Minnesota State High School Hockey Championship

Rocherter Mayo has had some great teams over the years...but on the whole...I would have to agree with you. -
Yeah, Caig has one of the hardest shots on the team, yet he seems to always flip these weak fulttery shots on goal when he gets the chance. He needed to let that cannon loose a bit more this season. As for the Hobey voting, I doubt most of those top 10 are even being conidered (last years top vote getter was from Ala.-Huntsville ). It's all about whose fans are more religious about voting everyday.

So what you are saying is that if the teams end up tied, UMD has the tiebreaker. I was just wondering what that tiebreaker is. Total goals? Goal differential? Which team can fit the most players in a phone booth? I'm not saying that it will happen, as JBSU's chances of sweeping the Sioux are about as good as the entire Sioux team being struck by lightning twice while Hakstol scratches off his winning lottery ticket.
-
Just out of curiosity...(not that I think this would actually happen), but if the Sioux lose and tie vs. JBSU next weekend, and tDogs sweep Wisco, both teams will be 12-13-3, and have each beaten eachother once. What is the next tiebreaker? Goals? Coin flip? Tug of war?
-
I won't take offense...however we did just sweep the Beavers 4-1, 5-2, so I would say we are also a tad better than BSU...and can play with any team in the top 15 right now.
-
He does...if you're any team other than UMD. He jobs us every time . Nobody really knows why (though I've heard some wild stories involving some sort of love triangle that Campion ended up on the wrong end of...don't really believe he would hold a gradge against the team like he does jsut for that. Must be some deep seeded angst). You can have him...just keep him away from the DECC.

Mankato 8, DU(mb) 5... We all knew Du's D was not as good as last year...but not this much worse. Last 3 games DU has yielded 18 goals!!
-
What's up with DU(mb) lately? Dogs won twice (lost one to the refs) and now the Cows pot up 4 goals?? Can't blame injuries anymore, so what is their excuse?
-
Dogs up 2-0 on the Beavers after 2 periods.
-
We do have games left vs. Wisco too, so we could very well remain a TUC. I'm still a bit unclear on one thing. Does a team have to be a TUC when you play them...or just at the end of the season when the brackets are being made up?
-
Happy to oblige...
-
I've pretty much lost all hope for 5th place. I am just hoping for a split with Wisco, but even if we sweep, the Sioux would have to get only 3 of 8 points the next two weekends. As for the Beavers series I hope the Dogs can finally learn to take this team seriously...

It's all right. From reading the posts that Goon has been making lately, it sounds like he is having some kind of mental meltdown. He jumped off the bandwagon and it ran him over. Saying that UMD sucks this year (who just put up 6 against PWR #1?) pretty much proves he is out of touch with what is happening in the league this year with perennial doormats like MTU and UAA winning huge games and playing at the highest level they have in years. I didn't expect this from Goon since he has previously been a very insightful and respectful poster, but a season of frustration has obviously taken its toll.
-
sprig, never have I flamed on this site. I have always given the Sioux the respect they deserve. Goon was the one making the classless comment about UMD being a second rate program (no idea where he got that). CRR, my sig line is meant as a joke...note the wink afterwards. UMD does not have much to brag about (7>0). It's just meant as a tongue in cheek comeback to all the 7>0...7>5 sig lines and posts. Also note the Back2Back shot at Gopher fans. It's all in good fun. I don't care how many national titles anyone has either...if I did I certainly wouldn't be a Bulldogs fan.
-
NO. I just believe in showing respect for my opponents, unlike Mr. Goon.
-
You'd probably be better off throwing down on a game of "three card monty"
-
I'm surprised that so many Sioux fans are sticking the blame on the coach. The Bulldogs are 22nd in the PWR, after being picked by the coaches as the best team on paper in the WCHA. I don't think many in Duluth think Sandelin is a hack, or doesn't know how to motivate his players.
-
Not exactly. The door is still pretty much closed. The Sioux have a free series vs. SCSU to take points (both teams have a Wisco series left). Even if the Sioux are swept next weekend, they will still be tied w/UMD as we have to play the Beavers. That would leave UMD with a home series vs. Wisco, and the Sioux at Jan Brady (who you outscored 7-2 earlier this season). I would still give a major advantage to the Sioux. No, there's no cheeriness here...

Dogs were 0-3-1 vs. UAA, but are 1-0-1 vs. CC (#3 PWR) and just put up a 6 spot on DU (#1 PWR). It's a tough league top to bottom, and each weekend is a new battle. I've learned not to be discouraged by losing to bottom dwellers (since the Dogs have done so much of that this year).

AA announcers are getting really sarcastic and annoying...
