may have been dealing with some injuries but is he any better right now than he was in 2019?

The Offensive sequence at end of 3rd qtr and start of the 4th was the game. That was our chance. Ball at mid field at end of qtr after a first down on 3 straight runs. Next 3 plays are two sacks and an incomplete pass. We take the lead on that drive and the game is ours. No idea why Danny called a pass at that moment other than he probably had too much time to think about the call between quarters.
When the 4th quarter started i texted my buddy who was traveling that UND has ball at mid field to start the 4th quarter and all the momentum...feels like we will probably win 38-28 or maybe 42-28.

The offense isn't the problem. This team averaged 31.4 PPG. No questions it's the defense. They gave up an average of 26.2 PPG. Which included 33 and 31 to bottom feeders Indiana St and Murray St respectively and 42 at home to a 4th place Big Sky team. So as much as people want to complain about quarterback play, that's not the problem. Sure, Trey has a bigger arm and might be more mobile, but 31.4 PPG is still pretty damn good.
Defensive personal needs to change, but most importantly, our scheme needs to change. It's time to retire the 3-4 defense. We have got to be one of the last schools in the country to still running it. They implemented it in the late 80's/early 90's for one reason. The to stop NDSU's option. No one does the option anymore. This would be a huge change that I think would prove to be very successful. It's time.
Actually they were the 6th place Big Sky team.

I’m pretty sure we’re playing the Concordia from Moorhead not St Paul
Ok. ESPN site says Concordia S.P. but I see CBS and our site say Moorhead

Speaking of non conference games I see the Bison have a game coming up with Oak Hills Christian college from beltrami county Minnesota.
Oak Hills has some of the following results this season
Lost to Rockford University of Illinois by 53
Lost to Bemidji State by 81
Lost to Valley City State by 63
The played a little tournament in Dickinson over the weekend and lost by 72 to Dickinson State and in the rematch with VCSU they managed to keep the deficit under 100 as they lost by 92.
-
The fellas better not sleep on the Tuesday game against Concordia St. Paul. They have been bad for a few years but their coach has rebuilt their roster a bit as they have 5 former D1 players including a 7th year senior who is averaging 25 and shooting 45% from 3 and as a team they are shooting 40% from 3.

This is our ceiling.
7-5 record built on a very favorable conference schedule and a playoff exit.
-
We make defensive adjustments at halftime. They make adjustments to deal with that in real time. I guess we will make some more adjustments during the second halftime.
-
Starting the 4th quarter this game had a UND 38-28 or 42-28 win written all over it.....and we just can't the f*ck out of our own way.

-
Credit to defense for making adjustments at halftime....just frustrating we can't seem to make changes in real time.
Their defense is worse than ours but our offense just refuses to stick with what is successful and continually makes head scratching play calls that put us behind the chains.
Someone unplug Danny's headset.
-
Score a TD before half.
21-28.
Score on first drive of second half....go for 2.
29-28
Probably our best option and hope we get ball last.
-
22 plays. 12 first downs and 2 touchdowns. On pace for 800+ yards.
-
We might need 38-42 to win today.

Difference is the OL with Rudy was awful. He was saved by Santiago and Oliviera
Just imagine if he could ever figured out how to put our 3 best offensive players in the game at the same time when we had Oliviera, Santiago, and JJ. He only had 2 in at a time about 15-20% of the time.

… Fertile woman found in Climax …
We used to have a party the day before Reading and Review day in the Spring. 3-4 buses with a keg on each. T-shirts for the occasion. We used to go to the Prairie Schooner in Angus, MN until they closed. One of the last years "We sucked Shelly dry" at whatever the bar in Shelly, MN was called at the time.

Lol was talking to the same parents. The team stayed at the Ramada couldn’t have picked a dump your hotel in Grand Forks for them. Laugh out loud other than the nights inn of course.
Ended up staying there a couple weeks ago. Hallways smelled like ditch weed and when I woke up in the morning my body felt like I had been in a car crash.

Kind of the reverse of going from Denver to GF with a trunkful of Coors. Ah, the good old days....
In College we had a fraternity brother from Chippewa Falls. Everytime he would go home we used to make him bring back as much Leinenkugel as he could fit. $6 a case and a nice hard box which when full of returnables doubled as furniture! Then Miller bought them out and doubled the price.

Not a nickname but feast your eyes on the final six candidates for the new Minnesota state flag....
The finalists favored by commission members signal a dramatic shift in imagery from Minnesota's long-standing state flag and seal, which have been criticized for decades as offensive to the state's tribal communities.
The seal, which is at the center of the state flag, shows a white settler plowing a field in the foreground while a Native American man rides on horseback into the sunset. Others have criticized the flag as poorly designed and too similar to other state flags.
Did they hire the same design firm that did UND's Hawk logo?

Rewatched the game on Midco.
I don't see things well when I'm at the game.
Example: Buckner had a nice game and the D did much better tackling. Still can't watch when it's 3rd and 20+.
Z was down a couple of times but gutted it out to make the final TD.
Tommy did a lot of nice things in that game. The TD to Gunderson (a TE!) took a calm mind and a deft touch. Thought O should have made that diving catch on the final drive.
ST's have been strong lately and I think Navratil (was it him) needed to head to the sidelines and may have run back that blocked extra point.
Lets fill the place on Saturday.
If he headed to sidelines he probably would have been able to pitch it or hand it to Seigel

TT traveled there at the top of the key. We'll take it though! Need a stop
Refs are only calling fouls...I have seen 9-10 worse traveling missed calls than that one.
