C'mon! That was funny! It's been a really crappy season and this weekend really frickin' sucked. Let's just take some levity. -

More of a symptom of our defensemen than the system. -

Completely fair. I'm still uneasy about it. But, at this point, it might not be a terrible idea. Idk. -

Good start. Uh, I smoke originally, buddy. Well, if nothing else, that was pretty dang funny and SiouxSports could use a little funny, these days! -

It shouldn't be, but I'm guessing from a perspective that a kid maybe is really good and thinks "Man, if I slump, I'm gone", wouldn't be too appealing. Of course, it could work the other way and it could motivate them. Just thinking out loud. -

For sure. We've had a lot of pipes this year, too. I feel like we had at least 5 this weekend. This would make our Corsi numbers even more annoying. -

Pulling an offer from a commit is fine. I'm all for that if they are showing regression. Still not sure I agree with it for current players. I'm all for a wake up call, for sure. -

Part luck, part all of that haha. I'd be interested in a "missed net" stat. -

I've wrestled with this one before, too. It's such a hard line to balance. Say we yank a couple under performing schollies and a player or two leaves, what does that say to our recruits? Sure, it could mean that we don't accept under performance, but it's also a commentary that if you don't produce, you're gone. This could cause pause to good recruits. It sucks that a guy like Donavan is leaving because he knows he doesn't have a spot, next year. But, yanking schollies doesn't feel like the best for our program long term. -

That, or guys who have put the puck in the net before aren't putting the put in the net. We have SOGs, but not a good scoring percentage. Probably a mix of both factors. -

Sweet. Thanks for doing that. Maybe I'll get bored at work today and run a bunch of scenarios lol. -

Shooting percentage is glaring. Awful, awful stuff. Creativity is huge with this, but maybe we start just piling in front, at this point, and keep firing since we have possession. We have no one that is picking corners, at this point. -

I've heard this a lot, but I'd like to know if it's true. Does Dahl's PWR website do a predictor? I feel like with DU, UMD, SCSU, WMU still on our schedule, we have room to move up. Of course, we have to win those games lol. -

Lol alright, man. I was disagreeing with the idea that you brought up that analytics are a problem as to why UND isn't winning games this year, but ok. Your view is simplistic and that's fine. I said that possession USUALLY leads to goals. We're an outlier. -

How did you get that out of what I said? I literally just said USUALLY possession leads to goals and we're a part of the outlier. -

I'm an analytics guy, so I'd disagree. I promise I'm not just being contrarian haha. In this particular Corsi piece, possession usually leads to goal and this supports that premise with most of the Top 20 teams in Corsi being pretty successful -- the outliers -- Us, BSU, BC, for sure. Other than that, that's a list of the best teams in the country. -

This is very true. No corner picking, for us, of late. Pretty much all season. Lots of logo burners. -

We've recruited plenty of heralded guys. I'm not going to keep repeating myself as it's not worth my time, but, again, we missed on one class -- the current junior class. That hurts our Sophs. But, our sophs are our best talent right now and we need to get them going. There isn't some magic ball that guarantees them performing at this level. For every Brock Boeser, there's 15 Mike Cichys. We recruited guys that MANY, if not most, wanted (Kawaguchi, Mismash, Adams, etc.). In my view, we have a lot of talent on this team, particularly on the back end with the forward reinforcements (And still loads of new d-men) coming in the next couple of years. I don't see recruiting as a weakness in any way, shape or form. As others have said, maybe we need to change up the system for the current roster? -

Look at the Corsi numbers. Possession usually leads to wins. It's not, this year, and that's why it's a story. Who's taken the mentality that it's any sort of a moral victory that we're outshooting teams? He's saying that because it's true. So, you want him to ignore that we outshot Cansius 3-1?
