  1. I agree that our pedigree would help maintain and reup our pipeline, but I don't agree it would be "pretty easy". In fact, it would be very hard. I happen to think Bubs has been recruiting tremendously well and with the way the portal works these days, I'd be very nervous to make a change with our pipeline and our current roster. With that said, this uneasiness shouldn't ultimately keep UND from making a change if it needs to. I just don't think they need to. I don't agree it's time, but I don't know what the line is, honestly. Gwoz's firing came down to a lot more than performance.
  2. It's a fair question. I don't know what the line would be, honestly. So many people want to ignore regular season success, but in my opinion, it feels wild to fully judge a coach's resume of success year over year based on a one-and-done format. In theory, there are many here that would fire Bubs if he went 30-0 into the national tournament and his team lost in the first round. It's fine if you want that. I just disagree.
  3. Yes, that was the point of my original comment that I responded to.
  4. No, but I've never once been a fan of firing for the sake of firing. I get incredibly nervous about losing our pipeline.
  5. In a while, yes. It's a festering scab that I've never been able to figure out how to stop scratching.
  6. Not arguing any of that. I'm saying... after all the ups-and-downs of this season, we lose in the regional final, the season wouldn't be considered a "success" to me, but my goodness, certainly not gonna fire the coach after it. My opinion. My overall concept to this thread is that we aren't firing Bubs midseason. What is the point of this now? Let the dang season play out.
  7. Whether or not you all want it or not, if a firing does happen, it won't happen until the end of the season. Wouldn't it just logically make sense to let the season play out? No? OK, cool lol.
  8. So, just to clarify, if UND pulls itself up from a really tough run of early-season games that lead them to a brutal PWR, during which they lost their best forward, arguably two of their best three defensemen, their captain, and several depth players to injury, makes the tournament, wins a game in said tournament, but loses in a regional final, you'd still want to move on from the coach?
  9. Welp, this tweet achieved its goal... get clicks and talks from the UND fanbase 😄
  10. UMD's? Yes, for sure. To the related topic, the point was that it's hard to win a natty and even teams with ridiculous lineups haven't won one since 2012. UMD and DU unfortunately are two exceptions to this timeframe.
  11. LOL speaking of their current state, I guess you can feel free to use them as an example. Can you think of any others? I can't. Hence the point of terming it an outlier.
  12. Of course it matters. But they are the outlier is what I'm establishing by my comment.
  13. It's almost like it's really hard to win the national tournament lol. Think of all the blue chippas on these 6 teams since 1998. Even since 2012. Zero titles.
  14. They know the diagnosis. They are trying to see if he can avoid surgery.
  15. Got an OT win last Friday! Haha maybe it's a sign?
  16. How bout it, boys? Let's get a big effing sweep. Time to get on a roll.
  17. Yeah, how so? Not sure how an early November away game equates in any way to a neutral site March game.
  18. Fri - Jammer Sat - Perron
  19. I think it was a "per weekend" thing. Two wins one weekend, two wins the next.
  20. Caleb Heil is currently 6-0-1 with a 2nd best in the USHL 2.12 GAA and a 5th best .917 sv % But, whatever helps your narrative, I guess.
  21. This. Feels like a smarter plan to bring in an older guy, IMO
  22. Bringing in Laurila, we'd need to be careful. We HAVE TO be sure we have guys who are gonna be out for a bit because frankly, it would be a disaster to have him come in and sit the bench because people healed up. Plus, that's a very awkward conversation with Fargo, who's rapidly becoming a the best team in the USHL and a pipeline that we MUST keep open, that we're going to take your best player. I'm thinking Matt Cullen's son....
  23. Not what I'm hearing, but basically it's not healing like they expected. Trying to figure out the recovery process. Getting opinions. Hasn't skated and really isn't close.
  24. I was trying to tell people this!
