  1. You really need to learn a few lessons about trust and confidentiality. Even if true, does Grant's father really want you disclosing what he likely told you in confidence? You ever get that autograph for the guy who was looking for one for his kid? If not, why not? You came on crowing about all of the people you know, and how you get free tickets, teach the youngsters with their maths and sciences, blah blah blah. Rather sad really. Potulny turned out to be a fine fine college hockey player and will someday be a fine head coach. I always liked telling my Minnesota buddies that it took a North Dakota boy to bring them back to the promised land. This said, there are hundreds of solid D-I recruits year in and year out. UND likely took a glance, but decided to pass on recruiting him hard for whatever reason. Maybe they did take a run at him. Maybe they didn't. I could not care less. That is the domain of players, their families, and coaches. I have heard recruiting stories from a few parents, but what purpose is really served by barking them here when it was obvious that I was told in confidence? None. If Grant's Pa wants to weigh in here, give him a call and ask him to do so. Second hand stories mean nothing to me, and I really could not care less if I heard it from the little birdie's mouth directly. Old old news, if your claims are anything more than stories. Finally, I do not believe for a second that Hak would have ever lied to Blais. Although I do not know him, I also do not believe that Mr. Potulny is a liar in any respect. You, sir, are not presently extended this presumption in my mind.
  2. Last I checked, UNO was, and is, far from chopped liver in this year's college hockey season. They have a legitimate shot at making the tournament and, once there, like all sixteen teams, they will have a legitmate shot at The Crown. Blais doubled up Hak on Friday. Hak returned the favor on Saturday. Neither of them were on the ice, best I saw from where I was sitting. At least not until the final horn on Saturday, when they both had a reasoned conversation. There were no woodshed trips this weekend. It was a split in the WCHA. Happens all the time. You weren't on here claiming that Gwoz, or Lucy, or Sandelein took Hak to the shed earlier this season, were you?
  3. Yes. This is a big 10-4. I am a big LaPoint fan, as I am a fan of all of the players. The D-Corps, as well as the team, is loaded. I would sit Forbert before LaPoint. When in doubt, seniors over freshmen with all other things being equal. At least folks are trying to turn LaPoint into this season's Brian Lee or Joe Finley. On the game front, I agree with the first time poster Predator. UNO is going to bring it big time. This is well shaping up to be a barn burner of a series, and a barn burning rivalry for years to come. Especially after the Gophers pack their play toys and run to Barry's so-called Big Ten Hockey Conference. The Big Mistake.
  4. A great idea. Winnipeg is a fine city. FYI, anyone with a D-Dub on the old driving record may as well plan to stand down on that trip right now. A little birdie tells me that the Canadians do not allow D-Dubbers into their country. At least not very readlily. True?
  5. Yes, he was quoted that he wants to be top shelf ready to fly come training camps this summer. I suppose this is more proof that the college years come and go in a heartbeat, and that it is the lives that we make for ourselves and our families thereafter that matter most. I was a bit surprised to see that young Mr. Kangas ranked so high in many categories on the Gopher Goalie Career Ladder.
  6. I am rethinking this, perhaps too much and for no good reason. Based on the TV interviews I have seen with Da Don, he seems mildly miffed about Kangas' decision. Or at least the timing of it. I know nothing about these types of injuries and others have weighed in on them. I wonder if Kangas could have, had he wanted to, played through the injury to the end of the season. And played reasonably effectively when called upon. Instead, knowing he needs the surgery for his future, he decides to forego the season and his teammates by moving on now, rather than waiting for the surgery until after the season is over. In short, he is looking ahead rather than at this teammates? Had he been playing more now, would the surgery have waited? I do not know, but I wonder. The Pioneer Press asked him how he felt leaving the team right before traveling to North Dakota for what is obviously a big series. His reply? "It's not fun." I wonder what he meant. Not fun leaving his team now, or not fun going to North Dakota, ever? Anyway, I wonder. I hate to see a kid's season end, but I wonder if he is leaving now more for selfish reasons than out of pure medical necessity.
  7. Wow. This is really too bad. Always hate to see this happen to a kid.
  8. These tickets have been SOLD. For the second time. Maybe they will show up here again?
  9. Victim of a leaker here. First they want 'em, then they don't. We have three single seats in the lower bowl for the Friday night game. Paid $59.93 each through the TicketBastard. Have receipts. Will sell each single seat for $60. Section 115, Row O. Section 110, Row P. Section 11, Row R. As you can see, the 110 and 111 seats are virtually right next to each other if you are looking to pair up. Tickets in GF for pickup all week long. PM me if interested in any or all.
  10. Looks like I may now have two single seats in lower bowl for Friday Sioux-Gopher game. $62.50 each, which was my cost, plus $2.57 "handling charge" for my time horsing around on the exchange.
  11. I'll be happy to never see them again either, at least this year, as they would probably beat us based on the efforts shown last night. Don't forget that that another junk program in that junk league beat Big Shot DU last year to go to the Frozen Four. I stopped underestimating folks, and programs, years ago. D-I hockey. Any night, any team, can beat anyone. If a team does not show to play with heart. Blaming it on the refs doesn't fly with me too often.
  12. Last I checked, RMU was, and still is, a Division I college hockey team. It is not very easy for anyone to make a D-I roster, anywhere. All D-I teams can, and often do, bring it. Kudos to RMU for their efforts on the ice. Last night was yet more proof, and a good reminder for players and fans alike, that anything can happen on any given night between any two D-I teams, especially when one squad is a bit lackadasical and the other is sporting a goaltender standing on his head. Sure, the reffing was shaky. However, RMU was getting stiffed as often as were the Sioux. A win is a win is a win. Let's get two more in what may well likely be the last Sioux-Gopher hockey games ever played.
  13. A great ceremony last night. #12 looks great in the rafters. Kudos to The Ralph and UND staff for getting this done.
  14. Hey Final Five Fans. Check out this potentially fine deal for those looking for a suite to entertain or watch the games. Just posted on Twin Cities Craigslist. Final Five Suite Deal Good luck. NDH
  15. This should be a great game and a really fun time. Bulldog fans are great college hockey fans and I am always happy to see their team do well, right behind the Sioux at all times anyway. If anyone has tickets in the Cities, or on the way up the I-35 corridor, and decides to stand down due to travel, weather, or other needs or concerns, let me know and I will take one or more tickets off your hands and load up the trusty Exploder for a last minute trip north. All who are lucky enough to be going, enjoy what should be a great time. Drive safely.
  16. Gopherz claims to have just scored two sets of four, or a total of eight, for EACH night from a buddy of his in the box office. Since he last reported that he only needed three singles for Saturday night to get into the building, I suspect that he will have plenty of tickets available, at his cost or only slightly above,to help out you AZSIOUX, as well as all of the other Sioux fans who are looking for tickets here. How Gopherz scored eight, for each night, in two sets of four only this week for a game with this demand is beyond me, but he has the tickets and, being a good college hockey fan, is likely willing to sell them at a fair cost rather than try to scalp them here or elsewhere. Right 'Pherz?
  17. I have a good handful of inquiries and will shake things out and post here again if we have any left as we get closer to game time. All of the sudden, I have friends. Funny how a guy finds friends at Sioux-Gopher time. The greatest event, perhaps, in all of sport.
  18. Cool flashing GO SIOUX signature there Big AG. Very cool. You do some nice stuff with your screensavers etc. You a computer guy, or gal, or something?
  19. Looks like I don't have all those friends that I thought I had. Family too. Anyway, I likely have two lower bowl singles for FRIDAY, and anywhere from 2-4 lower bowl singles for SATURDAY, for the Gopher series. TicketBastard receipt is just shy of $60 per ticket. Yikes! This, of course, is my price. I figure I can make fifty seven cents or so on each. PM me if interested. No ReSellers Please. Fans planning to put their arses in the seats only.
  20. I am an idiot. This fact, and this question, has been bothering me. Who in the heck is Pony? Genoway, because the boys are riding him?
  21. You mean that one that left me giving about eleven ticket packages away to the Detroit Area Youth Hockey Foundation because no one wanted to watch hockey in an indoor football stadium, and because the teams that made the Frozen Four either had near non-existent fan bases or because their fan bases are generally adverse to travel? In large numbers anyway. Or, in numbers large enough to fill Ford Field. Only North Dakota fans could have, and would have, done that. My guess is that we will not see seating assignments until tickets arrive in March. Fortunately, there is not a bad seat in the house at The X.
  22. Maris. On an empty netter. In the U-18 game.
