They are a very good team... they just struggle with consistency. Something we can certainly relate to.

Exactly... but there in lies the rub... where is the line? What is obvious? If the refs call it consistently I am fine with it but that seems to be a rarity with NCAA officiating.

I didn't see the Shaw penalty but what frustrates me the most is there is no definitive line at what constitutes interference... by the rule book, there is interference at a rate of about 2 a minute.

Putting the kids to sleep and missed the last little bit of the first and the first half of the second... what the hell happened?!?

I haven't had many chances to see UND live this year and would love to take my wife and kids to Saturdays game... If anyone has some cheap(er) tickets they don't plan on using please let me know.

I wasn't either... the Mavs certainly controlled play for the first half of the third but that wasn't due to UND's lack of effort in my opinion. The Mavs have a skilled team and there is no way UND is going to control 60 minutes of any hockey game, let alone a NCHC playoff game. If UND plays how they have the last couple of games I feel good about their chances of making the NCAAs.

I'll certainly give you the first 10 in the third... at any rate, it was good enough to kick the cows in the teeth to the tune of 4-nuts.

You are correct. I'm not sure of your point. When I talk about playing a full 60 it is when they aren't coasting and getting beat to pucks they shouldn't and lazy dump-ins when they could carry the puck in. I forget what game it was last weekend but a UND player dumped it in on a 3 on 2 rush for no other reason than he was playing lazy-ass hockey.

DU shut out at home tonight... does anyone else notice that the DU announcers mics never go off-line when not on air? Amusing things come out of their mouths at times lol.

They played well against St. Cloud but they didn't play a full 60 minutes in either game. And if you take out the Cloud series there are plenty of examples of this team coasting for large stretches of games.

Typically we've played better hockey on Saturday nights vs. Fridays but who knows. A sweep would be extremely helpful in punching a ticket to the NCAAs. I'm very happy with how they played tonight... good puck control, crisp passing and (shocking) a bit of scoring.

This board is a lot quieter when the Hawks play well lol...

I have certainly been critical of this team but nothing to crab about tonight... crazy what happens when you play hard for 60 minutes.

Alternate reality is just what this team needs compared to what they've done since Christmas break.

Exactly... Much better effort than usual though. This team can play with anyone when firing on all cylinders. Now, stay out of the &$@#(*^! penalty box!!!
