Do you suppose Moore considered himself and "offensive" defenseman... I think he was touted as one when he arrived. and with that mindset it didn't appeal to him to be the patriarch of a young group, forcing him to be the stay at home, responsible defenseman.

Is this true for each week of the season? Or just few weeks in February, my memory it's a not so good. Seem to recall the last few weeks of the season and it went stale.

I speculate that coach sells recruits on path to the NHL by improving thier defensive play. Unfortunately without studs to pot goal it can make for crap seasons. These players top goal is the NHL, they may say natty in front of a mike or in open conversation but when hey close thier eyes at night its all NHL.

Lots of emphasis in this conversation refers to producing goals & assists. I'm not so sure coach doesn't have a few additional criteria.
