According to Brad in the Laurila article, Dillon Simpson is the new coach.

I don't like it, as it's his first coaching job and I'm also not sold on always hiring a former UND player. If they wanted a former UND player, then get someone with coaching experience.

It doesn't concern me that much being it's a 3rd assistant coach.

Its bittersweet. Closer to closing up the cabin, putting the fishing stuff away along with all the other fun summer things.

But, we get the nice Fall weather. Football, closer to hockey and kids go back to school.

I love fall, just not so crazy about what comes after that.

Exactly, the after fall part is when you question why the hell I live here. And Spring through Fall reminds me. It's a never-ending cycle.

Question:   Now that we pretty much know what the lineup card will look like most nights this year, absent injuries and scratches (and a last minute Gretzky-like add), which past Sioux team will look the most like this year's team?  In January, not October.

So I can get a preview on the memories thread.  Panzer era too much to hope for?

A perfect mix between the Hrkac Circus, DOT, Pony Express & CBS team

All it validates is that everyone has a price and the PIF has an unlimited amount of money.
Oh, also lawyers and lawsuits are expensive and retaining a non-profit status is incredibly valuable.

Took the words right of my mouth.

LIV as a product or a business model was an abject failure on its own merits. It was a vehicle to pump enough money into the sport to leverage the PGA Tour into getting the PIF a seat at the table.

  5. This isn't a merger so much as the PGA Tour absorbing the LIV and it's financial backing.  LIV may not even exist going forward in its current form.  The insane thing is that none of the players on either side knew about this before reading it on twitter.  Talk about a heel turn by Jay Monahan, went from LIV guys are paid by the backers of 9/11 to being completely fine taking their money(I'm guessing it was a lot).

Read my post again, s.l.o.w.l.y. It’s about the kid and his state of mind and actions. Says nothing about anything else. The additional words are supportive of the argument ‘buddy’…

You're misinterpreting what I'm saying, that's cool. Not worth losing sleep over, have a good one

I don’t know why anyone would want to read between the lines of a quote by a 20 year old trying to justify their decision to leave a program with the history of a North Dakota. He’s a kid. He wants to play. Let him be.

It’s not that deep buddy, I’m not worried about the “history of North Dakota”. I’m wondering what Luke’s experience was actually like at UND. Also, it’s the off-season.

  8. The ones that stuck out to me, didn't realize Matt Wellens didn't quote Bast in the 1st one(wonder why):

Bast said he respects that UMD took him out of the transfer portal to fill a void on the roster this season, not to push out any other current players or recruits. He also respect how protective the staff is of the program’s culture.

“Everyone talks about culture, like literally every program,” Bast said. “There’s some programs that actually walk the walk and other programs that talk the talk. What I’ve heard from Duluth is they walk the walk when it comes to culture. That was very appealing to me.”
