You are right as well... It's the coaches job to get the scheme that fits the players. And it is also Hak's job to get the effort out of the guys. Listen, I know players take shifts off time to time and we can't always be firing on all cylinders but I can't remember when our boys have put in a complete game. A team like this needs to come to work every night and every shift, and it's Hak's job to make sure that happens.

He has and it has been said... There is no doubt Hak can recruit but our storied history and our barn with all that comes with it has a lot to do with that as well. You need to get the most out of your players no matter how talented. Here on SS there seems to be two types, the type that think Hak has issues and call for his head and then those that blindly follow and bring up the successes of the Hak era. My feeling is that we as fans have every right to question the coaches ability. Especially when a team this talented is under-performing as much as they are. It's a shame what's going on right now. Every team has it's ups and down but this team's main problems lie in lack of effort for huge portions of the game.

Played hard Hak? Maybe for some short stretches... was he watching the same game I was?

Boy so much talent that isn't producing... Shows what happens when you come and play 20 minutes of a 60 minute game. Disgusting effort again.

Pure laziness on that PK... UND seems incapable of playing any where close to a full game with any kind of hustle. I sure would like to to see Hak light a fire under these guy's asses.

Can't play a complete game when you start off the first 5 minutes that uninspired and lazy... we might be lucky we are only down 1 right now.

If anyone wants to see a replay of where Parks swings his stick at the st cloud player it is at 11:08 in the condensed game on UNDsports.com. Disgusting. Now I can see why Motzko was so pissed... I hope Hak takes a long hard look at that replay.

There is no question, the boys got punched in the mouth this weekend... hopefully they learn from this and recover. If they don't, it will be a long season. On a side note, did anyone notice Parks swing his stick and make contact with a st cloud players head? This was right after he was put on his butt and embarrassed trying to cross the center line with the puck. It sure looked to me like he tried to do it on purpose and if that is the case he should sit a game or two. Absolutely no room for that in hockey.

Out hit, out skated, out shot. Lazy in the defensive zone. Way too many turnovers. No doubt who was the better team on the ice. That ranks up there with the most frustrating games I've watched as a fan in quite some time. I for one am over this slow start crap year after year.

They didn't put any pics of the vast amounts of empty seats (that were very easy to see on tv) on that goofer propaganda site? weird...

You don't have to... go back to gpl and no one will bat an eye.

I'm hoping for the best but in all reality I would be thrilled with a split... I think later on in the year we would hang with a depth team like Miami every night but we have a lot of inexperience on this year's squad. That will take some time to mesh as we saw last weekend. I won't be able to watch either game so to those who can, cheer for me.

I'm calling it... going to be another great season to be a NoDak fan.

Unless you saw his play at last year's world juniors... That being said, he will be a stud down the line. His play hasn't caught up with his hype. Yet.

So then I'll ask you this, how many alcohol related offences should they be allowed to get while they are on UND's hockey team? 5? When do these "simple minors" become a problem?

It's a shame the apologists are out in full force... yeah kids make mistakes, yeah college kids drink... UND hockey players, especially ones on scollies need to adhere to a higher standard. If you decide to drink, you better be damn sure you don't get caught. And when you do get caught, be ready to accept responsibility for your actions. I fully expect Hak to give Gothberg and Chyzyk the three strikes and you're out talk, as he very well should.
