There are many instances when a goalie is helping a team by playing the puck. One example, team on the PP rings the puck around the boards from center ice and goalie stops it behind the net for his teammate to easily handle and fling down the ice as opposed to the puck getting to the other winger and setting up their powerplay. The benefit of it isn't immediately apparent as it doesn't usually translate directly to a goal but it's not as black-and-white as saying 'I hate goalies who play the puck and think they're helping their team'.

Yup, I was going to college in Colorado Springs at the time of the Denver FF. We drove up and tried to scalp tickets but scalpers weren't budging off their outrageous prices. We opted to stay in that bar(can't remember the name now) and watch the game on tv as well. Although the game went south fast, I did enjoy watching the scalpers tickets turn worthless in about 15 minutes.

I also thought it was weird he didn't try to sidestep him, he saw Drake coming the whole way and almost loaded himself for the hit rather than try to dodge it. I know this because if he hadn't loaded himself they both would've gone down. The ref hardly moved after contact.

Yeah my response wasn't necessarily directed towards you. I agree with everything you said. I thought it was a joke that all 3 of them were named as Hobey finalists. I can think of some guys on our team that are right up there with them and we showed that this weekend. IMO I'll take CBS over CCM any day of the week.

So he would've only scored 40 or 50 points?... and we wouldn't want him on our team? My glasses are tinted as green as the biggest Sioux fans but saying we wouldn't want one of the most dynamic players in the country is asinine.

It was $298/person roundtrip. However there wasn't any nonstop flights from Mpls to Tampa that got me there early enough on Thursday to feel comfortable. And I'm not about to connect somewhere after hearing about the nightmare of people watching the game in the Chicago airport last year.

Officially booked my flight from Minneapolis to Orlando, renting a car and driving to Tampa. I just went to Vegas and it wasn't kind so I am saving money any way I can. Do we know for sure which end of the ice UND shoots twice on?

Yup, I watched some player interviews after they came back to campus and they frankly seemed happy to just be in the NCAAs. I know this is deriving a lot from interviews but there could be the mindset where they subconsciously win the HE tournament and settle for just "being there". On the other hand, UND expects to be there every single year and knows the work has just begun. That's my "over-analyzation" for the day.

On the flip side of the coin, when some of the teams we've had like that burn out in the NCAAs people comment that maybe they got burned out playing in must-win games throughout the 2nd half.

On second thought, maybe the BIG could swipe Miami and the NCHC adds ASU? Miami seem to be complaining about travel lately.
