I'm really excited to see what Mattson has to offer. I'm sure he'll go 2nd round as well, but I'm also concerned that he'll have a little trouble adjusting to the speed of the game. USHL provides that adjustment. I feel that Knight is more prepared to come in now then Mattson, but wont complain if we see Mattson here this season. I really think its a long shot that Mattson comes in this year.

SIOUX Recruits - 2008-09 Updates, Monitoring Their Junior League Play
tho0505 replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Sounds like Kristo put on some weight. It's nice to see our guys get experience at different levels, not just with the development teams. Kristo is settling in nicely too- 48 gp 20-34-58 - Same thing with Cichy, I guess he had the option to come in this year (08), but opted to stay to build on his game. I guess he put on like 25 pounds and is now tearing up the league as well. I really think we're going see special things from these two no doubt, but Cichy is going be the man! Both guys are getting alot of work on the PP, which is nice, because as we all know...the sioux need some help. Also Matt White I noticed is a sioux recruit playing for Omaha. He's putting up solid numbers as well. 58 gp 15-30-45. -
About BU winning it, not Wilson leaving!

I hope your wrong!!!!

Good for him! This '05 class was something special for UND and now for pro hockey. Hopefully the same will go for the class of '09-10

Not an early departure, but Mr. Joe Finley just got signed by Washington Washington: Signed D Joe Finley (North Dakota) Washington assigned Finley to Hershey (AHL)
-
Philadelphia: Signed F James vanRiemsdyk (New Hampshire) vanRiensdyk is gone!

Actually UND is out of the WCHA, there making a big ten conference with Penn State, Illinois, and the whole crew. Iowa is adding D-1 hockey as well.

Oilers have agreed to a three-year entry level contract with prospect Jordan Eberle http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=414991&...%20in%20English Looks like theres a still a chance that VV comes back. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/1096...cts_spring2009/ Of there top prospects, VV ranks 8th and basically everyone before him has signed a contract, besides Riley Nash (maybe one or two more i didnt take the time to look). Gives me hope!

DAR Completely agree about Cichy. I think by far the most underrated recruit coming in. He will put up 30+ pts next season, he's tore up the USHL for each team hes played for each season. So it doesnt really matter who he plays with, he's a natural playmaker. We need a guy like Cichy to bring consistant scoring on a line, night in and night out.

Looks like Bozak is gone basically for sure! Any day now. http://media.www.duclarion.com/media/stora...tmlemailedition

Haha! Yeah we are much more spoiled than Michigan fans. (I'll be honest, I root for Michigan after UND) They haven't won it since '98 and I'd be interested to know how many times they've been #1 seeds going into the tourney since then. We have a 9 yr drought, just think of a 11 yr and counting drought. I don't want to experience it! We are definately due in the next year or two! Is Eidness the man to bring us to #8? I didn't feel that way on saturday, but we'll see, it's only up from here!

Its not so much for the fact that we're complainers. It's the fact that that game going into OT was a REGULAR SEASON GAME! We as Sioux fans obviously think that its the most important game of the year, but in all reality it was FAR more important than that lacrosse game! It was an NCAA tourney game, not regular season! IMO it should've switched, but I am bias. It would've switched for college bball, baseball, FOOTBALL, volleyball, soccer, water polo, and field hockey. Oh well its over. On another note, lacrosse at UND would never hold up in a million years. It's crazy to think we first could get top tier talent, second even compete, third even get fans to come watch it. The surrounding areas don't even have lacrosse so we can't recruit local talent, who thinks were going be able to recruit guys from NC, VA, and NY to come out here for lacrosse. Fun to entertain the thought, we might as well get a ski team!

Agreed. It's funny reading posts on it, because the article is still getting posts ripping it apart. If I was MU I would remove it!

Starting the 16th

I wonder if there is still a chance of Jeremy Morin coming our way. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/5635 It says it was last update on the 23rd, so maybe Morin is coming the NCAA route instead of Kitchner of the OHL. He'll be in fargo this weekend, hopefully the coaches will be too!

Do you mean DYNASTY??!
-
Yeah...the team basically wear's everything nike/bauer except skates/sticks depending on obviously a players preference. I've noticed around the NCAA basically every team wears nike jersey's, socks, and pants. The only one team i've noticed who doesn't is Wisconsin and they wear Adidas (who would ever guess). Since Nike is selling bauer, I wonder what brand we'll go with. Probably Reebox, i hate reebox (no offense) stick to basketball and football cleats.

Yeah I realized that while I was reading it. It's still an absolutely crazy article. It's probably worse that it was written nearly two years ago, then if it was written today.

Some new departures... Anaheim: Signed D Mark Mitera (Michigan) San Jose: Signed D Joe Loprieno (Merrimack)* San Jose: Signed D Nick Petrecki (Boston College)* *Early departures http://insidecollegehockey.com/7Archives/N...ignees_0809.htm

Agreed. But it really depends on who gets him and their immediate needs. I'd be surprised if he signed so quickly. It seems like teams are giving solid first rounders at least two years in the NCAAs first, ie) Wilson (1rd, 7th pick), vanRiedsdyk (1 rd, 2nd pick), okposo (one and a half) parise, toews, oshie. But again its hard to predict.

Not that it wasn't obvious, but this article sums up Bozak leaving for sure. Looks like he's weighing his options and then going to make a decision. The article states by "week end." http://sports.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/...ortsHockey/home http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/darren_dreger/?id=272891 Down in DUdsville, it sounds like Rueggs and Rak are still very questionable, especially Rueggs. I guess we'll see.
