Did you bring your club?

I ask this question in all seriousness because I've never noticed paukovich in any of his games against the Gophers, but is he known as a cheap, dangerous player outside of his scraps against UND? I'm not defending the hit against Bina one bit, but is he known across the league for excessive penaly minutes, cfb, dqs, etc., etc.?

Yes, "people can say whatever they feel like" but I notice you didn't direct this sort of comment towards at least two Sioux fans that said the same thing as I. And I did deal with it - by giving my opinion.

Not sure who is or isn't an expert, but in my not so expert opinion Kessel wins the award. Is that a slight of Oshie? Heck no - Oshie's had a great year and has an even brighter future ahead of him. Anyone that wouldn't accept either player on to their team probably isn't being very honest with themselves. Both sets of fans should be proud. About my only source of argument is that I think it's sad some people find it so necessary to try and tear down another player. If you think Oshie deserves the award, explain why he does instead of ripping into Kessel as if he's the anti-Christ. I hated it when some Gopher fans went after Parise without legitimate reason, hated when others went after Vanek and I'll continue to hate it no matter the player. Kessel passes like nobody's business, plays on a line that is not stacked with upper-classmen, has earned a lot of points in conference and imho makes those around him better. Nobody here no matter their connections has any valid reason to question his heart or determination and no one has ever produced any reason to believe he's a cancer. Celebrate your own successes instead of trying to ruin everyone else's.

I'd be interested in an explanation as well because I've seen a similar quote, and believe the source for the quote was the USCHO web-site itself.

It seems lately that when I've thought the Gophers were facing an unavoidable "war" for an upcoming weekend series, that for whatever reason the teams ended up avoiding such an event. Not to say that things didn't get chippy, and unfortunately chippiness seems to be a neverending result with both CO teams (CC running goalies, DU playing dirty) etc., but don't be surprised if both teams are so concerned with winning such extremely important games for both sides that you end up seeing more hockey and less wrestling. Unfortunately, "boxing" events at college hockey games have gone the way of the Old Ralph and Maroosh arenas. [edit] I miss the days of opening the Sunday morning Mpls Strib and seeing a box score from the second 7-1 Gophers shellacking of a team in a total-goal series, and the 3rd period "penalties" records was a never-ending string of "10-minute misconducts". Of course then you didn't have to worry about automatically losing a player for a game.

My opinion of where UND will end up isn't based mathematically but based upon history. If memory serves me correctly it seems that PWR ratings for WCHA teams always tend to rise at the expense of other conferences - across the board - in February and March. imho it's based upon SOS and success in OOC games and I suppose my thoughts on this could be flawed, but if UND wins enough games they get in as we'll see teams such as OSU fall in the PWR and UND and DU flip a few comparisons late. Stating UND needs to win a few games is an "obvious" statement of course (win the Broadmoor and case closed) but my point is that I don't think they remain on the bubble vis a vis other non-WCHA teams after the next two weekends are complete barring a collapse on the ice.

Something not being addressed here is the fact that the NHL was off for one full year. I honestly haven't followed this too closedly, but will the impact of the new CBA on college players differ now that the NHL is in full swing again?
-
Not according to Hull:
-
They're one in the same for MTU.
-
The loser doesn't post for the rest of the season.
-
Given the remaining schedule for UND and the apparent rising PWR ratings for the WCHA as a whole, as long as UND keeps winning I think they'll get in.
-
I'm not taking this bait.
-
Now I'm wrong for something I never did. This is getting ridiculous. Where is the ignore feature?
-
This what I just can't understand about you. The only comment I made about that beer bong picture was joking about the possiblity of it being whatshisname. I also said that if it was him, BIG DEAL! If that's the only reason you have for stalking me and jumping on every single word I post then get a grip. You take all of this way too seriously. Seriously Francis, lighten up.
-
That I'm not willing to kiss anyone's behind doesn't make me a troll. That I can't make a single post, no matter how constructive without a certain few posters overreacting doesn't make me the problem. I've not said anything outlandish about any of the fans here or the Sioux program, I haven't talked smack, I've not really done anything except disagree on a few points and there. Oh the horror!
-
I'll predict by the end of the season the Gophers "team" will accomplish more. I too think it's lame to argue who is better, TJ or Phil (both are great players and fans of both teams should be extremely happy with what they have) but that doesn't stop the incessent anti-Kessel rhetoric around here.
-
Yup, because there's no possible way a Sioux player would ever slash another player, hit from behind, tug their jersey, slap their stick against the glass, purposely shoot a puck into the crowd...
-
I bet your daddy is bigger than my daddy too. I should be careful though because if I get to rough with you you'll take your ball and go home.
-
The next time would be the first time, but as I said lighten up guy - hockey is a game. btw I got a kick out of #1 Sioux or whatever trying to argue "our sins are less egregious than your sins".
-
Lighten up, Francis.
-
Yup - this one really hurts. Thankfully the Gophers have a bye followed by a weekend up at MTU. Not saying they should expect to coast at MTU, but if I had to pick a road series for Irmen to be out...

Aside from the SHOUTING, what was so bad about his post?
