Guess I'm wrong. Daughter says that there is a Sioux design of some sort on it. Mostly white, but with a design.

As best I recall, it's one of those "throw back" helmets. It's all white. You sure you ain't thinking of Brant's head dress?

Home after a long drive from Madison. Could only make one of the two because of other commitments. Cripes, is Madison a worthless town in which to navigate at night. I stumbled around there for an hour before I found my way onto I-94 West. In any event, from our vantage point, it was a great night of college hockey in the WCHA between two very solid teams. Sure, it was disappointing to get shutout. Sure, Bruckler is a solid goaltender. Sure, we only had 25 or so shots. Sure, Lammy appears to be the real deal. A tough loss on the road. So, what does one expect in the WCHA? Wisconsin returns a team with alot of talent that, like us, missed going to the Frozen Four last year by one game and one goal. Not exactly a pushover. The Wisconsin crowd is great. Even the old-timers get into the action. We oughta be able to replicate that at the Ralph. No a stitch of piped in music between whistles. Wow, was that refreshing. Now to the game and to all of you naysayers on the boys and Hak. The Sioux played damned well from our vantage point. They skated hard and fast. They hit hard, and mostly smart. They took a pimping a couple of times on some penalties. Scneider is lucky that he is not sitting tonight. He pummelled that Badger clown. Their passes were largely clean and crisp. They had some good shots, and some quality chances. Sometimes things are just puck luck. Lammy stood on his head. The game could have easily been 3-1. The last minute of play was classic. The Badgers iced the puck a couple of times shooting for an open net. Talk about undisciplined. This gave the Sioux several faceoffs in the attacking end in the last thirty seconds. The final flurry was frantic. Had the Sioux had about three more seconds, I think that they would have scored and the wringing of hands and knashing of teeth would be half of what it is on this board today. It was a great WCHA clash between two upper echelon teams. The Sioux lost a tough one on the road. They are having a tough time getting the puck in the net, but it sure is not attributable, at least last night, to any lack of effort, focus, skill, or coaching. By the way, they did a heck of a job killing off the 5x3's. Blais is gone and Hak is here, and is here to stay. All aboard!!

It's Time for the Best Road Trip of the Year
NorthDakotaHockey replied to Fedorov's topic in Men's Hockey
We are going to the Friday game. Had tickets for both nights but turns out my daughter has a dress rehearsal for a school play that she cannot miss on Saturday. Bought our tickets at the same time, damned near when they first went on sale. Got seats three rows off the ice for Friday, all they had for Saturday was three rows into the upper deck! Brandt needs to get back into the rotation. He will prove himself to be The Man down the stretch if given the chance. -
You are hilarious Dave!!

Dean ain't coming back. Life moves forward, not in reverse. Hakstol, and the Sioux, will be just fine. Cripes almighty. This is hockey, and it is college hockey. Anything can, and often does, on any given weekend. I can't recall the last team, in most any sport, to go undefeated. Start your crying in February when, and if, we are in danger of losing home ice in round one. Otherwise, enjoy the season, and remember the reason. Fighting Sioux. Win. Lose. Or draw. There ain't a better healed program in the country, and crying for the likes of Dean does little to nothing to advance the cause.

You are not a bad guy. Just a misguided guy for jumping to rash conclusions.

Hey Damstrait. Get your nose outta dat machine and drive up to see my CSTV. Call me si vous plait. Roseville.

Hilarious Diggler. Pretty dang true as well. The Gophers can say what they want about their true rivals, but it is real clear from the way that Da Donny acts, he is, always has been, and always will be, GREEN with envy. The Sioux are number one in his mind. Can't stop talking about 'em. Just like this clownface TC_Transplant.

You the man, JimDahl. I bit the bullet and signed onto Comcast in the Twin Shiddys. Extra $5 a month gets CSTV and a raft of Fox Sports regionals other than the local calls. Great info on the link. Great job on this board. Great. Really. Thanks for everything you do to keep this ship afloat.

From where we have watched and paid attention, he is typically paired with Greene and, like last year, they are, or will again become, the dominant defensive pairing in all of college hockey. The -1 is a bit tough to explain. Hard to go in positive numbers when your team is scoring but a few goals a game. Matt is solid, and will be fine. Watching him control the defensive zone is much akin to watching a skilled bartender mix a quality martini.

Now ain't that a some beach . . . . Real bummer for Fabian. I'll never forget his Hat last year in Mankato. Cost me my green sequined wig that was subbing for a hat. He'll rehab. Sioux hockey has the best training staff in damned near all of ice sport.

That's a BIG 10-4 there dakotaboy. Glass houses. People who live in glass houses . . . . I do agree with returning that Sioux fight song whenever possible. It's a great piece of collegiate sport music.

I will violate my general rule to not reply to trolls with this sign. HENDU: GOPHER-K YERSELF Sorry that the Mariucci crowds are not allowed to bring in signs. Might expose the lack of ability to spell. Why else would you guys always keep practicing that stupid M-I-N-N-E-Ahh-S-Ahh-0-Ahhh I think -T - A cheer?

Oops. Sorry about the double topic post elsewhere on the media guides. Gonna be a heckofa series, as really all WCHA series are. In actuality, I think that the upcoming series with CC will be a much bigger test, and a much tougher challenge for the men in green.

Here, hopefully, are links to the Sioux Media Guide for the series, and the world through the Gophers' brown-colored glasses . . . . Sioux Guide Gophers' Guide

The Bison really are little more than a minor burr under our saddle these days. They are inconsequential, and likely will be for years. I cannot help but wonder how it was that back in the 70's all of the so-called NDSU and Fargo "powerbrokers" had such myopia that they could not see clear to start a hockey program then, much like did St. Clown, Mankato, Bemidji, UNO, and a raft of others. Never have so many, claiming to be so astute over so much for so long, done so little to advance the standing of their school. Go Herd! Ha!!

WHOS TRAVELING IN THIS WEEKEND FOR GOPHS SERIES?
NorthDakotaHockey replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Light aircraft!?! You nuts? Besides, by the time one screws around with driving to the airport, pulling a plane out of a hanger, getting clearance, and taking off, I can beat you there on the highways. Of course, I'm driving a quality built Ford tough truck, and you're limping along in one them German cars. -
If I were still a wagering man, I'd wager that WPoS can hardly think right now, seeing how frustrated he is about going to a wedding in Michigan instead of to Grand Forks for the BIG series. Hey, at least he'll be able to wear his brown leisure suit and his yellow shirt in honor of his boys on ice. Here's saying four points for the Sioux. Probably by near identical 5-1 or 5-2 scores. Shutouts ain't outta the realm of possibilities. By the Sioux, not Briggs.
-
The next few weeks should be fun. First, watching the Sioux drill the Goophettes back into their dirt holes, much like November of last year. Then, while the Sioux are out east, watching the Mavericks go into the hallowed halls of Mariucci and taking at least 2 or three points over the Halloween weekend. Good thing that Gophers have such long teeth. They are going to be knashing 'em all year long.

Thanks again Johnny Dahl. Great shots. I agree. The one with Schneider jumping is pretty cool. I used to try and shoot Sioux hockey in the late 70's, when you could get a seat by the ice anywhere, because tickets and seats were not hard to come by in the relatively lien Rube years. It ain't easy shooting hockey, because the finger is always a split second slower than the eye. Combine that with the speed of the game, and it tells those in the know that you need a great sense of anticipation to be a great hockey photographer. Keep up the anticipation there Johnny D.

Some really great shots. For those of you in the know on these things, I assume that they are digital shots, eh? Does one use a flash, or do you set the "film" speed at a really high ASA? Nice work Dahl. Send more if you can. NDH
