Should be no issue for Pilgrim to continue his 2.97 PPG once he gets to UND...right?

This pushes back against the whole "B1G Taking Over The World" narrative pushed by some on here.
Great pick up!
Also, they haven’t won the big game despite some on here thinking it was a foregone conclusion either MN or Michigan already had the title in hand.

It's only April.
Last April we were probably already arguing Sioux vs Hawks so it's an improvement.

As much as we bemoan the portal, it sure does make the offseason more interesting around here

Did Minnesota have a successful season?
Yes, and a crushing end. I believe you can have both. But not finishing will haunt them similar to our 2010-11 season.

I'm with you the longer we hear crickets the more worried I'm getting and potentially with the Strathman rumors we might need 3 more.
Perhaps the shakeup in Mankato has Berry making a few calls...

Yea, Omac is top 6. To those worried about Blake….he’s not going anywhere. Nowhere near NHL ready
The combination of his size, his legacy at UND, and I imagine a dad who tells him exactly what it takes to play in the NHL will keep him here. Probably for 2 more years if I had to put $ on it.

I might be imagining things that don't happen, but I would guess Anaheim would have a pretty good idea of what it will take to sign Caulfield before trading for his rights. Not tampering or anything like that, but agents and GMs have a way of getting their messages across. So I'll be surprised if he doesn't sign.
That was kind of my thought too

No way Omaha fans are going to be bitter about this

Two years ago, the Fighting Hawks got Chris Jandric out of the portal. Jandric played two years at UND, earning first-team all-National Collegiate Hockey Conference honors this season.
Jandric and Pyke were teammates in 2019-20."
Going to miss Jandric, he was a great pick-up.

We’re all fans of the program (obviously)…but looking at the folks that are attempting to spin this all in a positive light is hilarious. I wear green coated glasses but this is something entirely different hahaha
Honestly not that obvious sometimes. If you can’t see the positive at forward next year and that some of these moves are addition by subtraction, i can’t help you. Most everyone I’ve seen has pointed out the concern with no returning dmen and goalies but only so many people can hold a metaphorical ‘World is Ending’ sign on this site. There are things to look forward to. Maybe they’ll have another down year and Berry’s position is in jeopardy but my money is on the opposite

Here's my thought(not that anyone cares): This is alarming because it's unprecedented but the moves make sense. Our defense was one of the worst in the country last year, the =/- stats looked like the first page of a leaderboard at The Masters. I'm ok with all of these transfers IF Berry has a plan and has secured commitments from guys transferring in. If we're being honest with ourselves Moore was a GD liability on the back end all season, he turned the puck over so much I thought he played for the other team half the time.
The offense is only going to be better with one more year of a stronger, faster Gaber, Blake, James(who made a huge step last season), Strinden, the list goes on. Add in a top 6 forward transfer, Perron(who by all accounts sounds like Blake 2.0) & Emerson and we should have zero problems scoring goals. Grab some d that can take care of the puck and eat up minutes and a goalie that can maintain a very low bar of .910+ save % and we will be an NCAA team fighting for a Penrose.
Just one optimistic fan's opinion.

Id really like kunz to take a step because we are small(but fast and skilled)up front. Be nice to get some size besides Juddy

My point stands, it's a massive overreaction from 1 game.

Big 10 has 1 decent round of an NCAA Tournament(The 1st round nonetheless and against a couple of 4 seeds) and everyone loses their minds. Classic overreaction, a couple wins over Canisius and Colgate and apparently college hockey is changed forever.
Ask yourself, when's the last time these high flying programs won the ultimate prize? 5 years ago? 10? 15? 20+ years ago you say?!

Caufield coming back feels like good stability for next year's team. An upper classman that scored double digit goals and can bang bodies.

I prefer the netter-netter-netter strategy myself where all 3 guys score goals... just a bunch of unassisted breakaways

Not overly big, but a lot bigger than DeRidder. See AJS post above concerning Basse and his numbers at CC and now at St. Cloud, and I would argue CC has recently been a little more responsible defensively than Miami has, but you never know how it transitions from no pressure to a ton of pressure.
That's the unknown variable, playing at The Ralph. Driscoll and Deridder took a while(Deridder even longer) until they looked comfortable at REA. Deridder looked mighty comfy at the Mooch early in the season but at REA he turned into a sieve. I'd argue it's the toughest place for a goalie to play. Where else are you letting down 12k fans every goal you let in?
