  1. Does this mean that if UMD has to play in yet another 3rd place game that that would be on TV also? I will be going to the F5, but I like to record the games also so I can watch the replays they wouldn't show in the building.
  2. The Frozen Four will never be held outside. The seats are too far away, and beer sales will suffer due to the cold. PLus the weather could be unseasonably warm...then the quality of the ice, and the quialty of play will suffer. The NCAA better be able to resist the $$ signs circling their heads when they think about selling 90,000 tickets to one game (which they would likely never do anyway unless they sold them REALLY cheap) and think about the integrity of the game and the impact that a quality fan experience has on ticket sales.
  3. 6th...WE WILL CATCH YOU!!! Seriously, I think the Sioux will most likely finish 5th, unless they play AA with the cockiness that the Gophs did this weekend, and UMD sweeps the hottest team in the country
  4. In defense of the Gophs goaltending, the first goal he never saw (perhaps he should have, although AA has some big guys setting screens) and it was a PP goal. The second one was screened again, but that one should not have gone in. The third goal was deflected (off Irmen), and was on essentially a 3 on 2 due to Potulny's loose grip on his stick and Irmen's inability to figure out which man he was supposed to cover. The fourth goal was on a breakaway due to an ill-timed defensive line change (and a great pass), and the fifth goal was scored with an extra attacker (meaning there will always be someone open) on a nifty pass and one-timer as JJ thought the skater was going to circle the net. There were no goals scored on 5-hole tricklers, fanned shots, or juicy rebounds. The quality of those 22 shots AA had far outweigh the quality of the Gophers 10,000 shots (as tallied by Woog)
  5. just got done watching this one, and what a great game it was. great job by AA to find the open man on the 6x5. I agree with RW that the Gophs seemed to think the Stevens goal meant game over. AA had the bulk of the chances in OT and the Gophs are lucky they didn't get swept. I listened to the third period (stopped watching after the Gophes went up 4-2 and seemed to be rolling) and Shaver seemed ridiculously upset with the officials for not calling a slash that left Ryan Potulny stickless, and taking him out of the play that resulted in the third AA goal. Doesn't look like a blatant slash call to me (I taped the game and watched the third after I heard how wild it was), and the goal was caused by Irmen not picking up the third man into the zone. Not only that, the puck deflected off of Irmen's body on it's way into the net, completely fooling JJ. Shaver was really riding the officials during the third period, and after watching the tape, it would seem he was letting his frustration show through a little too much...
  6. Looks like now it will be SS.com vs. the team formerly known as POI
  7. While I would love to meet all of you...I am usually pretty plastered during the Final Five weekend......(And this year St. Patty's Day once again coincides with the tournament)
  8. Goehring got more votes than belfour??? Shameless!
  9. Sandy is a great recruiter...and he will be put to the test in Duluth next season with 11 seniors hittin the road.
  10. Yes, you do hold the tiebreaker, but only because more of UMD's points come from ties. This could change in the next few weeks, but most likely we will be bussing over to Grand Forks for the first round. Thankfully, this year that doesn't scare me as much as it used to (even though maybe it should? )
  11. That would be great to see, especially if they knock off the goofs to get in!!
  12. Well then...THANK YOU DENVER!!!
