For the record, I've never participated in the cheer. Mostly because I always thought it was a silly college kids cheer but I guess I never equated it with shaming women. This is the first I've heard someone mention that and I know other people thought it was directed at the men's hockey players. It doesn't "cause trouble" like you're referring to for me, I just wonder if we're reading into a silly college chant a little too much.

Very interesting article on CHN by Adam Wooden http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2015/11/24_big_ten_legislation_raises.php 2 things: 1. I hate that the Big 10 hockey conference has the power to unilaterally put this to a vote without the support of NCAA coaches (49-11 against) 2. I would doubt UND is one of the 11 schools for this legislation. I believe we've had some 25 year olds recently but couldn't think of names.

I really like the direction this hawk logo is going compared to many of the others I've seen. Although, the beak doesn't quite do it for me. I can't put my finger on it but it may be the color.

Just to be clear, is it still ok if I chant "JUS-TIN-BIE-BER!" in unison with the "LET'S GO BEA-VERS!" chant? Because I don't think I want to live in a world where that's not acceptable.

2 hours to St. Cloud, 1 hour to Grand Forks... You can't get much more neutral than that without playing the game in Fergus Falls. Can't fault UND for having a better fan base than the Huskies. Hell, we had more people in Minneapolis for the Frozen Faceoff too.

Great work, you obviously have some real artistic talent. I love incorporating the "style" of the old logo into the new head. Might be one of the better hawk head logos I've seen.

A 'small sampling size of a large family' is a huge jump to 'determining the 10,000+ people voted for FH' (too lazy to lookup exact numbers). Your last question is just a set up question based on a false assumption that it can only be one or the other, so I won't waste time answering it...but then again these people could be really, really dumb (I couldn't resist)

I would give anything to insert Norsemen, Roughnecks, Nokota, and many more in place of our choices... As crazy as this sounds (even to me), we should have almost let the committee pick the name so that they had to adhere to their rules of being specific to North Dakota and unique. I really want to hear what each member voted and how in the world Fighting Hawks fits the criteria for UND that they(the committee) created. It really baffles me.
