great insight, I would humbly add that the success of youngster in the NHL may lead to more talent going that way.. I hardly got to see Duncan as I was in the no coverage / no time double blanket in western ND. But he became a favorite in short order, including my son wanting to be #16 still to this day... Got to wonder if Gaudreau & Duncan swapped time frames would Ryan be on the cover of Hockey News? in the same thought if Toews was 17 today, would UND be on his radar, especially for 2 years?

I don't think B-Rad it the man to lead to a ..ship, not at this juncture of his career. Doubt the program has the patience to let him develope into Sandy....
-
not sure why this is stated as a fact, if I was JBD or ottawa I would be considering things, same with mismash, adams, and tyonchuik..... those boys want to be in the show and player development is the key, culture only counts if it works....
-
I am very optimistic with Senden, strangely enough I was tickled when he got called in a the last minute as it were.. makes me feel like a savant... My concern is player development, if that doesn't show that players will improve then recruiting will suffer.. Is B-Rad too old?

It is Darrell's identity to champion the new name and squash any menton of the former. Quite ironic #moveonyourself

exactly, one scoring phenom/star and 3 character guys... I don't think anyone on these boards can spell out the magic formula other than pure guessing.... not sure B-Rad is any more adept at it, hopefully he and hak are pounding beers in the garage nightly

who were the seniors on the 16 team? Drake, Colton, some 4th liner from saskywan.... everyone has their place Gardners issues should have been addressed long ago, I think he as given a pass (debate that decision) because the large loss of talent from 16 & 17 seasons made him untouchable. He was / is prone to brain farts, not sure if or how to repair that, a recruiting miscue, maybe. Time to learn and move ahead.

I find it interesting that several posts on this and other threads have commented on how good our defensive corps is, didn't we have several instances of giving up a 2 goal lead in the third? Doesn't that kind of show our defense also has issues? Speaking of defensive, it seems to me like our plan is cycle, then back to point of a shot, which makes for a lot of perimeter shots, which should work if. IF we have forwards crashing the net, but what I saw was all three forwards in the corner so we win that puck battle, leaving less for the opposition to cover and free them to cover the point. During the Denver series I noticed they pressured the point quite a bit... I suspect Berry's system is too well known and also stifles creativity, the forwards first thought is their defensive responsibility.... Is it october yet?

University of North Dakota Hockey 2019-20 Season
90siouxfan replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Not sure this is accurate because you added "with the puck"... I saw seen (MM will edit) lots of hustle but not really any outstanding danglers..... and definitely no deadly snipers... so I believe scoring by committee is next on the standard game plan. The talent level by resume should have been enough to get that plan executed... so what happened. Perhaps the players were not trusting, saw lots of all forwards in the corner battle with nobody ready for the outlet. Or perhaps they started to "do it all myself" play.... Either way the coaching staff is responsible... watching Thru the doors and hearing coach Jackson tell Rhett he is playing the right way and playing fast out there had me scratching my head. Speaking of the Thru series, is it just me or is there an abundance of yellow pinnies in every episode? I mean more than prior years, definitely more than reported? Is there a training - conditioning issue? Seems like a pattern of dominate Friday, poop the bed saturday could be seen.. When is october, time to chip ice and shove chunks. -
Will the price for regional tickets dip low enough for someone to pay me to go? asking for a friend...

Anyone having problems with NCHC.tv tonight
90siouxfan replied to SiouxFan in DU Country's topic in Men's Hockey
So next season I expect to have a different living arrangement, and am contemplating no cable just internet. Will I my Sioux hockey addiction be a problem? Is NCHC.com boondoggle worth the expense & aggravation? -
I assume you are talking about tiling. My shallow understanding is the system can also be used to hold water, but I don't have a clue whether it is a significant tool or who makes the decision.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2019-20 Season

maybe if your development is not progressing, even regressing is a possible scenario where I would disagree, but I would think it would be rare, and highly subjectable.. -
Is the bantam level dividing teams by school districts? Are you making the assumption that this 50/50 split is a done deal for the next season at the varsity level. As far as a super team, from my perspective which is a long way from then inner working of GF, I am not implying a concerted effort to build a state championship team for each year, it is not like the Bismarck girls cabal. But GF is the dominant force in ND HS hockey, if I had KEM money, would a private school, invite only, competing in MN HS level, that puts the best GF players at a higher level, be good for ND hockey. My thinking is Central & Red River would still have teams, the field would have a bit more parity.....

Where does this put us in the draft? -

If history shows up we dominate, score early and often only to crap the bed tomorrow... raspBerry just doesn't have the "it" factor.... -
Has a D1 coach ever voluntarily stepped down and give up his contract?

not a fun season....

or maybe they are more trained to not slip one past the goalie.... I'll show myself out...

Did the boys make it to Denver yet?
-
my concern with a AAA team, junior team, etc in GF is the majority of the players would be non resident as that is the model of those teams. Seems like if the top 20 GF players were on an elite team that played in MN, then ND parity would be better, split Bismarck into 3 teams (but not allow "super teaming") would also help, same could kind of be said about Fargo... the issue is hockey is a sport for the "rich", meaning families that are willing to spend, not necessarily that they are loaded.
-
not an expert but you seem to just be kicking bottineau and hazen/beulah down to jr. gold. Not sure that accomplishes the issue. Maybe make grand forks split the kids better instead of the "super" team from central.... not that anyone is going to unseat either school very often. i would think an actual super team from GF playing in MN would help parity a bunch, along with bismarck having 3 schools.
