  1. Now you are reaching. Speeding has the opportunity to cause harm just like coming in close contact with someone carrying Covid-19. The common sense part that you are struggling with is being able to recognize is that speeding 26 in a 25 has very minimal (if any) effect on the probably of serious injury. However going 50 in a 25 is a different deal. Similarly, standing shoulder to shoulder with 2000 people in the concourse isn't the best idea right now.......but a small group of 4 sitting with their mask down in a large arena spaced out from the next person offers minimal if any extra risk (much like speeding 26 in a 25). As for your continued obsession with "Ask Jody, Ask Jody"....frankly I don't care what he has to say on the topic. At the end of the day I'm spending my money elsewhere until the product is back to normal.
  2. By obtaining a driver's license and driving on the roads in North Dakota you agree to follow the rules of the road......doesn't mean that officers pulling you over everytime you are only 1mph over the speed limit is necessary......or that it will result in roads that are significantly safer. So rules are rules and they must always be followed no matter what?
  3. See this is the flip side of the unwavering "just comply and be happy we are giving you something" attitude that exists. You can force someone to wear a mask in a store.....or a stadium.....but you can't force someone to want to go to that store or stadium. The price paid for a ticket absolutely comes into play. Is it worth the hassle and decreased experience if you are paying $25 for a ticket? Maybe. Is it worth paying more for that "experience" than what you would have paid for a normal experience one year earlier? Absolutely not. This is where the common sense comes into play. Yes enforce it in the concourse, lines, etc......but when people are already spaced out and sitting with people they know be smart enough to not hassle a family of 4 that paid $400 to watch a game about putting masks up in between bites.
  4. A severely degraded experience is the reason. No tailgating (it could be 35 and sunny pregame) and the real risk of mask police breathing down your neck. Also, youth travel sports like basketball and hockey are in full swing which doesn't help since people have busy schedules. Finally, the last part that people don't want to talk about is the total lack of buzz surrounding the program as they trot out old slow and steady Bubba for yet another season of guaranteed mediocrity.
  5. Wouldn't that be like when the Vikings sent Troy Williamson to a hand/eye coordination specialist? Maybe a little too late by then?
  6. Price was reasons 1-5 for why tickets went unsold. UND tried to make back too much money too quickly. A premium price can be justified for a premium product/atmosphere like a packed house UND/Gopher game. However few people are willing to pay out that kind of money for the privilege of reduced concession options, less breathability via a mask, a list of rules they must follow, and a reduced social experience of not running into all of your buddies in the concourse.
  7. It's not really a great sign when an up and coming younger coach stagnates for 7 years as a special teams coach at a program not known for paying a boatload of money to coaches. The good ones are typically plucked away by other programs after that amount of time. Whether it's a lack of special teams talent or a lack of coaching ability, it falls on the head coach to fix it. Finally dumping Rudolph and giving Freund a shot was better late than never. Maybe it's getting close to time for another change.
  8. Nothing to do with McKinney, everyone knows that Rudolph didn't know what a screen pass was.
  9. No, haven't had one for 5-6 years now.
  10. Would it be trolling to point out that he may have realized that with a coach/offense that wouldn't even throw the ball to John Santiago out of the backfield that the best opportunity for him as an undersized back definitely wasn't here?
  11. So questioning Bubba and some of his current (and past) decisions are now off limits.....but taking shots at a classy kid like Cam because he wanted to play more and went somewhere else is okay? Nice job mods.
  12. One thing that will help Mckinney for sure is he already has experience playing for a D2 caliber coach.
  13. It paid big time to have ties to the mayor at the time when it came to the flood loan "disappearing" come repayment time.
  14. In MN every bar already has their license effectively suspended....unless you believe Walz is done extending orders.
  15. The majority of the money that the Boardwalk took was from unofficially forgiveable flood loans if I recall correctly.
  16. Distractions are never a good thing. There are enough unavoidable distractions that will pop up over he course of a season that there is no reason to add an avoidable one early on, which is unfortunately what a few players decided to create. Still too early to panic but due to the non-standard season they don't have the leeway they used to have to figure things out.
  17. Yeah it's annoying because Scheel can let in a softy and most games will still turn out ok. Kierstad can get his pocket picked late deep in his own zone in the 3rd and often things will still be ok. Unfortunately they both happened in the same game last night and most nights neither of those will happen.
  18. League titles? Sounds like something St Cloud State would say. Natty's or bust #gfhockey
  19. Weatherby has to put that away in OT. Also in SO all 3 UMD players got a shot off. UND's first two players didn't. Tough to score that way.
  20. Glad to see a bar in EGF stand up against the governor. It should be a clear message that when a bar that basically had $500,000 in free money given to it (1/2 of million dollar flood loan forgiven) can't make it, the other places in EGF aren't gonna make it either
  21. They are going to need a few white guys there so Antifa can be blamed if things get out of control.
  22. Surprised Schlossman hasn't chimed in yet with an article pointing out that those that didn't lock arms or put a hand on the kneelers shoulders must not support racial justice.
  23. The vast majority of hockey players haven't even had a black teammate.
  24. Why not? Since we are opening this up to individual expression instead of keeping it an actual team sporting event..... With all of the individual causes being pushed let the players go out there 1 on 1 to decide the game. Why even have a team?
  25. I think another thing that is lost in this is the precedent it sets. Why not fake hurl during intros to protest world hunger? Why not skate over to the color guard and grab your crotch in protest of US wars in the Middle East? Give the middle finger to any police you see in the stands to protest police brutality? It's their right to free speech right?
